Chapter 49: The Quidditch Cup is about to begin
Standing in the snow in the Scottish Highlands, Ron exhaled a breath of white air and wrapped his robe tightly: "Hagrid is so heartless that he actually let us stay in the ice and snow like this."
"What exactly is that Philosopher's Stone that Ivy just mentioned?" Harry asked curiously, "Why do both Snape and Quirrell want it?"
"Come on! Don't you guys read books at all?" Hermione rolled her eyes. "Nicolas Flamel, you can also call him Nicolas Flamel. I didn't expect his name in the wizarding world to be different. Don't you remember this name yet? Harry?"
Harry's empty brain was as harmless as his eyes. Hermione looked at him and sighed: "Well, he may be the most famous alchemist in the world. It is said that he created the Philosopher's Stone and achieved immortality with it."
"Immortality?" exclaimed Ron. "No wonder Snape and Quirrell wanted it!"
"Not only that, the Philosopher's Stone can turn everything into gold." Hermione continued, "That is to say, Nicolas Flamel is a rich and long-lived old man. No one knows why he gave the Philosopher's Stone to Dumbledore for safekeeping."
"Oh, now even I'm tempted. You can never have too much gold." Ron shrugged, revealing a little eager look.
With a bang, Hagrid pushed open the wooden door of the hut.
"Hagrid!" cried Harry enthusiastically. "I knew you wouldn't be that cruel!"
However, Hagrid just pursed his lips tightly, afraid to reveal any more information, and then he threw a broom into Harry's arms. It was the Nimbus 2000 he had dropped.
After doing all this, Hagrid slammed the door shut again, and the snowflakes that flew up even flew into Ron's mouth.
"Bah! See, Hagrid is so ruthless." Ron spat out the snow water in his mouth and said helplessly.
"Thank you, Hagrid! Remember to come and watch me play Quidditch!" Harry held his flying broom and invited Hagrid, but only two hums came from the cabin, making it unsure what Hagrid meant.
"Don't worry, he will definitely go, Harry." Ron patted Harry's shoulder comfortingly. "Since the Philosopher's Stone is such an important thing, we should now..."
"Tell the professor!" Hermione glared at Ron. "Don't think I don't know what you're up to. We can't take out the Philosopher's Stone, and don't even think about using it yourself!"
"Why not?" Ron was puzzled. "I don't want to keep it for myself. It's just a little gold. Nicolas Flamel can't use it all anyway. Besides, we have the Queen of Cannons and the ancient wizards. We can definitely get the Philosopher's Stone before Snape and Quirrell!"
"No matter which of the two of them wants to get the Philosopher's Stone, they have definitely not succeeded yet. We just need to tell the professors in advance so that they can be prepared." Hermione ignored Ron and just stated her reasons.
Ivy remained noncommittal, but Harry nodded in agreement.
"By the way, Harry." Ivy called to Harry before they returned to the castle, "I completely disassembled your Nimbus 2000, but I put it back together successfully, and I also added a few spells to defend against the dark arts. I hope you don't mind."
"Of course." Harry said briskly, "We are friends, even if you are a Slytherin."
Harry soon began to regret what he had said, because November was coming and the Quidditch season had begun. Wood was training them like crazy, and Harry had to find time to complete his heavy homework.
To make matters worse, Gryffindor's first opponent was Slytherin. If they won, Gryffindor would move up to second place in the House Cup standings.
In order to end Slytherin's seven consecutive championships, everyone worked hard secretly, and infected by this atmosphere, Harry felt that the burden on his shoulders was heavier.
"Look! That's Scarhead Potter, Gryffindor's Seeker!" After the Potions class one day, Malfoy was still chasing Harry, standing at the edge of the corridor and loudly mocking him. Snape hurriedly walked past them without even looking at Malfoy, let alone stopping to deduct points from him.
Harry secretly told himself to be patient. Snape was not far away. Taking action now would only cause Gryffindor to lose points.
"What do you think of his flying?" Seeing that Harry didn't answer, Malfoy asked a second question in a somewhat bored tone, and quickly gave the answer, "I think Gryffindor had better send a group of people to hold up mattresses and run underneath to prevent Scarhead Potter from falling off the broom and dying. I think Longbottom is of the right size, so even if he is hit hard by Potter, he won't be in any serious trouble."
"Ignore him, Harry." Hermione gave Malfoy a domineering look, and the latter took a step back slightly.
The story about Hermione using a spell to blow the troll to pieces spread throughout the four colleges, and it was becoming more and more outrageous, especially in Ravenclaw, where the students were very keen on discussing what spell Hermione used, and many people swore that it was dark magic.
Although students from the other two houses were skeptical about this, Slytherin had no reason to provoke a little witch who could really kill the troll.
So Malfoy said: "What? Going to your mother bird for protection again? Potter? If I were you, you'd be a cowardly bastard!"
"Looks like you want another punch on the nose, Malfoy?" Harry asked coldly instead of rushing up to roll into a ball with Malfoy.
Many people in the corridor looked over. Malfoy's face turned livid at first, but then he quickly regained his smile. "It seems that you just don't learn your lesson, Scarhead Potter? Then let's do it again. No matter what we have to use, it's just you and me."
"Oh? The trophy display room again?" Harry asked without any hesitation.
"Don't agree to him, Harry, he's disturbing your mindset. Don't forget the Quidditch match tomorrow!" Hermione tried to stop him anxiously.
"It's okay! Harry! I can take your place! It won't delay you from catching the Golden Snitch tomorrow!" Ron rubbed his hands together.
"After dinner, in the bell tower!" Malfoy snorted. "There aren't many people there, so it's a perfect venue."
After Malfoy left, Hermione looked angry and growled at Ron, "You should have stopped him! Apparently tomorrow's Quidditch game is more important!"
Ron said nonchalantly, "Come on, just treat it as a warm-up exercise before the game. But then again, are you coming or not?"
"Of course!" Hermione's voice was filled with anger. "I'll make sure you don't get any points deducted!"
