Chapter 46 News in the Tavern
【This guy is not an ordinary person. 】

The boss thought to himself as he looked at Wes who looked calm and ignored these greedy pirates.

"What does the guest want to ask?" The boss's attitude became obviously more respectful, and he handed a glass of rum to Wes.

"Jack Sparrow." Wes said slowly and unhurriedly, his voice clearly audible in the noisy tavern.

"Jack Sparrow? He's looking for the captain of the Black Pearl." A pirate said in surprise. His words were like a stone thrown into a calm lake, instantly causing ripples in the tavern.

When the other pirates heard this familiar name, they immediately became excited. They turned their heads and whispered to each other, with discussions rising one after another.

"That's a famous pirate!" another pirate added excitedly.

They seemed to be talking about a legendary figure, a being that they both feared and admired.

The pirates recalled the legends about Jack Sparrow, those thrilling adventures and amazing feats.

At this time, the tavern was filled with a strong smell of rum, smoke, and dim lights flickering, giving people a mysterious and dangerous atmosphere.

"It looks like that guy is a big star." A faint smile appeared on Wes's lips, his eyes fixed on the boss, as if silently conveying a kind of expectation.

"You won't let me down, will you?"

His eyes were deep, revealing a power that could almost see into people's hearts.

Outside, the waves kept hitting the shore, making a rumbling sound, and the sea breeze whistled past with the salty smell of the sea, as if adding a bit of nature's wildness to the tense atmosphere in the tavern.

As the confrontation between Wes and the boss continued, the noise in the tavern gradually died down, and all eyes were focused on the two of them, waiting for the answer to be revealed.

The boss wondered why he was so interested in Jack Sparrow and tried to figure out the true identity and intentions of this mysterious visitor.

Driven by gold coins, the boss intends to tell Wes some unimportant information.

He was about to speak when two pirates staggered over.

One of the pirates had a flushed face and a drunken look in his eyes. He held a flintlock rifle tightly in his hand, with the muzzle pointing directly at Wes's forehead, with an aggressive aura.

The other pirate was even more presumptuous. He casually picked up the glass of rum on the bar, raised his lips arrogantly, and shouted, "What? Is this wine unworthy of a noble lord?"

"My name is Buggy, and I used to be on the Black Pearl." As soon as Buggy finished speaking with a hint of pride, the pirates in the tavern immediately let out exclamations.

The tavern at this moment was like a noisy nest.

The air was filled with the suffocating smell of rum, the sweat emanating from the pirates, and the salty smell of sea water. The entire tavern seemed to have turned into a huge melting pot filled with all kinds of pungent smells.

Bucky thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of being the center of attention. He raised his chin slightly, his eyes gleaming with excitement, and the muscles on his face trembled slightly with pride.

Everyone's eyes were focused on him, as if he had instantly become an important and awe-inspiring figure.

"Hand over all your gold coins," Bucky burped loudly, and the strong smell of alcohol instantly filled the air. He continued, his words tinged with threats and greed, "I may consider letting you go."

Weiss was too lazy to talk to such a stupid guy. He just waved his hand lightly, his movement was elegant and powerful.

The pirate who was pointing a gun at his head was hit by an invisible force and was instantly knocked away.

The pirate's body drew an arc in the air and slammed heavily onto several tables. The wine glasses and bottles on the tables rolled down, making crisp shattering sounds.

The pirate never got up again after landing. The surrounding pirates watched in horror, not daring to breathe. Some stared with eyes wide open in disbelief, while others gaped with their mouths wide open, as if an egg could fit in. "What's going on?" One pirate's voice trembled with fear, his voice echoing throughout the tavern, causing a wave of unease.

"What happened?" another pirate shouted in panic, his body involuntarily taking a few steps back.

"Wizard!! He's a wizard!!" a knowledgeable pirate shouted loudly, with undisguised panic in his voice.

According to rumors, wizards are more terrifying and evil than pirates.

The pirates in the tavern stood up in panic and scrambled to stay away from Wes. They seemed to have seen a demon from hell.

Wes used the petrification spell to freeze Bucky. Bucky struggled desperately, his facial muscles twisted, veins popped on his forehead, and his eyes were filled with fear and despair, but he couldn't move at all.

As Wes approached, Bucky's heart was filled with regret. He had been cautious for most of his life, but because of a moment of drunkenness, he acted recklessly.

But now, it's too late.

Weiss's black pupils were like deep whirlpools, and Bucky's eyes instantly became dull, as if he had lost his soul.

Wes used Legilimency on Bucky and directly read Bucky's memory.

But the result disappointed him. Bucky had indeed been a sailor on the Black Pearl, but he had left the ship long ago and knew nothing about Jack Sparrow's whereabouts.

"A waste of time." Weiss frowned slightly and turned his gaze to the tavern owner, his eyes full of expectation and majesty. "I've already been disappointed once."

At this moment, the tavern owner cursed Bucky and his friend's ancestors for eighteen generations in his heart.

His face was pale, his forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, and his body was trembling slightly. He forced an ugly smile and said:
"Of course I won't disappoint the honorable wizard."

The boss didn't dare to hide anything, as he knew very well that the mysterious wizard in front of him was not someone he could afford to offend.

He told Weiss everything he knew about Jack Sparrow, hoping to appease the powerful wizard.

Since defeating Davy Jones, Jack Sparrow has disappeared from the sea. Only a few people have seen him, but everyone believes that this lonely guy must be planning something big.

Hector Barbossa encountered Blackbeard Edward Teach on the sea while driving the Black Pearl. He was defeated by the latter and lost a leg. He had no choice but to join the British Royal Navy and became a legal sea plunderer.

"That's all I know," the boss said, worried that Wes wouldn't believe him, and almost swore by his own mother.

His eyes were filled with nervousness and uneasiness, fearing that Weiss would be dissatisfied with his information. His voice trembled a little, "Really, Master Wizard, I dare not lie to you."

"So it's this time," Weiss already knew when he had traveled to, "The Fountain of Youth?" He whispered to himself, as if he was thinking about some important decision.

Weiss took out another gold coin and threw it gracefully to the tavern owner.

"Your information is very useful. This is compensation for the broken tables and chairs." Wes said, then stood up and left the pub.

The pirates in front of him made way for him, fearing that they would anger the mysterious wizard.

The tavern owner looked at the two gold coins in his hand with confusion. He was afraid that they were cursed, but in the end he couldn't bear to part with them and put them carefully into his pocket.

"Spend them quickly, and even if there is a curse, transfer it to someone else." The tavern owner muttered to himself as he picked up the petrified Bucky and threw him onto the street.

As for whether Bucky will starve to death, be eaten by some animal, or survive until the petrification spell wears off, it all depends on his luck.
