The Lord of the Laws of Heaven

Chapter 39 Know it well

Chapter 39 Know it well
"A gentleman helps others to be good, not to be evil; a villain does the opposite..."

A child sat on a small stool in front of the window, holding a book in his hands. Although his voice was not loud, his speech was clear. Next to him was a woman sitting beside him, watching the child reading the book.

The books on hand are a bit old and a little yellowed, but they are all well maintained.

If there were any problems with pronunciation or punctuation during the reading, the woman next to him would point them out directly. Finally, after finishing the chapter, the child turned around and bowed respectfully to the woman next to him.

"Mom, I have finished studying. Can I go out and play now?" The child said this to his biological mother in this life.

"Okay." The woman next to him nodded immediately, then changed the subject: "But you have to recite this passage you read to me tonight."

"Ah... okay..." The child was surprised at first, then replied reluctantly.

"Okay, I have to go do my work. You can read a book, play for a while, and then you have to remember the lessons you need to recite today!" After saying that, the child's mother got up and left.

After watching his mother leave, the child's original expression instantly disappeared and became calm.

The child looked at his own small hands and felt helpless.

"This body is still too young." The child sighed inwardly, "I didn't expect that I would still be called Xiao Jun in this world. This world is indeed the world of "The Greatest Sage of Confucianism and Taoism."

In this world known as the Holy Land of Confucianism and Taoism, as long as someone achieves something in literature and Taoism, God will bestow a burst of talent upon him. With talent, he can directly control the vital energy of heaven and earth.

In addition to the talent bestowed by God, one can also gain talent by passing the imperial examination and obtaining a literary position.

Generally speaking, there are two ways to acquire talent in this world. Both are essentially assessments, but one uses humans as the examiner, and the other uses God as the examiner.

Once you have literary achievements, God will bless you with talent directly based on your literary achievements.

Generally speaking, the achievements of literature and Taoism are in the hands of the founders, and only the founders can receive the blessing of God. However, in this world, an anomaly appeared, and that was the protagonist of this world, Fang Yun.

Fang Yun directly borrowed the literary and Taoist achievements of another world and obtained talent and resources from the God of this world.

"Now the world has another anomaly. But for me, there's no need to plagiarize. I only care about two things: the first is the fruits of this world's civilization and wisdom, and the second is my understanding of what talent is."

Looking at the Analects in his hand, Xiao Jun put the book aside. He had acquired consciousness in the womb and naturally possessed a vast knowledge base. From birth until now, all Xiao Jun had to do was comprehend this knowledge base.

In fact, the most important thing is the knowledge of Taoism and Buddhism, because Taoism tells the mystery of life, while Buddhism tells the mystery of the mind, and the two can complement and verify each other.

Since he was born, Xiao Jun has shown a talent for quick thinking, which makes his parents very happy. In this world, reading is productivity. If there is a seed of reading in the family, they will do their best to support him.

Xiao Jun's family could be considered a noble family, but because they had gradually become very distant from the main line, they could only be considered commoners. In this world, if you were a commoner, you could at least still study.

His grandfather had once been a scholar, and while that didn't change much about his family's circumstances, at least some poetry and literature had been passed down. In this world, poetry and literature were essentially tools of production, and unless one was truly destitute, one would never sell their own poetry and literature.

With poetry and books, you have the opportunity to change your destiny.

"Because I'm very quick-witted, I was asked to recite poetry and books every day when I was only one and a half years old. But for me, I have a photographic memory. What I really want is to analyze the way of the soul. I want to use my talent to understand what the soul is!"

Sitting on the stool, he began to meditate with his eyes closed, eliminating external interference, and in his mind, he brought out a large amount of classic Taoist scriptures and knowledge.

"A person's thinking ability depends on their thoughts. There are limits to how much they can think." Xiao Jun's mind was perfectly calm, observing the thoughts that kept emerging from within. The number of these thoughts determined a person's thinking ability, and in other words, their thinking ability.

"Missing someone comes from mental energy. Once a person's mental energy is exhausted, they will become very tired and need to rest to replenish their mental energy."

"The effect of mental strength is limited by factors such as a person's wisdom, knowledge, and physical strength."

This is easy to understand. If a person is very wise, they can always find their own problems quickly, and then use wisdom to change their own character. After changing their character, their mental strength will become stronger.

If a person is always calculating and obsessed with trivial matters, his mental strength cannot be great. A person who has experienced the vicissitudes of life and a dullard who has only studied books have different insights, so their mental strength is also different.

A person who always enjoys himself will definitely have weaker mental strength.

Wisdom and insight can be changed through acquired experiences and through reading and self-cultivation.

Physical fitness will also affect a person's mental strength. Stronger people are, the stronger their mental strength will be. An adult's mental strength will be stronger than that of a child.

