Chapter 213: Still eating, Blake catches you to make you spicy

"I usually just bite the mouse to death and eat it."

The Earl said,
"Instead of whispering in their ears, 'Hey, hey, I'm coming to eat you'..."

"Then you don't understand life at all." Cohen shook his head.

"Don't act like you know more about owls than I do, you little bastard!" the Count said angrily. "Not every bird likes to play with its food!"

"Tsk tsk tsk..."

Cohen shook his head again.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

The Count looked like he wanted to kill Cohen but couldn't, and finally flew out in anger to find snacks.
-
There was no overnight hatred between Cohen and the Earl. No matter how angry the Earl was, he would still come back happily the next day and fly to the Gryffindor dormitory to throw a dead mouse to Cohen.

"You fucking—" Cohen shook the dead rat off the bed sheet onto the floor and glared at the count viciously.

"I left one for you. I specially picked out the fattest one." said the count proudly.

"I was so scared—" Ron, who had just woken up, was startled by the mouse on the floor. "I thought it was Scabbers' body..."

Banban was still staying safely in its cage.

"You're just holding a grudge, aren't you?" Cohen waved his wand and the dead rat disappeared.

"Don't waste it if you don't eat it!" said the count with pretended concern.

After the Earl's disturbance, no one in the dormitory felt like sleeping in anymore.

They don't have classes in the morning today, and the first class is divination in the afternoon.

"Hermione bought Crookshanks a new cage yesterday." Ron checked Scabbers' condition. "Maybe it would be better if I let him out for some fresh air today..."

Scabbers was still trembling after being released from the cage. Cohen finally understood why Peter had been able to stay safely in the Weasley family for twelve years without being discovered - he was simply a natural born rat.

"I still have a lot of snacks left over," Harry said kindly. "You can share some with Scabbers. He looks very weak."

Scabbers was left in the dormitory, and Harry suggested going to Hagrid to check on the animals for the next Care of Magical Creatures course - they had to help Hagrid check to prevent Hagrid from bringing out any dangerous animals.

"I'm not going," said Cohen. "I have a feeling Hagrid will beg me to lend him the Chimera."

"That better not..." Harry said fearfully, "That lion-head looks like he wants to pounce on everyone. Hagrid will be reported to the police."

Harry and Ron went downstairs together. Seamus also planned to have breakfast early and then go play with Dean and the others.

Cohen pretended to go out, but returned a few minutes later.

"Squeak..."

Scabbers dug around in Harry's snack pile looking for food, especially after the little wizards in the dormitory had left - it had completely lost its trembling look of fear.

But its movements froze when a relatively huge black shadow appeared behind it.

Cohen flicked the mouse's head with his finger.

"Still eating?"

Cohen said kindly,

"Blake is here to catch you..."

Peter turned his head stiffly. Although he knew Cohen was his master's partner, the sense of danger of being caught still made him subconsciously want to escape. And Cohen said, "Blake is here to catch you." Could it be...

Cohen is actually on Black's side?!
Peter decisively decided to run away - the good news was that Cohen didn't catch him at the first time, which meant that as long as he escaped from the castle, the boy would never find him - no one could find a mouse in the grass and forest outside.

Cohen playfully let Peter escape from the dormitory.

The naive little Peter still thought he could get away safely. Haha, how could a prey that Cohen had set his eyes on escape?
The tracking potion that he fed Peter last time allowed Cohen to find his location at any time. Cohen just waited for Peter to leave Gryffindor Tower and escape from the castle, and he followed slowly behind.

"It's about time..."

As Cohen finally approached a bush, he said grimly,

"Are you still running?"

"Squeak..."

Peter hid deep in the bushes in fear and was grabbed out by Cohen.

"Try to bite me?" Cohen looked at Peter, who looked like he wanted to bite his hand and then try to escape, and said nonchalantly, "Just a reminder, I don't know how to break the liquid curse."

Although he didn't know what the liquid curse was, considering Cohen's species, Peter suddenly lost the courage to resist. He stayed quietly in Cohen's hands, as if waiting to die, without moving.

"That's much better. I don't have any ill will towards you."

Bringing the mouse to the Room of Requirement, Cohen dropped it on the floor and said, like a good man:
"We are all on the same side, how could I hurt you?"

Peter stood up on his hind legs, with a pleading look in his little eyes.

"Change back to human form. I don't understand rat language." Cohen glanced down at the cowardly rat. "No one will come here."

After Cohen finished speaking, Peter began to spin around, and the mouse's body was constantly expanding, like a fast-forward shot of a tree growing.

First a head, then limbs, and a moment later a small, cowering man appeared where the mouse had been.

"Co-Cohen..." Peter Pettigrew shrank his neck and didn't dare to look directly at Cohen. "You came to me because..."

"I discussed a plan with Voldemort," Coin said, "about abducting Harry Potter and resurrecting him in the Riddle family graveyard."

"That's great..." Peter forced out a flattering expression, "Can I...can I be forgiven by the master..."

"Of course, you're an excellent messenger." Cohen nodded. "Without you, Voldemort wouldn't have found me. I'll give you the Best Mouse Award."

Peter didn't hear the sarcasm in Cohen's words and breathed a sigh of relief.

"The following plans have nothing to do with you. You can continue to be a lazy winner." Cohen said, "But I'm a good person and I can't bear to see my allies in danger..."

"Danger?" Peter asked tremblingly.

"I ran into Sirius," said Coin. "He thought I was Harry's friend, so he told me a lot of things - including that he was going to kill you -"

"No!" Peter shrieked in a shrill, terrified voice. "You can't let him kill me—I'm still useful... I'm still useful to the Dark Lord... I'm still useful to you... I'll do anything..."

Peter knelt on the ground and crawled to the edge of Cohen's robe, trying to hug Cohen and ask Cohen to protect him.

"Don't be so disgusting..." Cohen put some distance between himself and Peter.

"No... please, don't let Blake kill me - he's a lunatic..." Peter said with tears and snot.
