Two Worlds: I studied abroad at Hogwarts

Chapter 23: Timber Collection Success

Chapter 23: Timber Collection Success
After eating the earthworm, the Bowtruckle fiddled with its long tentacles and prepared to start working.

Looking at the other party's actions, Moon suddenly felt that the little animal seemed to understand what he said.

"Can I really communicate with magical creatures?"

Remembering that Ron had said two days ago that it was very likely that he could understand the language of magical creatures, Moon couldn't help but become suspicious.

"Isn't Ron really right?"

Moon shook his head and put this ridiculous idea behind him. He had seen too few magical animals, so it was too early to draw conclusions.

While Moon was thinking, the Bowtruckle had slowly climbed onto a thin branch.

This was the thinnest of the three branches. Although Moon didn't know why the Bowtruckle chose it, he didn't doubt it. After getting the other party's consent, he directly cut off the branch with the knife in his hand.

Following the same method, Moon collected a total of three suitable branches and saplings.

Besides the first willow, all that remained were a grapevine and a holly sapling.

Putting the sapling into the basket and covering it with wet linen, Moon quickly returned along the same route.

Now is the time when these young branches are most fragile, and he must plant them as soon as possible.

When they were halfway there, a huge black shadow suddenly flashed across the sky above the Forbidden Forest.

Moon had never seen such a big black bat.

He subconsciously wanted to take out the fireworks given by Hagrid, but the black shadow quickly disappeared into the depths of the Forbidden Forest.

"No wonder Dumbledore didn't allow people to come to the Forbidden Forest. A bat that big should be able to suck a person dry."

Knowing that some bats are blood-sucking, Moon did not let go of the fireworks until the bats disappeared for a while, then he ran wildly on the path.

When they returned to Hagrid's hut, they could hear the sound of Bouncing's joy, along with the voices of Harry and Ron.

"Oh, welcome back Moon, how was the picking?"

Seeing Moon's figure at the door, Hagrid stood up from the big chair and walked out.

"It went very smoothly. I picked three."

Hearing Moon's voice, Bengbeng ran out quickly and jumped on him.

Harry and Ron also came over curiously. They had heard from Hagrid that Moon had collected magical saplings that could grow into wands.

"Is this it? There's nothing special about it!" Ron looked closely at the sapling in the basket and asked curiously.

"Of course you can't tell now."

Hagrid took the basket and walked out. "To be exact, if you don't plant it yourself, you may never discover its magical properties in your lifetime."

Moon agreed with what Hagrid said and followed Hagrid's pace to walk out.

In the vegetable garden behind the cottage, Hagrid had prepared several transparent bottles and a pile of wet mud, which just met the needs of the sapling's growth.

"Okay, let's leave it like this for now. As long as you go back tomorrow and transplant them into pots, they should be able to survive."

Hagrid washed his hands in the wooden barrel beside him and looked at his masterpiece with satisfaction.

All three saplings have been transplanted into the bottles, and now they can bask in the sun freely.

"Thank you very much, Hagrid," Moon said sincerely.

"Oh, it's okay. Professor McGonagall told me to do this."

Hagrid said this and held Moon, Harry and Ron in his huge hand and walked towards the cabin.

"It's rare for my place to be so busy. How about some afternoon tea?"

Hagrid made his afternoon tea himself, a rock cake bigger than Moon's head, a big cup of hot red tea, and some wild fruits picked from the Forbidden Forest.

This rough way of eating made Moon feel like he was back in Xilin.

Hagrid was very enthusiastic, which made it impossible for the young wizards to refuse. After tasting a bite of rock cake, Moon felt that the name was definitely right. It was too hard.

Fortunately, Moon has a way to deal with tough ingredients.

He first squeezed a few wild fruits into the black tea, then tore the rock cake into small pieces and put them into the tea. After the rock cake had fully absorbed the water, he took a spoon and started eating.

After soaking, the rock cake becomes soft and you can even taste the unique grain aroma inside.

After adding wild fruits to the tea, the bitter taste was diluted and a light fruity aroma appeared.

"Wow, I never thought rock cakes could be eaten this way. How about adding some other ingredients?"

Seeing that Hagrid also liked this Xilin specialty food very much, Moon suggested that he could add some chopped dried fruits like hazelnuts, which would make it more fragrant.

"Little Moon, hiccup~, does this bubble rock pancake have a name?"

After Hagrid finished eating five rock cakes, he burped comfortably.

"Probably not yet."

This way of eating was the food Moon ate when he was working on the farm, and it should not have appeared in this world yet.

"I think something this delicious shouldn't be without a name. How about we give it a name?"

Harry and Ron agreed very much. They also felt that the rock cake tasted better after being soaked.

Moon had never thought about developing in the food industry of this world, so the final name changed from "Moon Bubble Pancake" to "Hagrid Shortbread".

While everyone was chatting, Bengbeng had already become friends with Yaya.

Moon was talking to Hagrid about the big black bat they encountered on the way back, but Harry pulled out a small piece of paper from the table.

This is a clipping from the Daily Prophet, and it's about the Gringotts theft.

"Hagrid, we were there the day Gringotts was robbed. Maybe we even saw that man."

Moon noticed that Hagrid's eyes were a little evasive, and he stammered that he definitely didn't.

Although he didn't know why Hagrid concealed this issue, it just happened to be in line with Moon's thoughts, so he cooperated with Hagrid and changed the topic elsewhere.

Harry really had a spirit that refused to give up. He took the small piece of paper in his hand and read it carefully again.

When the sun set, the three of them said goodbye to Hagrid.

Moon picked up the sleeping Bong from Fang's head, and Harry and Ron helped him carry the saplings.

After entering the school gate, Moon separated from the two. He now had to go to Professor Sprout to borrow a few flower pots, otherwise the saplings might not survive the night.

"Three saplings! They're actually different species. Very good! I think as long as they can hold on for seven days, they'll definitely survive."

After Professor Sprout finished the inspection, he readily let Moon move the three flower pots away and promised to give him a mysterious reward after the saplings survived.

Moon didn't know what the mysterious reward was, but he knew very well that it was not easy to get.

From previous experience at York Farm, Moon knew the willow would be the best of the three saplings to survive.

As long as it is propagated through cuttings in spring and autumn, it will survive the cold winter. It has very strong adaptability.

Holly trees are planted as saplings, so they need to be watered frequently, but water cannot accumulate.

Finally, there are grape vines. They also need to be propagated by cuttings, but they need to be watered frequently without allowing water to rot the roots. They also have requirements for the soil.

Moon moved the three saplings to the windowsill of his dormitory and he would take care of them wholeheartedly for the next week.

Bengbeng was also very interested in these saplings and kept circling around the flower pots.

After putting all the flower pots away, Seamus and Neville, who was wrapped in bandages, came back from outside. They excitedly discussed the flying lessons they would have next week.

Thanks to the little wizard Elmotis for the reward
