Chapter 70 My badge didn't vibrate, which means there's no sorceress nearby
Lynn subconsciously grasped the silver sword on his back.

But there was nothing in sight except the falling dust.

This strong vibration came and went quickly.

After a while, the vibration stopped.

Lynn quickly opened the door of the villa and looked outside.

Everything is calm outside, the years are peaceful, and nothing happens.

It seems that the shock just now was only limited to the villa.

It does not affect the outside.

No wonder the neighbors didn’t notice anything unusual.

"The whole house was shaking, but no evil spirits appeared and my badge didn't react."

"Well, first of all, we can rule out the possibility that it was the little earth spirit who did it."

Small earth spirits are remnants brought about by the intersection of the celestial spheres.

They behave and look like human children, and like children, they enjoy playing pranks.

Sometimes, when a house in the city is haunted, it may not be a ghost, but a small earth spirit that is the culprit.

But the little earth spirit can only make a little noise to scare people, but it is impossible for the little earth spirit alone to make the whole house shake like this.

As for what it is.

Lynn would have to continue investigating to find out.

The house didn't look like it had been abandoned for a long time. The previous owner even left a lot of things in the house and left without having time to clean up.

Lin En drew out the silver sword, started from the first floor, slowly searched upwards to the third floor, and then returned from the third floor to the first floor.

He searched very carefully, not even leaving out any corners.

And throughout his search, the house continued to shake occasionally.

But the badge never responded, and no evil spirit appeared to attack him.

When Lin En returned to the first floor again, he felt very strange.

Because he didn't find anything unusual.

When Lin En first entered the house, he discovered that the house actually had a basement.

Since the problem is not from upstairs, there is only one problem, which comes from downstairs.

Lynn noticed that there was a layer of salt in front of the stairs leading to the basement.

It looked like the previous owner was trying to ward off evil spirits with salt.

There are times when salt does come in handy.

But it's clearly not ghosts that are unsettling the house.

Therefore, the salt is just wasted.

However, these salts also acted as signposts, pointing the way for Lin En:
The culprit came from the basement.

Lynn slowly walked down the stairs into the basement.

The basement is not big and is filled with a lot of miscellaneous items.

Lynn checked it again but still found no problem.

But he noticed that there were several cracks on one of the walls in the basement.

Air actually leaked out from the crack.

In other words, there was nothing behind the basement wall.

"Alder."

An invisible air wave knocked the wall apart.

Bricks and stones flew out, revealing the space behind. Lin En followed the gap opened by the Alder Seal and stepped into it.

Then he discovered that there was a man-made space underneath.

He continued to explore deeper along the corridor.

It didn't take long before we arrived at a cave.

When Lynn took in the situation in the cave, he finally understood what was going on in this haunted house.

A tall humanoid construct of stone and wood, trapped within a blue, magically woven cage.

When it saw Lin, it let out an angry roar, raised its fist, which was as thick as a normal person's waist, and smashed it hard on the magic shield.

The entire cave was shaken by it, and the magic shield seemed to be running out of energy, and the light flickered rapidly several times.

Fortunately, I managed to hold on in the end.

But anyone with a discerning eye could see that this magic shield wouldn't last long.

It will be broken sooner or later, either today or tomorrow.

"Damn it, isn't this a golem?"

The golem is not a monster brought about by the intersection of the celestial spheres.

But it is a created thing.

Despite what you may have heard, the first golem was not created by a powerful sorcerer or elven sage, but by a simple dwarf from the city of Maribor, a brickmaker named Bonaventura Sesto.

This story takes place many years ago, when the persecution of non-human races in Maribor was at its peak.

Elves and dwarves were accused of bringing the plague into the city—though the culprit was later revealed to be a man named Madio, who worked as a busboy at the Golden Goose Inn.

It is said that Matteo is responsible for serving meals and cleaning toilets, but he only washes his hands once a month, and not thoroughly.

But before the truth was discovered, the persecution of non-human races, which started with the looting of shops, arson and occasional beatings, escalated into increasingly violent activities and gradually turned into a brutal massacre.

But the city guards paid no attention, and the mob murdered more than three hundred dwarves and elves in three days and three nights, including Bonaventura Sesto's entire family.

Bonaventura was so angry and full of revenge that he made a three-meter-tall human statue out of clay.

The names of the non-human races that were killed were engraved on it, and some dwarven curses were added.

When he was done, he slit his own throat, and his blood spurted onto the giant statue, which came to life and began to walk around the city.

Bonaventura finally exacted revenge on his persecutors by creating a statue that killed nearly five hundred people, including the mayor and the entire city council, before the city guards destroyed it with a catapult.

Finally, the Senate investigation found that Bonaventura actually possessed hidden magical talents.

Although he had no training, the powerful emotions he felt at the time of his death triggered dormant magical powers within him and created a new spell.

It is this spell that gives life to the golem.

Although Bonaventura died, the spell he used to bring the golem to life piqued the interest of the Warlock Brotherhood.

After paying some price, the Warlock Brotherhood successfully restored the spell.

After several modifications and improvements, it no longer costs one's life to cast this spell.

Since then, golems have gradually become common and popular among the warlock community.

Looking at the golem trapped in the magic barrier, Lynn began to recall the knowledge about golems from the books in Kaer Morhen Castle:
Since it is a construct created by magic, its entire body is made of hard stone and wood and has no soft spots.

Secondly, the golem's fist is as powerful as a battering ram, and it can reduce a plate knight to a pulp with just one blow.

Finally, golems cannot bleed, be poisoned, or even feel pain from fire.

Of course, while the Golem has no conventional weaknesses, it can still be defeated.

For example, the method used by the city guards of Maripo at the time: using catapults or crossbows, they could directly destroy it.

Additionally, since golems are constructs powered by magic and spells, the same retardium bombs that work on warlocks will also work on golems.
