Chapter 390: Leading astray
"haven't seen you for a long time."

Weiss was the first to break the silence. His voice was low and magnetic, as if every word carried an invisible magic. It slowly echoed in the slightly empty top floor of the Mage Tower, making the atmosphere of the entire space even more mysterious and solemn.

Tony narrowed his eyes slightly and stared at Wes closely, his sharp eyes trying to read something from Wes's face that was like a deep pool, even if it was a slight emotional fluctuation, but Wes's face was as calm as a lake without ripples, leaving him with nothing, which made Tony even more alert.

"why?"

Steve could no longer suppress the rage in his heart. He clenched his fists, the bulging veins from exerting force seeming to speak of his current fury and unwillingness. His voice trembled slightly with excitement as he asked, "Why did you kill so many people?"

"what why?"

Weiss, however, acted as if he had heard an insignificant question, his tone flat, he only raised his eyebrows slightly, a hint of doubt in his eyes.

"Why kill so many people?"

Steve gritted his teeth and repeated his question word by word, his eyes fixed on Wes, as if trying to find an answer from him that he would accept.

"They were the first to do it."

Weiss spread his hands, his face still calm, as if he was narrating a commonplace event, "The war has begun."

"You're taking on the entire United States by yourself??"

Tony's eyes widened in disbelief. He raised his voice, which was particularly loud in this enclosed space. "You have no idea what you're facing."

Weiss interrupted him calmly, raised his hand and waved it gently, his tone carrying a hint of unquestionable certainty: "It's the US government that doesn't know what they're about to face."

Following Weiss's action, a grand and shocking picture appeared out of thin air, suspended in mid-air.

That was the time of the Big Bang. The entire scene was filled with endless light and heat, as if it could break through the constraints of time and space, and present the grandeur and chaos at the beginning of the universe directly before everyone's eyes.

In that violent energy explosion, six gems shining with strange light were produced. They each exuded a unique aura, representing the six attributes of space, time, reality, power, mind, and soul. They seemed to be the six original forces bestowed by the universe on all things, mysterious and powerful to the point of being unimaginable.

"Is that the Tesseract??"

Tony and Steve spoke almost at the same time. They recognized the gem emitting a faint blue light at a glance, and their eyes were full of shock.

In the past, they only knew that the Cosmic Cube had incredible power, but they did not expect that it was just one of the six mysterious gems and had such a shocking origin.

"Its true name is the Space Stone..." Weiss nodded slightly, his gaze settling on the blue gem. A glint of light flashed in his eyes as he began to explain the origins of the Infinity Stones to the two. "Each gem contains the most primitive and purest power of the universe. They are scattered throughout the universe, waiting to be discovered over the course of countless ages, or rather, waiting for someone with a destiny to master them."

"Collecting all six Infinity Stones can make any wish come true." Wes's voice was still low, but this sentence was like a bombshell, exploding in the ears of Tony and Steve.

"Nonsense," Tony retorted immediately, frowning with suspicion and disdain on his face, "How could such a ridiculous thing happen? It's not..."

In his cognitive world built on science and rationality, such a statement is simply a fantasy and completely violates all the principles and logic he firmly believes in.

However, when he looked into Wes's eyes, he found that Wes's eyes were extremely serious, not even a joking intention. Tony's heart trembled, and his voice unconsciously lowered: "You are serious."

Weiss nodded, his eyes becoming deeper. "The man behind Loki and the Chitauri is Thanos, a cosmic overlord obsessed with collecting the Infinity Stones."

As soon as he finished speaking, the scene instantly switched to a scene where Thanos led his army to invade other civilizations.

The cosmic army covered the sky and the sun, and all kinds of strange-shaped warships and creatures emitting powerful auras were densely packed throughout the starry sky. Wherever they went, the planets fell into war and were in ruins.

The destructive power displayed by the powerful cosmic army made Tony and Steve's faces more serious. They pursed their lips, their hearts full of shock and worry.

Planet after planet was quickly occupied by Thanos' army, and those worlds that were once full of vitality and prosperity were reduced to ruins in an instant. What made the two even more stunned was that after conquering a planet, Thanos would wipe out half of the population.

Watching the countless lives in the picture disappearing in despair and turning into spots of light floating in the universe, Tony and Steve felt a chill rising from the bottom of their hearts. They could not understand the reason for doing this at all, and their hearts were filled with anger and fear towards this so-called "overlord of the universe".

"Is he crazy?"

Steve widened his eyes and muttered to himself, with an uncontrollable tremor in his voice. It was the unbearable loss of life and the anger at Thanos' cruel behavior.

They really couldn't understand what kind of reason could make a person do such a cruel thing. It was beyond their comprehension.

It was as if it had opened a door to a world of darkness and madness, allowing them to see the extremely cruel side of the universe.

Of course, Si knew the reason, but he glanced at Tony and Steve who were shocked and didn't intend to continue explaining.

"What does this have to do with Earth? The Space Stone has been taken back to Asgard by Thor." Tony asked with a frown.

"There's another Time Stone on Earth."

"shit!"

Tony couldn't help but curse under his breath, his expression becoming increasingly uglier.

When he thought about the huge crisis that the earth was about to face, his heart felt heavy as if it was being pressed down by a huge rock.

"That means Thanos is likely to lead his army to attack Earth."

Steve clenched his fists, his eyes revealing an unprecedented seriousness.

That would be an unprecedented disaster. The Earth would likely be reduced to ruins under Thanos's iron hoof, and countless lives would be lost, just like the planets they had just seen in the picture, but they were not yet prepared. Even before that, they were completely unaware of all this.

Tony's mind flashed with the scene of the Earth being invaded by the space army, the city collapsed in the artillery fire, people screamed and fled in despair, and the blue planet that was once full of life became a mess.

Thinking that the powerful cosmic army would descend on Earth one day, Tony felt a sense of urgency in his heart, as if an invisible clock was ticking in his ears, and every second that passed made him more anxious.
I can't wait to go back and tell the other superheroes this terrible news, and then discuss countermeasures together. Even if there is only a glimmer of hope, we must try our best to protect the earth and their home.
