Chapter 42 Arrival at the Burrow
Chapter 42 Arrival at the Burrow
A hint of surprise appeared on Wes's face and his brows furrowed slightly. He didn't expect that he would be invited to the Weasley's house for Christmas.
"Invite me to your house for Christmas?" he repeated, a hint of uncertainty in his tone.
The twin brothers, Fred and George, immediately broke into bright smiles upon hearing Wes's question.
"Mom heard about how we did in school this year," Fred said excitedly.
"No trick-or-treating at school," George added with pride.
"She knows we studied alchemy with you," Fred continued.
"Want to thank you," George concluded.
After the twin brothers finished speaking, they both looked at Weiss, their eyes full of expectation as they waited for his answer.
After spending some time together, Wes has become accustomed to this rapid-fire way of communication.
"Christmas?" Si whispered to himself.
Weiss has always lived a solitary life, devoting himself to the study of magic and has never had any deep interactions with anyone.
This was the first time in his life that he received an invitation from someone else, and for him, it was undoubtedly a novel and unique experience.
Moreover, Wes has always been curious about Mr. Weasley's creative car modifications.
"Well, why not."
Weiss finally agreed. He looked at his twin brothers who jumped up with excitement, and the corners of his mouth rose slightly, revealing a faint smile.
Then he asked, "Do I need to prepare anything?"
"Nothing," the twins replied in unison, their smiles growing even wider.
"Mom will be so happy."
As they talked, they skipped away, their cheerful figures like two energetic little birds.
They were eager to tell Mrs. Weasley the good news.
Wes didn't plan to go to the visit empty-handed, so he spent a lot of time carefully selecting a gift.
He carefully considered every gift, striving to ensure that it would suit the Weasley family's preferences while also expressing his own feelings.
Finally, the Christmas holiday is here.
Wes and the Weasley children were sitting in the same carriage with Hermione.
There was a cheerful atmosphere in the carriage. Wes bought a bunch of candies for the children. The colorful candy wrappers sparkled in the sunlight.
Ginny was a little shy. She sat quietly in the corner, secretly looking at Weiss, the stranger, from time to time.
Percy was very enthusiastic. He took the initiative to talk to Wes, but his words and actions made Wes feel that he was a little "pretentious".
Percy tried hard to act like an adult, and every move he made seemed mature and steady. However, that deliberate performance made Weiss see his inner immaturity.
Hermione was like a talking encyclopedia, constantly asking Weiss a lot of questions.
Ron couldn't help but complain to her: "Even candy can't shut you up?"
After being glared at by Hermione, Ron was so scared that he quickly stuffed a piece of chocolate into his mouth. His panicked look made everyone laugh.
Soon, the train arrived at Platform 9 and 3/4.
As soon as they got off the train, Wes saw Mrs. Weasley waving to them enthusiastically.
A warm smile graced her face.
Ginny jumped off the train happily and flew into Mrs. Weasley's arms like a bird returning to its nest.
It was the first time Ginny had been away from home for so long, and her longing for her mother surged like a tide.
Mrs. Weasley kept stroking Ginny's little head gently, tears streaming from the corners of her eyes.
"We meet again, Wes."
Arthur strode over and gave Wes a warm hug, a hug that was strong and full of sincerity. "Fred and George must have caused you a lot of trouble."
"Hello, Mr. Weasley." Wes responded politely.
"Call me Arthur..." Arthur said with a smile.
"Arthur." After Wes changed his words, the smile on Arthur's face became even brighter.
"Fred and George are very clever children, they have extraordinary talent in alchemy."
Hearing Weiss's praise, the twins raised their heads proudly and deliberately acted arrogant.
The exaggerated expression made everyone laugh.
Hermione also reunited with her parents, and they exchanged blessings and then parted ways.
Originally, Weiss wanted to try the flying car, but unfortunately the car had been confiscated by the Ministry of Magic, which made him feel a little regretful.
