Chapter 301 Order of the Phoenix

Chapter 301 Order of the Phoenix

"Let Lily teach Potions, and you be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor next year?" Dumbledore frowned and looked at the group of people standing in his office.

Despite James and Sirius's strong opposition, Mrs. Potter was determined to stay at Hogwarts.

If she stayed as a professor at the academy next year, both Harry's and her problems would be solved satisfactorily, and she couldn't think of a more perfect solution.

But in the eyes of James and Sirius, letting Lily teach Potions was undoubtedly letting a fat, white and tender sheep walk into the wolf's mouth, especially when they all knew that Snape had improper thoughts about Lily.

"I'm Harry's mother! And your wife! What are you worried about?" Lily was obviously displeased by her husband's concerns. "Severus and I are just friends! Besides, he saved our son!"

Snape always had a faint smile on his face. He had never been so grateful that he saved Harry's life as he was now.

Now Harry's meaning to Snape is changing. He is no longer the son who represents his enemy, but the love of his sweetheart.

No matter what, Snape had to try not to hate the boy.

"He is not a good man, can't you see that, Lily?" Sirius mobilized every muscle in his body, trying to prove that Snape was still the Death Eater loyal to Voldemort.

"Severus does have a shameful past, I understand that, but he is different now! He has turned over a new leaf! Professor Dumbledore even accepted him into the Order of the Phoenix!" Lily was like an angry lioness, and the two adult men who were much taller than her couldn't help but feel scared.

"Maybe he was born with a bad bone..." James spoke ill of Snape carefully.

"Do I need to remind you? James? Sirius?" Lily was still staring. When this beautiful woman got angry, no one dared to talk back, not to mention that she was a mother now, so she was even more majestic. "Do you think you can be much better than him? Gathering small gangs to bully classmates? Using the majority to bully the minority, and enjoying it? You were all bastards when you were in school! And you, Severus! You didn't teach my son the dark arts, did you? I know you were tinkering with those things when you were in school."

"Of course not." Severus said calmly, without any sarcasm or unnecessary politeness, "I was just ordered to teach him the brain block technique to fight against the Dark Lord's soul fragments."

"Very good." Lily no longer paid attention to the men who still looked reluctant, and sincerely said to Dumbledore who was sitting behind the desk, "Principal, please allow me to join Hogwarts. I am a person who has just resurrected from the grave, which means that I have not lost much of the knowledge I learned in school. You know what Professor Sgraughorn said about me. And Severus is also willing to take the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. It is said that he has been looking forward to this position for a long time..."

"Let's talk about this later, Lily." Dumbledore seemed to have his own ideas. "After the final exams are over, enjoy the summer vacation with your family. This summer vacation is the first summer vacation that Harry can stay with his parents. He has been looking forward to it for a long time."

"You... you are right." Lily hesitated and finally nodded, "But please consider my suggestion."

"I promise you, Lily, I will consider it." Dumbledore nodded, "But your identities are too sensitive. Voldemort is hiding somewhere now, and Hogwarts is a very conspicuous place. If you really want to protect Harry from harm, you and your wife's true identities must be firmly protected."

"Do you have any suggestions?" James stepped forward and asked, "We are always good at attracting attention, but hiding our identities..."

"I think the Muggle world is a good place to go. Although Voldemort has always wanted wizards to rule over Muggles, he doesn't know much about these people, let alone looking for you in the vast sea of people. They won't use name-calling magic on two dead people, and staying with you, the protective magic on Harry can also isolate the Death Eaters from detecting..." Dumbledore sighed, "This year is destined to be an eventful year..."

"So, that's all the bad family drama?" said a very young-sounding voice, who looked like a replica of Sirius, only younger and shorter.

"Regulus! They are all my friends! They are also the family who will live with us from now on. Don't let me hear similar remarks again!" Sirius warned.

"Come on, my loser brother." Regulus rolled his eyes. "Just because our parents are dead, you think of yourself as the head of the Black family? I thought your last name was Potter!"

"Regulus, I didn't resurrect you to quarrel with you, okay?" It can be seen that Sirius is trying hard to be an emotionally stable brother.

"Isn't it?" Regulus looked surprised. "I thought that after the three Potters moved into 12 Grimmauld Place, it would be renamed from Black House to Potter House! I heard that you have rearranged the furnishings in the house. Where did you put my poor mother's portrait? Lost it or burned it?"

"Oh my God! Merlin! Do you really have to quarrel with me here?" Sirius could hardly control his emotions. With so many people watching him, he didn't want to show his out-of-control side.

