Chapter 63 Malfoy Manor

Chapter 63 Malfoy Manor

"We're here! Ivy." Malfoy pushed open the door and jumped out of the carriage, followed closely by Ivy.

What comes into view is a wrought iron gate that looks like a fine product, with all the edges and corners carefully polished. Every facade of the iron fence is smooth and round, without any sand holes or rust.

Malfoy stood in front of the door with a swagger. The bars of the wrought iron gate immediately twisted and turned into a hideous face, and said with a clanging metal friction sound: "Welcome home, Master Draco."

"Are mom and dad ready? This is the first time I bring friends home to play." Malfoy asked proudly, and glanced at Ivy secretly, perhaps hoping to find a little surprise on his face.

But Ivy looked normal, just looking at everything with calm eyes.

"Everything is as you wish, sir." The metal face on the wrought iron gate tried its best to appear kind and gentle, but the harsh metallic sound still destroyed all its efforts.

"Great! Let's go, Ivy!"

Malfoy called over his shoulder, and the wrought iron gate opened with a snap.

Passing through the exquisite wrought iron gate, Ivy and Malfoy stepped onto a path paved with bluestone bricks. There were neatly planted shrubs on both sides of the road, showing the exquisite craftsmanship of the gardener.

Beyond the shrubbery lies a carefully designed garden with a fountain and lovely lawns, which remain lush and green even in the dead of December.

A white shadow leaped up from the lawn, fluttered its wings and landed on the treetop. It was an elegant white peacock, which was tilting its head to observe the two people passing through the corridor.

At the end of the bluestone brick corridor is a luxurious Western-style building with a Gothic spire and bright glass. However, the slight mottled marks on the outer wall of the building reveal its age.

Although he has not actually entered the interior of the building, Ivy has fully understood the inner meaning of Malfoy Manor. He hopes that every guest who visits here can understand that the Malfoy family is a famous aristocratic family with a long history.

Ivy curled his lips. This approach might work for mediocre people who valued rules, but for those who possessed real power, it would only make them sneer.

Passing through the luxurious and spacious entrance hall, Ivy followed Malfoy into a reception room wrapped in purple wallpaper, where the owner of Malfoy Manor had been waiting for a long time.

"Ivy, this is my dad and mom." Malfoy introduced the three of them. "Mom and Dad, this is the Ivy I've been referring to, Ivy Doom."

"Nice to meet you, nice to meet you." The owner of the mansion, Lucius Malfoy, who had long light blond hair, smiled warmly and walked up to shake hands with Ivy. "As early as when we were in Diagon Alley, I felt that you must be an extraordinary person. Later, I kept hearing about your deeds in Draco's letters. After meeting you today, Mr. Doom is indeed as outstanding as the rumors say."

Ivy shook the hand that was shaking with Lucius slightly, and said without any intention of being polite: "Really? I didn't know I was so famous."

It seemed that in Lucius's social life, he had never seen someone as direct as Ivy, and the atmosphere at the scene began to become a little awkward. "Okay, Lucius, don't let Mr. Doom stand in the reception room all the time, otherwise people will say that the Malfoy family doesn't know how to entertain guests." Narcissa Malfoy spoke to ease the atmosphere. She was a beautiful woman who always had an arrogant and cold expression. Her fair skin seemed to be shining under the light. As the mistress of the Malfoy family, she was indeed noble and domineering.

Hearing his wife's attempt to smooth things over, Lucius nodded slightly and decided to end this unsuccessful first meeting. However, he was unable to pull his hand away from Ivy's.

"Mr. Doom?" Lucius's expression had just the right amount of doubt, as if he was blaming Ivy for being ignorant.

However, Lucius never understood that the initiative in this meeting was never on his side.

The smile on Ivy's face grew even bigger, and she grabbed Lucius's left arm. Under the velvet robe that best reflected the Malfoy family's wealth was Voldemort's Dark Mark.

Eleven years after Voldemort disappeared, Lucius Malfoy once again felt the burning pain brought by the Dark Mark. His face, which showed excellent self-control, showed a twisted look of surprise. If his son had not been beside him, perhaps Lucius's facial expression would have been richer.

"Dinner is ready, everyone please take your seats. And of course you, Draco." Seeing that the smiling Ivy had no intention of letting go of her husband, Narcissa hurriedly found an excuse to get her son away, because she knew very well that there was something on her husband's left forearm.

As a sensitive mother, she could not allow any possible dangerous situation to threaten her son.

"The dinners in our house are always sumptuous! Come on, Ivy! I'm starving." Malfoy, who had no idea of his father's situation, skipped towards the restaurant and shouted to his friends.

As a tool to show status, only core members of the Death Eaters are qualified to possess the Dark Mark. Lucius gained Voldemort's favor by relying on the Malfoy family's strong financial resources and status among pure-blood wizard families.

However, after Voldemort fell to a child, Lucius, who was used to changing his ways, immediately left the ranks of the Death Eaters and escaped prison by betraying his former companions and political donations. However, deep in his heart, he always hid his fear of Voldemort and was afraid that he would come back one day in the future.

Now the burning pain of the Dark Mark brought out the fear of Voldemort from the deepest part of his heart. Lucius looked at Malfoy leaving the living room, turned his head and stammered, "Please..."

Before he finished the second half of his sentence, Ivy suddenly let go of his left arm, which he had been holding in his hand. The burning pain brought to Lucius by the Dark Mark disappeared like a bubble.

"The luxury of the Malfoy family really opens my eyes. As a friend of Draco, please allow me to express my respects to you, Mr. Malfoy." Ivy said politely without any respect, then swept across the reception room of the mansion like a shadow and went to the place where the dinner was held.

Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy looked at each other, and both saw panic and helplessness in each other's eyes.

"If Draco..." Narcissa stopped talking before she could finish her words because Lucius pulled open the sleeve of his left arm.

In the past 11 years, the Dark Mark has never been as conspicuous as it is today. Lucius even feels that even when he was with Voldemort, the darkness coming from it was not as gloomy and heavy as it is now.