When they arrived at the Weasley family's home, the Burrow, a four-story, crooked house came into view. The house looked like it might collapse at any time, giving people a shaky feeling.
There was a large garden outside, and Wes also saw a few goblins in it. They were busy shuttling around in the garden, adding a sense of vitality and vigor to the garden.
There is also a shed where various tools and sundries are stored.
As soon as we entered the house, everyone couldn't wait to take off their coats. The warmth inside the house formed a sharp contrast with the cold outside.
But there were so many people in the Weasley family that the house was a little noisy.
Ron was eager to be the first upstairs, but was stopped by the twins.
They pushed each other with mischievous smiles on their faces.
Ginny relied on her small stature to nimbly squeeze past her three brothers. Her agile figure made people laugh.
After a lot of chaos, everyone finally packed their luggage.
Mrs. Weasley began busily preparing dinner, and several children came running to help.
However, they were clumsy and either knocked over the dishes or spilled the seasoning, which only made Mrs. Weasley's workload more difficult.
Arthur stood aside, feeling helpless and shrugged helplessly.
He was not good at cooking and could only stand by and worry.
The same was true for Wes. He seemed a little overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the kitchen.
But he has an almighty butler who can always solve various problems for him whenever he needs it.
Wes opened the suitcase and Jandi came out of it.
No one was curious about Jandi, as house-elves were not uncommon creatures in the wizarding world.
The Weasley family, especially Arthur and the twin brothers, were very interested in Wes's magical suitcase.
They gathered around the suitcase, carefully examining this unusual magical item.
As a person with a deep interest in magical items, Arthur's eyes were full of admiration for this high-level magic prop.
The curiosity of the twin brothers, Fred and George, was completely aroused. They took turns stroking the suitcase, trying to find more secrets from it.
Weiss saw their interest and graciously handed them the suitcase so they could get a closer look.
"Oh, Merlin's beard! It's the skin of a dragon!"
Fred's exclamation instantly caught everyone's attention. His fingers gently stroked the surface of the suitcase, and the texture and temperature confirmed his judgment.
"The skin of a fire dragon??"
George, who was closest, snatched the box away and examined it carefully with wide eyes.
Others also came over, and everyone was attracted by this magical suitcase.
Arthur seemed more professional. He took out a pair of glasses and carefully examined every corner of the suitcase. He knew that dragon skin was a very precious material, and being able to use it to make a magic suitcase was an extraordinary skill in itself.
"This is indeed fire dragon skin." Arthur came to the conclusion after observing for a while.
"How many gold Galleons is this worth!" Ron's eyes lit up and his mouth was almost watering.
Countless gold Galleons appeared in his mind, and he imagined the scene of possessing so much wealth.
"We can't even afford it even if we sell our house," Percy exclaimed. "Is a professor's salary that high?"
"How could the professor have that much money?" Weiss shrugged. "My funds are all obtained by selling the treasures I obtained from adventures."
"It took me a lot of effort to make this suitcase."
Wes felt a pang of pain when he thought about the money he had spent to collect the materials to make the suitcase.
"Professor, what's in the suitcase?"
Everyone was very curious about what was in Wes's valuable box.
"A secret." Seeing that Wes was unwilling to tell, the Weasleys did not force him.
They know that everyone has their own secrets and respecting the privacy of others is a virtue.
"Dinner is ready," Mrs. Weasley's voice came from the kitchen.
The small dining table was full of people, everyone was laughing and talking, and the atmosphere was very warm.
Mrs. Weasley was very happy that there were guests at home this year, but she was a little disappointed that her eldest son Bill and second son Charlie did not come back due to work.
The dinner was very rich, filled with all kinds of delicious food, presumably to entertain Wes, the guest. However, no matter how much food there was, it was quickly devoured by the four adolescent boys.
They were like little wolves that had been hungry for a long time.
Mrs. Weasley was delighted: "Looks like I'll have to prepare a few more things for Christmas dinner tomorrow."