Mental strength determines the number and efficiency limit of a person's thoughts and determines a person's ability to make intelligent deductions.

Xiao Jun has come up with this rule because he constantly comprehends a lot of truths every day and observes his own thoughts. He has a clear idea of this rule in his mind.

Know what’s going on!

A person's daily thoughts are limited, and so are their daily emotions. Every thought, every emotion, consumes mental energy. Once this energy is depleted, rest is needed to restore it and allow further thought. If one continues to think despite exhaustion, Xiao Jun calls this "exhausting one's heart and soul." What's being consumed is no longer mental energy, but rather one's lifeblood, the essence of life itself. Throughout Earth's history, countless individuals have worked themselves to the bone, gaining wisdom, but most have died young.

This is why extreme wisdom leads to harm, and why Heaven is jealous of talented people. Most geniuses possess extremely high wisdom, but their lifespans are very short, and this is caused by their own mistakes.

Xiao Jun has been contemplating the principle of "knowing what's going on in one's mind", using this principle to analyze the mysteries of wisdom and talent.

"According to science, the average person has between 6000 and 8 thoughts every day, but % of these thoughts are meaningless, and % are repetitive thoughts from the previous day."

'Transforming these repetitive, meaningless thoughts and making efficient use of them is the way to improve wisdom.'

"And also improving my own mental strength and the efficiency of using my life force. These are all things I need to study."

Xiao Jun's little head began to work on his thoughts and he began to make some plans for the future.

'Through the method of cessation and contemplation, one can understand the laws of one's own thoughts.'

'The secret of counting the number of thoughts and their changes.'

"Improve your physical fitness through health preservation. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind."

'Contemplate and reflect on various principles, and change your mindset.'

"Use the method of meditation to cleanse the dirt of the mind and allow thoughts to flow without any obstacles."

'...'

These plans were all formulated by Xiao Jun based on the principle of "knowing what's going on in your mind". They can also be called a kind of mental method, which is Xiao Jun's exploration of the way of wisdom.

After listing these plans, Xiao Jun first observed his own thoughts and understood the patterns within them. He then contemplated knowledge and principles, concentrating on them and shifting his thoughts, improving his thinking efficiency.

And memorize these rules in your mind, and be prepared to use mathematical methods to calculate and analyze the mysteries.

As for the method of health preservation, it is very simple. Xiao Jun is proficient in medicine, and various Taoist classics talk about the way of health preservation, which can be improved.

The final meditation can be performed while sleeping. However, it is said that the truly powerful spiritual practice can achieve meditation while walking, sitting, standing or lying down. Xiao Jun cannot achieve this, but he can strive for it.

After sorting out the implementation methods of these plans, Xiao Jun felt very satisfied.

……

From then on, Xiao Jun would start reading for an hour as soon as he woke up in the morning, observing, sorting out and changing his thoughts through reading.

Then, I started to go out and do a combination of dynamic and static exercises to regulate my body's qi and allow myself to grow well.

After that, you can sit in meditation, concentrate your thoughts and realize various principles.

At night, I would lie down on the bed, but instead of falling into a deep sleep, I would feel the dirt in my mind and then get rid of it, then go into deep meditation to cleanse my mind. The next morning, I would wake up from meditation and repeat the above steps.

What Xiao Jun did was to start with small things one by one, which in itself is a manifestation of "knowing what's going on".

Through this practice, Xiao Jun could feel his mental strength growing, his thinking becoming sharper, and his wisdom increasing daily. This further verified the correctness of Xiao Jun's principle of "knowing what's going on in your heart."

During this process, his parents in this life added the burden of study to Xiao Jun every day, but in the final analysis, it was still things like memorizing the Four Books and Five Classics. What they thought was a burden was nothing more than a simple recollection of knowledge for Xiao Jun.

Everything went on in an orderly manner. When Xiao Jun was three years old, he was able to hold a brush firmly, and it was time for him to start training his calligraphy.

In his calligraphy training, Xiao Jun also incorporated some methods of cultivating concentration and focus, and every time he wrote a word, he infused it with his own wisdom and thoughts.

Through the process of reading, practicing calligraphy, and even comprehending truths, Xiao Jun realized the inner meaning of literary cultivation. Literary cultivation is still a spiritual cultivation, not so-called talent.

Xiao Jun's curiosity about talent is essentially still curiosity about the process of talent improving wisdom and thinking. Xiao Jun wants to analyze talent!

During his daily practice, Xiao Jun not only felt that his thoughts were becoming more and more lively, but his mental strength also continued to grow stronger over time, indicating that his practice was effective.

However, Xiao Jun was not satisfied after all. After deeply understanding a large number of Buddhist scriptures, Xiao Jun continued to improve his analytical theory on the essence of wisdom.