Regulus was not as cowardly as Sirius said. At least when he looked into the eyes of his own brother, his courage was enough to make Sirius feel that he owed him something.

Sirius scratched the wavy curls on the back of his head and said in a compromising tone, "They weren't thrown away. Old Kreacher put all those things away. You know, the man in that portrait is a lunatic. He can't do anything except yelling."

"Ah, I know who is the lunatic, you don't need to tell me." Regulus obviously didn't take Sirius's words to heart.

"What? Are you saying I'm the lunatic?" But Sirius was already ignited and roared like an angry giant dog.

Regulus adopted the cold treatment. He looked at Dumbledore behind the desk and said, "Long time no see, Headmaster Dumbledore."

"It's been a long time, Regulus." Dumbledore also smiled, "How do you feel now?"

"Not very good." Regulus didn't care much about his own condition, but continued with another topic, "I heard that the Dark Lord has not been eliminated yet? Is this why you resurrected me?"

"No, Regulus." Dumbledore shook his head. "We just thought that a hero deserved another chance, and the Black family happened to be rich."

"Hero? No, I'm just a coward." Regulus sneered, "I didn't dare to face the Dark Lord alone, but hoped that the house-elves could destroy his Horcruxes... This is a shameful escape. I didn't expect that I would end up on the same path as that prodigal brother - both escaped from family responsibilities. As for the Black family's gold, perhaps it has been almost squandered by that prodigal son? I should be thankful that the roof of the old house can still shelter me from the wind and rain."

"Everyone is likely to go astray, and I am no exception. Knowing one's mistakes and standing up to correct them is the greatest courage." Dumbledore showed his signature smile again. "I admit that Hogwarts was a little too hasty when it came to sorting, and I have never paid much attention to Slytherin students. But who would have thought that over the past century, it has always been students from Slytherin who have been influencing the situation in the entire wizarding world?"

Regulus smiled, no longer so cold: "I saw the iconic Slytherin snake. After all, we Slytherins conquered death first. What does he think of the wizarding world and the wizarding society? Does he support the pure-blood theory? Or does he think we should embrace Muggles?"

"You mean Ivy?" Dumbledore raised his head and thought for a while.

After resurrecting Regulus, Ivy began his long rest. Because the fatigue brought by the resurrection came from the depths of his soul, he did not participate in the subsequent conversation.

The other wizards in the room also paid close attention. None of them had ever asked this question before, but it was undoubtedly an important question.

"Compared to me and Voldemort, Ivy is a purer wizard." Dumbledore said slowly, "He pursues magic unreservedly, no matter what form it is. Noble, inferior, dangerous, and safe magic are all within the scope of his research. He has no ambition in politics. Both pure-bloods and Muggle-borns can become his friends. In his eyes, magic is always ranked first. The hostility with Voldemort is due to a little personal grudge."

"Where is he from? I've never heard of the last name 'Doom'." James couldn't help asking, "Apart from his name, I know almost nothing about him."

"He comes from the past." Dumbledore had a strange expression on his face, "A very long time ago, because a magician entered school in the same grade as Harry. He is very perceptive and easily discovered Voldemort's biggest secret. And he is also very restrained and knows what kind of magic can be tried and what kind of magic cannot be tried."

"He does sound like a perfect Slytherin." Regulus curled his lips. "No... maybe he is even more perfect than Slytherin himself..." Dumbledore shook his head. "That's pretty much all I know about him. Do you want to know anything else?"

"These are enough." Regulus stretched out his pale and weak hand, clenched it into a fist and pinched his fingers, "Let me see the rest myself. The lessons learned from the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord."

"That's all right." Dumbledore smiled kindly. "We believe Voldemort will take action this year, so we have reorganized the Order of the Phoenix."

"The Order of the Phoenix?" Regulus recalled. "I've heard of this name. You fought fiercely with the Death Eaters, but your methods were too rigid and too weak. You didn't cause much damage to the Death Eaters, and instead you always lost people in vain."

"We can't be as despicable as the Death Eaters!" Sirius retorted hastily.

"What happened to the Death Eaters you defeated and captured?" Regulus asked with a smile, "How many were thrown into Azkaban? How many were restored to innocence? If you really want to eradicate the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters, those tricks won't work. Moreover, the Dark Lord created Horcruxes, which are not much different from the Dementors in Azkaban. Once he really announces his return, the Death Eaters hiding everywhere will emerge. I have never seen anyone who can remove the Dark Mark."

"That's why the Order of the Phoenix needs you." Dumbledore made his own invitation, "A hero who is familiar with Voldemort's methods."

"I'm not a hero..." Regulus sighed, "I will join you, but only to see the Dark Lord finally reach his end."

