Two Worlds: I studied abroad at Hogwarts
Chapter 19 Daily Prophet's Speculations
Chapter 19 Daily Prophet's Speculations
There would be no real conflicts between eleven-year-old classmates. This was a common sense that Moon had long known.
Of course, this is unless someone is deliberately looking for trouble.
Such as Malfoy.
In the past two days, I inevitably ran into Slytherin students in class or at meals. What everyone was most concerned about was Harry and the scar on his head.
Moon also felt that there was no rift between him and Malfoy, but the other party seemed to be paying close attention to him.
"My dad said he took only Muggle coppers."
“And they were all second-hand.”
During breakfast, Malfoy was talking to Goyle and Crabbe about the gossip brought by owl, and they kept pointing in Moon's direction.
"Wow! The Daily Prophet says the guy who changed the rules at Gringotts is probably an accomplice of the Dark wizard who stole!"
At the Gryffindor table, Lee Jordan would explain some major events in the newspaper every day, saying that this would help him improve his commentary skills.
His good friends George and Fred always join in on these events and add some funny actions to the performance.
Their tacitly coordinated play became a funny show that Moon could enjoy for free every breakfast.
"Harry, so you are an accomplice of the thief!" Fred walked over and hugged Harry jokingly.
"I said, it's not me."
"Don't believe it! They always play tricks on me, just like they play tricks on Harry."
Seeing Moon's surprised expression, Ron, who was sitting next to him, shrugged and explained.
But Ron's words didn't have much effect, and Moon's expression was even more wrong.
The first class this morning was Transfiguration. After mastering all the syllables of the spell to transform a matchstick into a needle, Moon completed the magic in one go.
After seeing this, Hermione, who was sitting next to him, stared at the long silver needle, her eyes full of a spirit of not giving up.
By the end of the get out of class, seven or eight students had mastered this magic.
Professor McGonagall deliberately left a fifteen-inch piece of parchment homework after class, saying that it would help to master the basic Transfiguration as quickly as possible.
This was also the first time Moon heard of an assignment measured in length.
After class, Professor McGonagall called Moon to her office. Along the way, his classmates all looked helpless, but Hermione was the only one who seemed a little envious.
As soon as he entered the office, Moon saw the newspaper on the desk. It was the one Lee Jordan mentioned during breakfast.
"Mr. Scarlett, I imagine you've heard the recent rumors about Gringotts Wizarding Bank."
Seeing Moon's eyes, Mag asked directly without any reservation.
"Yeah, Stealer and Game Changer, just heard that this morning."
Moon answered very cautiously. He knew that the latter mentioned in the newspaper was most likely him, but he had no idea that Gringotts would change the rules for exchanging gold Galleons because of this little thing.
"Professor, but I don't know the thieving dark wizard at all."
As Moon spoke, he also muttered to himself, "The goblins in Gringotts are so stingy."
Moon quickly explained to McGonagall that he didn't want the school to punish him for this.
"Of course, when I saw the reporter's byline on this report, I knew every word in it was unreliable."
After hearing what Professor McGonagall said, Moon glanced at the end of the report.
Rita Skeeter
That's the reporter's name.
"Don't worry, Mr. Scarlett. This report, which deviates from the facts, will not affect your admission to Hogwarts. I called you here just to ask if you are willing to accept an exclusive interview with the Daily Prophet."
"Exclusive interview? With this Rita Skeeter?" Moon was a little surprised. He never thought that he would be targeted by reporters because of such a trivial matter.
"Yes, Rita Skeeter wrote a letter to Dumbledore saying she wanted to do a series of reports on the Gringotts incident."
"Can I refuse, Professor?"
Hearing Moon's statement, Mag's serious expression disappeared and then he smiled.
"Of course, Dumbledore didn't actually recommend that she come to school, but he still insisted that I ask your opinion first."
Moon didn't know what the mysterious Headmaster Dumbledore was thinking, but he really disliked this reporter who relied entirely on speculation.
In fact, apart from this point, the most important thing is that Moon believes that the interview is likely to disturb his studies.
Looking at Harry after he became famous, Moon could guess what kind of treatment he would receive after being interviewed.
In his opinion, it would be better if nothing changed now, so that he could study magic in peace.
"Okay, Mr. Scarlett, I'll reply to the newspaper, but you should also be aware that since Rita Skeeter can find you, other people will also notice you."
"Don't worry, Professor. None of this will stop me from learning magic."
Hearing Moon's childish statement, Mag smiled rarely.
"Of course I believe it, by the way." Professor McGonagall said and looked at Moon curiously.
"Pomona told me that you were going to the Forbidden Forest to collect magical saplings that could be used to make wands. Is that true?"
"Yes, Professor."
Moon confessed to McGonagall his desire to study magical plants and repeatedly promised that he would never go deep into the Forbidden Forest.
"Well, I'll write to Hagrid. Without his help, you'll probably get lost in the Forbidden Forest."
After getting Professor McGonagall's consent, Moon left the office happily.
Now the first difficulty in making the magic wand has been solved. As long as he can identify which plants have magical properties, he can find the same plants when he returns to Xilin.
There was a spell class in the afternoon. Moon, who had mastered the syllables of the illumination spell, also successfully cast the spell in one go.
Moreover, the duration of his wand glowing was already catching up with Hermione's, which made Hermione, who was sitting at the same table, feel a sense of urgency.
After coming out of the library in the evening, Hermione took two quick steps to catch up with Moon's pace.
"Why do you focus so much on wandmaking? You won't be using this knowledge in class or on exams."
Just now in the library, Moon and Hermione finished the homework left by Professor McGonagall, and then started reading the books they borrowed.
However, Moon was still reading "Wand Making and Maintenance", and his attitude was very serious.
Hermione didn't think Moon did this to establish a better connection with his wand, because Moon's performance in Transfiguration and Charms classes during the day didn't seem like someone who couldn't control his wand.
For the first time, Moon felt that he shouldn't get too close to smart people.
Hermione's insight was too sharp, which made it difficult for him to hide himself since he already had a secret.
"Of course, I just like this aspect of magic."
Moon gave a reason that was most unlikely to be refuted.
"But it takes years for the plants needed to make wands to grow. It's very likely that you'll leave Hogwarts before the tree is fully grown."
Moon had actually thought of Hermione's question, but since Professor Sprout believed that this was the most intuitive way to discover magical plants, it would definitely not take Moon too long.
Especially since Professor Sprout also promised a mysterious reward.
This further fueled Moon's confidence in wanting to grow a magical plant himself.
