Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!
Chapter 337 Sunshine, Rainbow, and Little White Horse
Chapter 337 Sunshine, Rainbow, and Little White Horse
I can't stand it, I want to pull the little basilisk away and bite Harry Potter hard.
Ron breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that "Cathy" didn't do anything out of line, and looked at Harry with pity. Harry's face was as red as if he had just come out of a sauna, and he was practically steaming.
“Cathy, Ruby, then who is she…”
Ron looked at the red-eyed girl next to Cohen.
“Her name is Sunshine Rainbow Little White Horse,” Cohen said without changing his expression.
“Impossible, no one would have that name,” Ron said, waving his hand as if he thought Cohen was joking.
"That's my name!" the unicorn said angrily, hands on her hips, to Ron. Because of the unicorn's unique way of communicating, Ron could only see an angry girl and couldn't hear her complaints. "This one is clearly cuter!"
“Sunshine, that’s normal now, right?” Cohen said. “Today, you’re in charge of taking them around Hogwarts.”
“Are you from Beauxbatons?” Ron asked Sissoko.
But Sissoko was still watching Harry.
Harry is currently in a dilemma: he wants to push the girl off him, but he's also afraid that pushing her would be impolite and cause him to lose his dance partner tonight.
In Sissoko's eyes, Harry was like a little pervert who wanted to touch his daughter but didn't dare to because of his intense gaze.
“Yes… I guess so…” Cohen said, pursing his lips. “Alright, I’m going out to show off my beautiful dance partner now. Good luck to you guys.”
Meanwhile, Hermione emerged from the girls' dormitory. Although she hadn't started dressing up yet, it was already noticeable that her front teeth seemed to have been shortened by magic.
"What are you doing..." Hermione's face showed a strange expression, because she immediately noticed the brown-haired girl's bizarre posture sitting on Harry—when did Harry become so...open?
“She herself—” Harry tried to explain, but quickly whispered to her as the little basilisk turned around, “Get up…get up…”
"Oh..." The little snake monster rolled over.
"..." Hermione's expression became even more distraught.
When she looked at Ron, Sissoko quickly pulled Ron up and used his elbow to hold Ron's neck next to him.
When Cohen first took them out, he specifically told them to keep a close eye on Harry and Ron, not to arouse any suspicion, and not to let the two of them flirt with other girls—lest they be left all alone on the dance floor and noticed by people who shouldn't notice them.
"Is this your dance partner?" Hermione asked Ron, her voice unusually calm. "Just found him?"
“Then I need to find a dance partner, right?” Ron said, his eyes darting around. “I’ve actually known her for quite a while…”
“Okay,” Hermione said. “Merry Christmas.”
After saying that, Hermione left—and took Cohen and his dance partner with her.
“That’s ridiculous,” Ron said, rubbing his throat. Sissoko released him after Hermione left. “Does that mean I have to spend Christmas alone just because she’s not coming to the ball with me?”
“Um… could you get up for a moment, Cathy?” Harry asked the little basilisk politely. “My leg is numb…”
"Oh... alright..." the little basilisk said softly, slowly getting up. Harry's legs were digging into her, making her feel a little uncomfortable, not as good as... her mother.
“Why aren’t you guys talking much?” Ron looked at Sissoko, then at the basilisk. “Don’t you speak English?” “Maybe we’re not that familiar with each other yet…” Harry had just heard the girl in his body speak and thought it probably wasn’t that she “didn’t speak English.”
"So what do we do next?" Ron asked, somewhat at a loss. "The dance isn't until tonight..."
"Go... um... as Cohen said, wander around?" Harry said somewhat awkwardly.
With two people in the room who can't speak human language, and two others whose IQ drops to negative numbers when dating girls, it's hard for the atmosphere not to change to this point.
However, the situation is different outside the Gryffindor common room.
"Hello." Hermione's stiff expression finally relaxed after leaving the dressing room. She greeted Cohen's dance partner, "May I say a few words to Cohen? About our two friends..."
The little unicorn nodded—Cohen had taught her to nod whenever someone spoke to her, a method that worked in 99% of situations.
The remaining 1% is that the other party will feel they haven't explained things clearly and will mechanically repeat themselves.
So all she had to do was keep nodding, and the humans would get bored and walk away.
Then, Hermione pulled Cohen aside and took a few deep breaths.
"Ron and Harry's two dance partners..."
"You only want to ask Ron, right?" Cohen asked, tilting his head.
“How could this be—” Hermione said urgently, but her face was already turning red.
Cohen didn't quite understand why Hermione chose Ron over Harry. Maybe it was Ron's comedic talent? Or maybe they developed feelings for each other after arguing for so long?
It makes perfect sense for humans to become food for Dementors—a race that gets more excited the more it is tortured is a perfect target for creatures that "feed on pleasure".
“I mean… have they really known those two girls for a long time?” Hermione said.
“Ron doesn’t know her, at least not until this morning, because I only brought them here this morning,” Cohen said bluntly. “Without a dance partner, they’ll be the only two conspicuous figures in Gryffindor, and you can’t expect Ron to do nothing until the very end—”
“I just…I didn’t—” Hermione didn’t know how to explain. “It’s okay, I’m leaving now—Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas.” Cohen raised his eyebrows.
[Is she unhappy?] The unicorn keenly sensed Hermione's feelings—unicorns are very good at probing a person's mind, thus keeping away from wicked people with impure hearts.
"Love..." Cohen shook his head, "I don't understand it, but I respect it."
"Is love like mating between parents?" the unicorn asked.
“Well, there’s no need to say it so bluntly at school…” Cohen said stiffly. “Would you like to wander around before the ball tonight? Like different parts of the castle—or Hogsmeade Village, where a secret passage leads directly to a candy shop.”
"I want to see that big guy!" The unicorn pointed out the window to Hagrid's little house. "He gave me good food, but we moved away, so I didn't give him any flowers..."
"Hagrid really is an animal succubus..."
Cohen clicked his tongue.
"Let's go then. I also want to ask him how things are going with Maxim."
Looking at the footprints outside Hagrid's hut, it seemed like Ms. Maxim often went there.
