Chapter 22 The Magical Bowtruckle

Hagrid's cabin is located right on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

From a distance the wooden house looked small, but when you got closer you could see that the wooden door alone was as tall as four or five Moons.

Many of the wood used to build the house are very old, and many of them have small white mushrooms growing on them.

Moon didn't mind this because he also had a house like this at York Farm.

When Moon walked into the cabin, the first thing he saw was the big black dog behind Hagrid, with the iron chain around its neck firmly held in Hagrid's hand.

Hagrid explained with a wry smile, he was afraid that Fang's fierce appearance would scare others.

"This is dried Flobberworm. Your little one will love it."

Sure enough, when Hagrid took out the dried insects, Bengbeng, who had been sitting on Moon's shoulder, jumped up immediately.

"Eat slowly, child, there's still plenty."

Moon was very surprised by Hagrid's intimate behavior. He never thought that such a strong man could be so friendly to small animals.

"Okay, Moon, you're here because of what Professor McGonagall mentioned."

Hagrid fed Bong-Bong while looking at Moon.

"Yes, I want to find some saplings on the edge of the Forbidden Forest that can be used to make wands."

Moon said as he took out Professor Sprout's certificate.

Hagrid took it and looked at it for a long time, muttering the contents of the certificate intermittently. This scene reminded Moon of the time when he saw his Hogwarts acceptance letter. [Could it be that Hagrid couldn't read either?]

Moon shook his head to dispel this ridiculous thought.

"Well, kid, I don't know what you're looking for these magical saplings for, but you've come at the perfect time."

Hagrid said as he led Moon outside the house. He took out a shovel and a basket from a room where miscellaneous items were stored.

"These are tools for students in detention. You can take them and head north. A Bowtruckle just happened to arrive there a few days ago. I'm sure you'll find something useful."

Hagrid handed Moon the shovel and basket, then pulled a glass jar from his pocket. "This is a slug, a Bowtruckle's favorite snack."

Moon didn't expect Hagrid to be so well prepared, which saved him a lot of effort.

From the books borrowed from the library, Moon knew that wherever a Bowtruckle appeared, it usually meant that there were magical trees there that could be used to make wands.

Moon took the tools and was about to say thank you when Hagrid suddenly slapped his forehead.

Hagrid said this and went back into the house. A moment later he came out with a long cylindrical object.

"This is a communication firework. If there's an emergency, just pull the rope toward the sky, and Yaya and I will rush over."

"Thank you, Hagrid. You're so well prepared. Can I leave the bungee with you?"

Moon looked back at Benben who was still chewing the dried Flobberworm, then left the cabin with peace of mind.

A messy path had been trampled out at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, and Moon walked north along Hagrid's huge footprints.

This direction is just opposite Hogwarts Castle. After turning a corner, you can only see the green jungle and the grass behind you.

There are many kinds of trees in the Forbidden Forest. Even though Moon has read a lot of books about wands, he still doesn't recognize some of them.

The environment of the path is very quiet, probably because it is on the edge of the forbidden forest, so there are no large animals. At most, you can see some hares and birds.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, a hissing sound suddenly came from the woods ahead. Moon knew that it was the sound of a bowtruckle.

Following the sound, I saw three Bowtruckles clinging to different branches in a messy woodland.

"No wonder Hagrid said it was a Bowtruckle."

Moon slowly approached and found that the Bowtruckles were two large and one small, and the smaller one was obviously still a child.

The Bowtruckles were not too dangerous, but when they saw Moon coming, they still made a series of intimidating noises.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you."

As Moon spoke, he took out a turtle from the glass jar and placed it next to the mouth of the largest tree-guarding ox closest to him.

Moon knew that the other party agreed that he could cut a piece of wood, but he did not do it.

In Moon's eyes, the willow tree guarded by the Bowtruckle was no different from the ordinary willow tree next to it. Even if he cut it down and took it back, he would not know how to tell the difference.

"I want a thin branch of it so I can plant it back home. Can you help me find the one that will grow into the one you just protected?"

Bowtruckle had probably never seen anyone like Moon before.

Don't look for finished products, but instead look for twigs.

Moon said as he took out another turtle.
