Chapter 82: Weeping Quirrell and the Dark Wizard in the Forbidden Forest
Ivy didn't expect that Cassandra's target of revenge would be Voldemort.
According to her, the dark wizard who killed her parents was a Death Eater. Ivy didn't know where she came to this conclusion.
However, if we calculate according to the timeline of Voldemort's downfall, the dark wizard who was still obsessed with slaughtering those who intermarried with Muggles seven years after Voldemort's death was obviously an absolute diehard.
However, this diehard fan did not find the Black Forest of Albania through rumors, but went on a killing spree in a mansion in the English countryside.
It's hard to judge.
It is difficult to comment on either the bizarre train of thought of this dark wizard or the law enforcement capabilities of the Aurors in the British wizarding world.
Who would have thought that a Dark wizard still at large seven years after Voldemort's fall was killed by a Muggle using a spray gun?
But this was not a big problem for Ivy. Voldemort's lame pure-blood philosophy was laughable enough, and he might as well have converted to the embrace of social Darwinism.
At least the eight words "survival of the fittest" still apply in the magical world.
Now that Voldemort was right behind Quirrell's little head, perhaps it was time for him to have a taste of the "big melon" from his elders.
----
"Dumbledore said my broom was attacked by dark magic." Sitting on Hagrid's unicorn hair cushion, Harry took a sip of strong tea and said with a bitter face, "Can I have some sugar, Hagrid?"
"Your broom was attacked by Dark magic?" Ron was obviously hearing Harry mention this for the first time, so he opened his mouth as wide as Hagrid's to express his surprise.
"This is impossible! Hogwarts is the safest place in the world!" Hagrid, holding the sugar bowl, denied this statement with certainty.
"Dumbledore said so." Harry picked up a few sugar cubes from the rough earthenware jar and dropped them into the teacup in front of him. "Professor Dumbledore checked my broom after the last Quidditch match against Slytherin."
As soon as he heard Dumbledore's name, Hagrid, who had been confident, began to waver: "Maybe... there really is someone with ulterior motives who sneaked into Hogwarts."
"Have you told Dumbledore that someone is secretly spying on the Philosopher's Stone?" Hermione was concerned about something else.
"Of course, I told him the names of Snape and Quirrell as well." Harry tasted the sweetness of the tea, nodded with satisfaction, and continued, "But he told me: 'Who can remain calm about the Philosopher's Stone? But sometimes the more people want something, the further they push it. Don't worry, Harry, the Philosopher's Stone is well preserved by me.'"
Hearing Harry's hoarse imitation of Dumbledore's voice, the three children in the cabin laughed. They understood that everything that happened in the castle could not escape Dumbledore's eyes, and it seemed that Nicolas Flamel's Philosopher's Stone was also safe.
At this time, the door of the cabin was knocked by a new visitor.
"Come in, Ivy!" Harry ran over and opened the door. Ron took the opportunity to put the unicorn fur cushion under his butt.
Ivy used magic to clear the mud off his boots. It was always rainy in the spring in the British Isles, and the road from the castle to the cabin was not easy to walk on. "I understand!"
As soon as Ivy entered the room, he heard Hagrid shouting. He was stunned and asked, "What do you understand?"
"Oh, this is all thanks to you, Ivy." Harry enthusiastically poured him a cup of tea, found a few relatively intact sugar cubes from the sugar bowl, and even pushed the untouched rock cake on the table towards Ivy.
"If you hadn't added anti-Dark Arts charms to my broom, it wouldn't have survived our match!" said Harry happily.
"So someone used dark magic to attack your broom?" Ivy roughly understood that it was Quirrell who did it, but she didn't expect that his magic level was really not that good, and he couldn't even break through the anti-dark spell that Ivy had set.
"Dumbledore told me. He picked up my broom after the match that day," Harry continued to explain, "but I don't know who did it yet."
"Quirrel or Snape, they are the most suspicious because they both want to get the Philosopher's Stone." Hermione tried her best not to stare at Ivy and stated everyone's speculation.
"I guess it was Snape." Ron gave his reasons. "When I passed Quirrell's office that day, I heard him crying inside. The surroundings were extremely gloomy at the time, and the sound was creepy, so I hurried back to the Gryffindor common room."
"Besides, don't you think Quirrell is a little too—" Ron made a less-than-friendly gesture, as if he knew Dark wizards well, "cowardly, as far as Dark wizards are concerned?"
"Passing Quirrell's office?" The perceptive Hermione noticed the blind spot and shot a suspicious look at Ron. "That's not on the way from the Great Hall to the Common Room!"
Ron's expression was as if someone had grabbed his neck. He explained vaguely, "Oh, I was coming back from somewhere else, so I passed by Quirrell's office."
"Somewhere else? I think it's Filch's office?" Hermione's eyes widened, as if she would eat Ron alive in the next second. "When did you lose points from Gryffindor again? What was it because of this time? The mud on your feet, or the dung bombs your two brothers gave you!"
Harry knew he had to interrupt Hermione's tirade: "I can feel that Snape hates me. He has more reason to do that than Quirrell."
"No! They are all professors at the school, they would never do such a thing! Dumbledore would not allow it!" Hagrid interrupted their "grounded accusations" with a serious expression, "It must be some dark wizard who sneaked into the Forbidden Forest!"
The three little ones took a deep breath at the same time, making an indelible contribution to global warming.
Hermione looked out the window worriedly, from where she could see a corner of the Forbidden Forest: "I've never heard of any dark wizards in the Forbidden Forest."
"Oh, don't worry," Hagrid said soothingly, "They don't dare go near Hogwarts. There's magic in the castle to protect you. Not to mention Dumbledore."
"Are you sure?" Harry asked doubtfully. "They even enchanted my broom!"
"That's because the Quidditch field is not far from the Forbidden Forest." Hagrid explained. He also kindly advised the young wizards not to get close to the Forbidden Forest. "Especially you, Ivy. I know you like magical animals as much as I do, but the Forbidden Forest has been uneasy recently. Many descendants of Aragog have disappeared. It must be the work of the hateful dark wizards! How could anyone want to hurt those furry little cuties?"
Ivy almost sprayed tea in Hagrid's face because he knew where all the missing Acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest had gone.
