Chapter 378 Newt at a Glance

Newt at first glance.

Is someone so old traveling to the Aegean Sea just to meet the hybrid offspring of the Nightmare Serpent, the Myra Beast, and the Dementor...?

“He’s so old, why would you make him go fight with me?” Cohen said.

"And what about me?" Dumbledore asked with interest.

“You’re different. You look even more energetic than Edward.” Cohen shook his head. “I’ll keep an eye on him, otherwise I might really have to have a Pokémon battle with Rolf—so what are you planning to do about Voldemort?”

“You always make me forget that you’re just a child, Cohen.” Dumbledore looked at Cohen with a complicated expression. “I often wonder if it was a mistake to bring you into this mess.”

“Even if you hadn’t dragged me in, I couldn’t have avoided Voldemort,” Cohen said. “He’s been calling me Cohen all the time, and I almost thought I was going to become his dream girl…”

"The key is these two years before Harry comes of age," Dumbledore said. "Voldemort might choose to lie low for a while, gathering his henchmen again... just like he has done before. But ultimately, we will have to face him—Cohen, are you sure you can't hurt him?"

“With Harry’s Horcrux, I can’t devour his soul,” Cohen said. “But it should be possible once Harry comes of age. First, we’ll find the rest of Voldemort’s Horcruxes, then deal with the piece of Voldemort on Harry, and finally we can defeat Voldemort.”

“Perhaps I know of some places where Horcruxes might be kept…” Dumbledore said thoughtfully.

“There are four Horcruxes that we know of that have been destroyed so far. One of them is Voldemort’s own diary, the one I tricked from Lucius Malfoy. I mentioned it to you in my letter when the locket was destroyed last time,” Cohen said.

Dumbledore nodded, indicating that he remembered.

"The Hufflepuff cup, which was in the Lestrange vault, I also tricked out of the Malfoys—it seems a bit unethical..." Cohen recalled.

“Some things are more about the result than the process,” Dumbledore said with a sly look in his eyes.

Cohen now feels that Dumbledore isn't very ethical after all...

"Then there was the Ravenclaw tiara. Voldemort wanted me to find it for him; it was in the Room of Requirement—but I had already found it when I went to the Room of Requirement before..." Cohen continued, recalling, "When he discovered the tiara was missing, he asked me if I knew who had taken it..."

"What did you say?" Dumbledore asked kindly.

“I said you did it,” Cohen said.

Dumbledore was no longer so amiable.

"..."

After a moment of silence, Dumbledore sighed.

It has no impact, it has no impact...

“Then there was that Slytherin locket that Regulus brought out of one of Voldemort’s caves,” Cohen said. “The thought that I ate them all gives me the feeling that I did a lot of things…”

“Four…” Dumbledore murmured, “How many more will there be?”

“He was a student at Hogwarts, wasn’t he?” Cohen said. “Didn’t you say you remembered every student? Find places and objects related to him or something…” “I will look for it. There are many places to start…” Dumbledore pondered. “What negative consequences will you face after you ‘eat’ the soul on the Horcrux?”

"It's like eating a cake that's been sitting out for a while," Cohen said. "Not tasty, but filling. So if you find it, you can give me a bite first."

“Of course,” Dumbledore said, clapping his hands. “Alright, Cohen, thank you for keeping this old man company for so long. It’s getting late, time to go to bed.”

After Cohen left the office, he ran into Edward and his men who were waiting outside the door.

However, it seems that Edward and the others did not hear Cohen and Dumbledore's conversation inside the house. They just wanted to wait for Cohen to come out, take him to the dormitory, and then go back to the tent outside.

As soon as Cohen entered the lounge, he was surrounded by Hermione and Ron.

“Cohen!” Hermione grabbed Cohen anxiously and asked, “What happened between you and Harry? Professor McGonagall won’t let us come looking for you—”

“Harry’s situation was more serious; he had a cut on his arm…” Cohen said, “The trophy was switched with a portal key to another location…”

Cohen explained the situation on Harry's end to the two of them.

When it was mentioned that Voldemort had been resurrected, Hermione and Ron's faces were filled with horror.

"The mysterious man is alive?!" Ron's eyes widened. "Isn't that..."

Ron shuddered, seemingly contemplating a future scenario.

“Dumbledore will take care of it; what’s meant to happen will happen,” Cohen said. “Harry should be sleeping in the hospital by now. Professor McGonagall didn’t want you to go because she didn’t want to disturb his rest, after all, Harry just escaped from Voldemort…”

"Have you encountered any danger?" Hermione asked Cohen with equal concern.

"No danger at all. A few people tried to kidnap me, but I took care of them," Cohen said with a yawn. "Never mind Voldemort, let's get some sleep. Dumbledore will explain everything tomorrow..."

Cohen and Ron returned to the boys' dormitory together. Ron seemed terrified by the news of Voldemort's resurrection—the name Voldemort was indeed too frightening for the children of these wizarding families. Parents often scared their children with things like, "If you don't behave, Voldemort will come to your house and kill your whole family."

I slept soundly through the night, and when I woke up the next day, the sky outside the tower window was so bright it seemed unreal.

The sun was shining brightly, the sky was cloudless, and even the students at Hogwarts, who were unaware of what had happened, were still enthusiastically discussing the Triwizard Tournament—because they had been asked by Dumbledore to return to the castle after Cohen and Harry left the maze, and knew nothing about it.

At breakfast, Dumbledore didn't directly state that Voldemort had returned. Instead, he told everyone to let Harry rest and not to bother him with any questions.

He announced that Cohen and Harry were tied for the Triwizard Tournament title because they won the trophy together.

“Karkaroff is gone.” Ron pointed to the seats of the other school headmasters next to Dumbledore. “Where did he go?”

“He ran away,” Cohen said. “Didn’t we hear before that he chose to trust Silver Key, believing that Silver Key could give him the ability to protect himself from the other Death Eaters? But Silver Key’s plan to deal with me failed, so he’s actually in a bad situation now.”
