Chapter 328 Behead!
boom!
The knights drew their second muskets and fired another volley, instantly killing a group of soldiers who had secretly raised their guns.
The soldiers who came out were just standing, while the knights were all on horseback. They had excellent visibility and could spot any small movement by the enemy at a glance. Their high vantage point also made it easier to fire.
With a whoosh, the prince drew his longsword: "Soldiers, join your lord in slaying the traitor!"
Having said that, he took the lead, sword in hand, and charged toward Rad, with the knights flanking him on either side, advancing together.
The prince's golden curls danced in the wind, and behind him stood knights in gleaming armor.
The soldiers' gazes followed the arc of the longsword in his hand, until it struck Rad.
Rad was so frightened that he fell to the ground with a thud.
Having lived in Blood Harbor for so long and managed the harbor guards, he had never actually been on the battlefield. Now, facing the prince's murderous gaze, his mind went blank.
Some of his personal guards threw down their weapons, while others hesitated and stood still. Only a few raised their muskets.
The prince raised his hand and fired a shot. Their muskets were ready beforehand and could be fired with a pull of the trigger, while the soldiers on the other side were frantically pouring gunpowder into their guns.
It wasn't until the prince rushed in front of them that they realized what was happening and prepared to draw their swords.
It was too late; the prince's sword sliced through their flesh.
Some of the more clever ones drew their swords early, but before they could strike, Galahad, who was following behind the prince, swung his sword lightly down, cutting them and their parrying weapons in two.
The prince rode up to Rad and tapped his blood-dripping, cold sword on Rad's face.
Rad shuddered, instinctively wanting to run for his life, but his limbs were already weak and he couldn't move. He staggered a couple of steps and fell to the ground.
Suddenly, he remembered something and quickly turned around, wailing and begging for mercy:
"Your Highness, Your Highness, I've been bewitched. It's that group."
The prince's expression was contemptuous, a flash of ferocity crossing his face. With a twirl and a flick of his longsword, Rad's head flew into the air. Galahad, behind him, caught it, raised it high, and roared in all directions:
"The rebellious Rad is dead! Put down your guns!"
Among the soldiers, only a minority knew about Rad's plot, and now, seeing his head, they all threw down their weapons without hesitation and knelt down.
The prince shook the blood off his sword, looked around, pulled on the reins, and rode his horse through the military camp.
He gazed indifferently at everything before him, his face showing neither excitement nor lingering fear, as if he had only done something insignificant.
Sunlight fell on him, his rugged and handsome face like a statue, and his golden curly hair reflected a halo, as if the heavens were crowning him.
Occasionally, soldiers would look up and be stunned by the sight. He seemed like a born king, even walking through the rebel camp as if he were inspecting his own kingdom.
His longsword was dripping with blood.
The soldiers knelt on both sides, all submitting, while the knights patrolled the camp, slaughtering all of Rad's personal guards.
All of this happened just minutes after they stormed into the camp.
Within minutes, the harbor guards who had intended to rebel all surrendered. Elwin and Connor, standing outside, exchanged a glance, both seeing the shock in each other's eyes.
They broke through the camp gates, seized the initiative, killed the resisters, and quickly took control of the situation.
Everything seemed to be going incredibly smoothly, but the two knew that if the prince made a single wrong move, it would be a situation of utter ruin.
The soldiers' guns were unloaded, but the guards' guns were ready to fire. Galahad simply blasted open the gate, and the charging knights rushed in, raising their guns and firing, giving them no time to react.
After rushing into the camp, Rad gave orders in a moment of chaos. Although the soldiers didn't react in time, the guards were all ready to attack. At this moment, the knights' second volley caught them off guard, and then they immediately rushed up to kill them.
The knights who followed the prince only carried two guns, and it was with these two shots that they managed to break the enemy's siege and kill Rad in the port guards' headquarters.
The prince was also very decisive. After taking control of the situation, he killed Rad without hesitation to eliminate any future troubles, so that no matter what tricks Rad had up his sleeve, he wouldn't be able to use them.
Cold sweat began to seep down Erwin's back. Could he have accomplished such a feat if he had ten Guardians of the Church and one superhuman?
The prince succeeded; not a single member of the team was injured.
As expected of Lord Tiss, who unified the chaos in the East and integrated all the rebel forces within the Empire, Erwin seriously considered for the first time the chances of winning the war between Tiss and the Empire.
It might be difficult. On the other side is the well-established Saint Mir Empire, which is also joined by several churches. Whether it is a mortal army or a supernatural force, it is an overwhelming disadvantage.
What about the prince? What's on the prince's side?
The prince's gaze fell upon the Castel people.
Erwin took a deep breath, suppressed the turmoil in his mind, and nodded slightly in acknowledgment.
The prince turned and gave Galahad a few instructions, then walked out of the camp alone, sheathing his longsword.
He waved to the Castel group outside, a smile spreading across his face: "Everyone, everything is going smoothly. Let's take a short break and head to the docks."
As he said, several teams soon emerged from the camp, with the port guards on horseback at the front, followed by infantry.
Galahad calmly issued orders, while lower-ranking officers reprimanded the soldiers as they marched in formation.
These officers were all more or less connected to Rad, and at this moment they were vying to show themselves off, afraid of being mistaken for Rad's accomplices.
The soldiers of the Hong Kong Guard were now filled with fervor, and every now and then some of them would look up at the prince.
They had just witnessed the prince slay the rebels; his decisive and fearless demeanor, coupled with his resolute and handsome face, completely won over the soldiers.
At this moment, the prince personally led the team. Although the strategy was somewhat rushed, the soldiers' morale was extremely high.
Erwin looked closely at the port guards and frowned.
“They only brought a small amount of ammunition, and no rations or supplies at all,” Erwin said quietly.
Connor pointed to the soldiers behind him: "These soldiers aren't even fully armored, they're just carrying weapons."
Several people looked at each other.
"This prince's tactics are very aggressive."
“Indeed, if it were me, after gaining control of the entire port guard camp, I would not choose to launch a hasty attack, but rather use this place as a center to slowly advance outwards, control the troops, and proceed steadily.” Erwin stroked his chin.
