Chapter 62 Cassandra's Quest

Chapter 62 Cassandra's Quest

"This is the best opportunity." Cassandra told herself in the corridor on the eighth floor of Hogwarts Castle.

It was already Christmas holiday, and there was almost no one in the castle except a few little wizards who had not returned home like her, so Cassandra was able to spend a lot of time exploring the castle.

It must be said that, except for Cassandra herself, no Slytherin wizard chose to stay in the castle for the New Year. They all returned to the family manor and enjoyed Christmas dinner beside the warm fireplace. There might be a turkey with a lot of vegetables filling its belly, or a variety of puddings roasted to a burnt brown color...

"Focus! Cassandra, you have to concentrate..."

Cassandra shook her head and threw the image of Christmas dinner out of her mind. If there was one thing she shouldn't complain about at Hogwarts, it would be the food. Although the Christmas dinner was still held in the Great Hall, only a few students who stayed in the school attended it.

It was not easy to avoid the girls in the same dormitory and submit the application for staying in school to Professor Snape. Cassandra was almost exposed several times. To be honest, she didn't want her classmates to know that she was an orphan - orphan, it was the right word to call herself, she had no relatives in this world.

Walley was a Muggle surname, taken from her father, a brave man who had tried to protect his wife and daughter from a Dark wizard single-handedly and unarmed.

Unfortunately, however, Mr. Worley didn't have the strength to match his courage, and with just a simple flash of green light, he fell lifelessly to the ground.

Next was Cassandra's mother, a blonde beauty who claimed to be a descendant of the famous prophet Cassandra Trelawney, from whom Cassandra's own name came...but apparently those dark wizards had been completely screwed over by dark magic, and her beauty and bloodline could not buy her mother even a little time.

Just as the dark wizard with sharp teeth and horrible tumors on his face was about to recite the third spell, Cassandra's uncle rushed in. He attacked the dark wizard with a metal wand that made a huge noise, and knocked him to the ground.

Cassandra was very grateful to her Muggle uncle. If he had not visited the manor that day, perhaps Cassandra would no longer exist in the world.

Before entering Hogwarts, Cassandra lived in the suburbs of London, where her daily life was completely taken care of by servants. This was also thanks to Uncle Tovork, who protected Cassandra from this cruel world.

As for himself, Cassandra had never seen him again since that day.

"For my uncle." Cassandra clenched her cheeks, gritted her teeth, and continued to search in front of the silly tapestry on the eighth floor of the castle.

She stayed in school for Ivy's secret. Because Ivy followed Malfoy to visit their family's manor, Cassandra took the risk and stayed in Hogwarts. She needed to find the secret and she needed power.

"It must be around here..." Cassandra lowered her head and thought, pacing in the corridor. She had noticed Ivy disappearing on the eighth floor more than once. Sometimes she would glance at Ivy's movements from a distance and follow him carefully.

Although the route was different each time, in the end, Cassandra always lost Ivy near the eighth floor.

Cassandra, who was quick-witted, knew that there must be something fishy going on here. "Maybe a secret room? A secret passage? Otherwise, there's no reason for him to just disappear out of thin air..." Cassandra frowned in thought. It was obvious that Ivy knew more about Hogwarts than she did.

"It is said that there are many secret passages in the Hogwarts castle... and they all require special magic or passwords to open..." Cassandra looked up at the decoration in the corridor. It was a tapestry - the troll beating the fool Barnabas with a stick.

"It's stupid... and it doesn't help at all..." Cassandra lowered her head again and continued to walk around the corridor. "If only I could learn the relevant magic... so that all the secrets hidden by magic could be revealed to me..."

"Where can I learn such magic?" Cassandra immediately thought of the library, where there was a restricted area. Madam Pince forbade young wizards to stay there without permission, but Cassandra had seen Ivy enter the restricted area, and it was obvious that he had obtained permission from a professor.

"Shall we take advantage of the Christmas holidays to break into the restricted book section?" Cassandra immediately rejected her own idea. Caution is a natural trait of Slytherin, and she would not risk being expelled by going there. Not to mention that there were very few little wizards in the school during the holidays, and Madam Pince could easily keep both eyes on the back of Cassandra's neck.

"Magic book... magic book... where can I find a useful magic book?" Although she rejected the idea of entering the restricted area, the word "magic book" lingered in Cassandra's mind for a long time.

"No... I'm here to find Ivy's secret, not the magic book..." Cassandra shook her head in distress, and then decided to continue working hard tomorrow. After all, only when you are full can you have the strength to work.

But just as Cassandra's eyes swept across the empty wall, she was surprised to find that there was an extra door there, a very smooth wooden door.

"That must be Ivy's secret!" Cassandra was sure that there was no door there before. In order to find Ivy's secret, she checked almost every brick joint in the wall inch by inch.

Pushing open the wooden door on the wall, Cassandra saw a room full of books.

Many bookshelves dozens of feet long stood crookedly on the ground, each of which was filled with dirty books. Many books were thrown directly on the ground, stacked on top of each other, forming tall towers that looked unstable, making people suspect that if someone wanted to take a book out of them, they would immediately collapse and bury that person.

"Could it be that Ivy is learning magic here?" Cassandra thought, "No... If that's the case, why would he have to go to the Restricted Books Section?"

"And there are no personal belongings of Ivy left here. If he really practiced magic here, there should be things like notes and targets..." Cassandra looked around. Apart from dust and books, there was not even a place to sit in the room.

"What was I doing before that door appeared?" Cassandra tried to recall. "Pacing... and thinking about Ivy's secret? No, if that was the case, I should have come in a long time ago..."

Cassandra scanned the room again, and a flash of inspiration came into her mind: "Ah! I see! It's the book!"
