Chapter 35 Midnight Duel

Chapter 35 Midnight Duel
"Harry Potter!"

It was Professor McGonagall's voice, as she rushed out of the castle, bellowing Harry's name.

All the voices that were cheering for Harry stopped like a chicken with its neck strangled.

Everyone saw Harry standing there shaking. Some of the Slytherins even laughed quietly.

However, Professor McGonagall's eyes, as sharp as a knife, swept across the crowd, and suddenly no one dared to speak.

"In all my years at Hogwarts - I've never -" Professor McGonagall's voice was filled with shock rather than anger, " - how dare you - you'll break your neck -"

Then Professor McGonagall stopped all the Gryffindors from speaking up for Harry and took him towards the castle.

"Ha!" laughed Malfoy. "I guess he's going to have to say goodbye to Hogwarts!"

Ron could no longer tolerate Malfoy's arrogance and rushed forward with a roar. Fortunately, Madam Hooch came back from the castle, deducted five points from each of the people who were fighting, and then announced the end of the farce.

Malfoy would spend the rest of the day discussing the incident in every Slytherin haunt, as if he had kicked Harry out of Hogwarts himself.

At dinner, at the Slytherin table, everyone who had heard Malfoy's boasting saw Harry appear at the Gryffindor table.

"It seems that your self-righteous plan didn't work. I thought you were going to challenge me to a duel." Cassandra commented on Malfoy's prank with contempt. "Except for the few points deducted when you and Weasley rolled on the ground, Gryffindor didn't even change on this day."

"What do you mean?" Malfoy almost gritted his teeth.

"What do you mean?" Cassandra put a piece of steak into her mouth gracefully, chewed it for a long time, and wiped her mouth after swallowing it completely. Then she continued, "Pushing your enemies further away doesn't mean you can get closer to Ivy. I thought you understood this."

"Now it seems that I overestimated you and your family education." Cassandra confirmed that her two little sisters had also finished their meals, and left with them without looking back.

"Don't listen to her." Blaise Zabini stuffed a piece of bread covered with meat sauce into his mouth and said to Malfoy nonchalantly, "Chew, chew, we have done well. At least we didn't fall off the broom and didn't lose points for Slytherin. Chew, chew, maybe when I get to the second year, I will consider joining the Quidditch team. Chew, chew, you know, being a seeker or something."

It seems that jointly violating discipline does indeed bring students closer together. Before this, Blaise Zabini would not have been so relaxed chatting with Malfoy.

"Just wait and see. I will definitely get Potter expelled." Malfoy stared angrily at Harry and Ron who were chatting and laughing at the Gryffindor table, "and that poor Weasley."

"Potter is indeed a much better flyer than expected." Theodore Nott, who had almost deserted, also came over, "Otherwise we would definitely break a bone or two for him."

"Oh, of course," said Malfoy absently. "Crabbe! And Goyle!"

He called over his two "good friends" who were still filling their mouths.

"We have new things to do." The two equally good friends stood up with their food and followed Malfoy. When they arrived at the Gryffindor table, not only did Crabbe and Goyle swallow the food in their mouths, but even the food in their hands disappeared.

"Having your last meal, Potter? When will you be catching the train back to the Muggles?"

Harry and Ron looked at Malfoy sullenly.

"Have you found your little friend again? I hope they don't leave you somewhere again." Harry stared into Malfoy's eyes as if he were his mortal enemy.

"Hmph." Malfoy snorted, "I'm willing to challenge you alone anytime, tonight if you're okay with it. A wizard's duel. Wands only - no contact."

Malfoy seemed to see Harry's hesitation, and then added: "Why? I guess you, who is almost a Muggle, have never heard of wizard duels?" "Of course he has heard of it." Ron, who failed to punch Malfoy on the playground, had been waiting for this opportunity. "I'm his assistant. Who is your assistant?"

Malfoy weighed the tonnage of the two companions behind him, and finally chose the one that looked larger in cross-section.

"Crabbe," said Malfoy. "How about we meet in the trophy room on the fourth floor at midnight? As far as I know, that place is never locked."

----

At half past eleven at night, Ivy finished his routine task of gaining experience in the Potions classroom.

Because of Snape's objection, he was unable to use the Hand of the Mage to gain experience today. Ivy maliciously speculated that Snape did not have enough materials for teaching.

Due to Snape's almost aria-like venom attack, Ivy couldn't help but spit back a few times.

Snape, who was furious, chose the latter between deducting points and asking Ivy to leave as soon as possible.

From this perspective, Slytherin's seven consecutive House Cup titles also have a very important meaning to him as the dean.

Found another handle to use against others.

To this end, Ivy strolled around the castle in a happy mood and returned to the Slytherin common room humming a song.

But before he could utter the password, the door to the common room opened automatically.

Standing before him was Malfoy, along with Crabbe and Goyle.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Malfoy." Ivy said cheerfully, "It's so late yet you haven't gone to bed yet? Oh, I remember. There's a duel waiting for you."

"Oh, oh. That's right." Malfoy had never expected Ivy to speak to him in this tone, but it only strengthened his determination.

Malfoy had intended to tell Filch about the students' night out in the trophy room, and he did so.

However, considering Cassandra's arrogant tone, Malfoy has always been a little uneasy. This girl has been against him since she entered school, and she doesn't care about the unity of Slytherin at all.

But what really made Malfoy decide to keep the appointment was not Cassandra's ridicule.

But it was Ivy in front of him.

That duel after the back-to-school dinner was so cool.

Malfoy has always thought so. Then why can't I be the one standing in the middle of the field and receiving everyone's awe?
Ivy is a first-year wizard, and so am I.

There's no reason why he can do it but I can't?

Although he never said this to anyone else, he did think so.

So, in a moment of impulsiveness, he called Goyle and Crabbe, who were snoring loudly, and slipped out of the Slytherin common room.