"Welcome!" Dumbledore clapped his hands. "Come and shake hands with everyone, Regulus."

"Welcome." The first one to step forward was Snape. They had all once been under Voldemort's command and were all from Slytherin, so naturally they huddled together.

Then came Regulus's brother who gritted his teeth: "We are now in the same trench, right? I hope you can follow orders."

Regulus smiled and replied, "I hope Dumbledore doesn't let a madman boss me around."

Sirius had become somewhat immune to the same trick, so he just snorted and said nothing more.

James, who was staying at the Black mansion, was a little embarrassed and stepped forward to shake hands: "We are sorry to trouble you, Regulus. But don't worry, we will bear the cost ourselves..."

"Really? But as far as I know, the Potter family has sold all the shampoo patents long ago. How are you going to pay off your debts? Become an Auror?" Regulus showed no mercy.

"Ah - that's a good idea..." James almost said what he was thinking. "I mean, Sirius and I are thinking about starting a company together. Maybe you can give us some advice."

"It's not a surprising idea to let the biggest black sheep of the Black family start a company," Regulus commented.

James could only let go of his hand awkwardly, and hooked Sirius' arm to stop him from trying to get Regulus to "be more respectful".

When it was Lily's turn, Regulus made no further sarcastic remarks. He stated in a calm tone, "You have a wonderful son, ma'am. He is braver than anyone I have ever met."

"I just hope he is safe. He is still a student." Lily disagreed with Regulus' opinion.

"Destiny never gives people time to prepare. He must learn to face danger alone." Regulus did not continue to debate with Lily. After saying this, he turned and looked in the direction of the door of the Room of Requirement.

"What about Mr. Doom? Isn't he a member of the Order of the Phoenix?" Regulus asked.

"Although he also has a phoenix, we are actually in a partnership and he has not joined the Order of the Phoenix," Dumbledore explained for him.

Regulus looked at Dumbledore in surprise, as if asking how he could let such a powerful wizard go?
"Ivy has his own plan, and we have destroyed all the Horcruxes that Voldemort did not keep with him. Now we just need to lure the snake out of its hole, and we will be able to catch Voldemort." Dumbledore obviously saw Regulus's doubts.

"How much can I know about the plan?" Regulus immediately got into the role.

"We intend to unite all marginal races in the wizarding world and to reduce as much of the force as possible that Voldemort can mobilize when he returns." Dumbledore's plan also included his own political ambitions, to allow all intelligent life in the wizarding world to coexist peacefully, but the possibility of achieving this ambition under the leadership of "the wisest Minister of Magic of the 20th century" is slim.

Especially since Dumbledore wasn't planning on going into politics yet.

Regulus waited for a moment before he was sure that this was all he knew: "So... maybe... I can try to win the support of the pure-blood wizards?"

"Most of them have already supported Mr. Doom," Snape said, "especially some pure-blood wizard families who are trying to regain their voice."

"Ah, why am I not surprised at all." Regulus shook his head, "Those guys always have a sharper nose than a dog."

"Does the Order of the Phoenix have a legal source of funds for its activities?" Regulus thought for a while and then asked.

"We are all like-minded comrades! We don't need dirty money to maintain our relationship." Sirius said righteously, "Don't bring the Death Eaters' tricks into the Order of the Phoenix!"

"So when members of the Order of the Phoenix died, their families didn't even get a little compensation?" Regulus nodded, "Or is your life not worth even a single gold Galleon?"

Sirius was speechless, he thought of Alice and Frank who were still lying in St. Mungo's Hospital, the werewolf Lupin who had lived in poverty for more than ten years, and those other good people who died in the wizarding war.

"I usually persuade the Ministry of Magic to give these families some compensation and honors," Dumbledore said.

"The Minister of Magic can't always listen to your advice, otherwise why doesn't he let you be the minister?" Regulus revealed the awkward relationship between Dumbledore and Fudge in one sentence.

"What do you suggest, Regulus?" Dumbledore asked seriously.

"Does the Order of the Phoenix have a fixed meeting place now? One that's a little more hidden. The headmaster's office at Hogwarts isn't really hidden." Regulus didn't give a direct answer, but asked another question instead.

"We have not yet begun to search for a suitable base," Dumbledore replied.

"Well then, from now on, 12 Grimmauld Place will be the base of the Order of the Phoenix. Of course, the company that my prodigal brother and his friends are going to set up will also provide funds for the Order of the Phoenix. However, all members of the Order of the Phoenix must provide assistance to this company, both in terms of intelligence and connections."

Still got 5000! Go for it!
