A few seconds later, Ron made a decision and hurriedly chased after Hermione in the direction she had left.
Ha looked at Cohen with a very inquisitive gaze.
"No, why are you all so wooden..." Cohen sighed, "Wasn't it obvious from last year's Christmas ball? Otherwise, why do you think Hermione was angry after Ron didn't invite her? And why was Ron so unhappy when he saw Hermione and Krum together..."
“You mean, Ron actually likes Hermione too…” Harry understood.
“I need to find a chance to persuade the Dementors to stop sucking the happiness of unintelligent people, or they’ll turn into idiots…” Cohen sighed.
Ron's attempt to appease him did not go smoothly. When Cohen and Harry arrived at the Great Hall, they only found a dejected Ron.
“Heartless, cold-blooded, unreasonable…” Ron said, “Nonsense…”
"Where was the heartlessness, the indifference, the incomprehension, the absurdity?" Cohen asked, sitting down next to Ron with amusement.
“She wouldn’t listen to my apology at all,” Ron said angrily. “She said she wouldn’t like me even if every man in the world died.”
"That sounds familiar," Cohen raised his eyebrows.
“Cohen, you must be mistaken. She has no intention of dating me at all…” Ron said.
“If all else fails, I’ll find you a Dementor as your wife. She’ll be obedient, won’t argue with you, and will be easy to take care of, so you won’t have to spend any money,” Cohen said. “You know, Dementors aren’t actually that scary; they keep their distance from people.”
“I don’t believe you,” Harry shook his head. “Where is the sense of distance? Sirius said he often sees Dementors forcibly kissing people, and it’s terrifying.”
“They only have mouths and hands on their bodies, isn’t that even better?” Cohen raised an eyebrow.

In early October, just as the temperature in the Scottish Highlands was beginning to drop, Carlton Gray's reply arrived.
On Saturday afternoon, Cohen was opening letters by the fireplace in the lounge, while the Earl and his wife warmed themselves nearby.
The contents of the letter were different from what Cohen had expected.
The woman exposed the "Butter Unicorn's" male identity because "girls wouldn't write to a man whose identity is unknown."
This is especially suspicious for students attending Hogwarts.
However, she still preferred to correspond with Butter Unicorn because she had difficulty walking and couldn't go out, so she could only find pen pals to chat with to relieve her boredom.
"So did your wife discover that she was disabled?" Cohen asked the Earl.
"Does that woman named Carlton Gray have a physical defect?" the Earl asked his wife.
“Coo coo coo—” said the count’s wife.
“She said the woman was sitting in a chair and opened the window with her wand,” the Count said.
"How did you figure out such a long string of words from just three 'gu' sounds?" Cohen asked, frowning.
"How did you and those snakes manage to glean such a long string of questions from just a few hissing sounds?" the count countered.
“It’s probably magic…” Cohen shook his head. Cohen wrote another letter, starting to try and extract information from the woman, such as her attitude towards dark magic—Cohen’s reason was that he had learned some “evil” spells at school and was afraid that he was wrong, wondering if he had already become a dark wizard…
It was another letter from the count's wife, and the count felt a pang of sympathy for her in the cold weather.
“Feeling sorry for them won’t help. People have to work, and birds have to work too,” Cohen said. “Don’t you go out hunting in the winter?”
“But she’s still a pampered little owl—” the count retorted, “I can dye her feathers—and then I can take her place…”
"Tsk tsk tsk, you're already willing to take responsibility for this mother owl after only a few months. We've known each other for so long and I've never seen you do my homework for me," Cohen said regretfully.
"So, I'm just asking if you actually wrote it in the end," the count said dryly.
“It feels different when someone helps me write something voluntarily than when I force them to do it,” Cohen said aptly. “The latter makes me feel guilty.”
"You? Feel guilty?" The count tilted his head and said, "You think I'm easy to fool? You always seem to enjoy it."
"It wasn't particularly enjoyable, unless you finish drawing the herb-gathering flowchart for me today—I didn't pay much attention in class, I was too busy playing with the man-eating bushes."
It's no wonder Cohen wasn't paying attention in class; that man-eating shrub was just too interesting.
It noticed that when Cohen reached out to it, it would proactively extend a branch to entwine around Cohen's fingers, and then shrink back in fear because of the dangerous liquid curse beneath its skin.
But trees have short memories; two seconds later, it will extend a branch toward Cohen again and then retract it.
Stretch again, retract again, stretch again, retract again...
This kind of entertainment is too boring for first and second graders, but it's just right for fifth graders.
So much so that when Professor Sprout discovered that Cohen was handling the man-eating bush without gloves, he flew into a rage and gave Cohen extra homework, making him draw a standard flowchart of handling the man-eating bush and picking its fruit.
The assignment was successfully delivered to the Earl again, and Cohen planned to go to Edward's office to oversee Edward's club preparations for tonight.
However, when he arrived at Edward's office door, he heard a familiar voice from inside.
“Congratulations,” Edward said. “When are you planning to take office? Everyone definitely needs someone to keep things in order right now…”
“I’m handling most of the affairs now; nominally, we’ll have to wait until the election after Christmas,” Mr. Crouch said. “I’m not here for that…”
"What is it?" Edward asked.
“I want Cohen to come to the Ministry of Magic after I take office, publicly reveal his identity, and stabilize those unruly Dementors,” Crouch said. “His relationship with the Dementors is unusual, isn’t it?”
"Hmm." Edward's voice turned somewhat indifferent.
“I’m not saying Cohen is involved in the Dementors’ escape. I’m saying Cohen should go and win back the Dementors, and give the wizarding world an explanation.”
“I know what you mean. He’s still in school. How are you going to make him live his life at school after this news is announced?” Edward said. “If it’s just about helping with negotiations, I can allow you to ask Cohen.”
"Believe me, the Ministry of Magic has a much heavier burden to bear than your son does."
“I don’t care what the Ministry of Magic has done. Do what you did to Dementors before Cohen was around,” Edward said firmly. “The Ministry of Magic can’t have fallen so low that a child has to give up his life to save it, can it?”
