Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!
Chapter 478 The Dusty Alchemy Classroom
Chapter 478 The Dusty Alchemy Classroom
“Ron—phew—you scared me to death! I rushed over as soon as I got the news that you went to the Ministry of Magic, but Kingsley said you’ve already gone back to school.” Mr. Weasley hugged Ron. “Your mother is about to go crazy, especially after hearing that there was a mysterious person there…”
“It sounds like the end of the world is coming…” Ron shuddered.
“Ah, Minister, you’re here too.” Mr. Weasley only noticed Edward and Sirius after letting go of Ron. “And Sirius.”
“Arthur, we don’t need to be so…formal in private,” Edward said, sounding a little uncomfortable. “Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be in this position for long. Just thinking about all the work I have to do every day gives me the creeps…”
"You promised to be a minister for life!" Cohen said pleadingly. "Can you bear to see me being bullied by other people in power...?"
“When did I ever promise to do this for the rest of my life?” Edward said, grabbing Cohen by the back of the neck. “Are you planning to just lie at home and do nothing like me after you graduate?”
“I can inherit your D&D board and all the expensive pieces,” Cohen said, “and then your ill-gotten gains—if any.”
“If it’s one of my chess pieces, forget about it, unless I’m dead,” Edward said with extreme stinginess.
After confirming that Ron had nothing missing or extra on him except for the saliva of the unknown creature, Mr. Weasley hurried back to report to Mrs. Weasley.
Edward and Sirius also escorted Cohen and Harry to the door of the common room.
However, Cohen didn't go in until everyone had left.
"What's wrong?" Edward asked. "If you can't sleep, I'll go to the school clinic and get you some potions. You guys should have classes tomorrow, right?"
“No,” Cohen said. “Why don’t you go look for the Dementors the day after tomorrow?”
"Why? Are they having their birthdays together the day after tomorrow?" Edward asked, somewhat puzzled.
“Because I have something that I need to finish making,” Cohen said. “You didn’t want me to help you win over the Dementors, right? I’ll have the Earl send it to you tomorrow night after I finish it, so you can talk to the Dementors.”
-
After handing the silver key to Edward, Cohen returned to his dormitory and immediately crawled into bed.
Harry and Ron, however, were still awake, whispering among themselves about what would happen tomorrow amidst Neville's snoring.
Cohen didn't join them because he needed to sleep and would figure out how to make the "Dementor Mind Synchronizer" the next day.
The next morning, the Hogwarts students got up as usual, went to the Great Hall for breakfast noisily, and went to class noisily, but they soon discovered a series of explosive news in the morning newspaper.
The mysterious figure reappears and engages in battle with the new Minister of Magic in the Ministry's hall.
The new minister's statement has caused distress and panic in the wizarding world, following last Wednesday's emphasis that "the persistent rumors of mysterious figures resurfacing among us are pure nonsense."
The new minister delivered an important speech, declaring that the Dementor problem had been resolved and that Azkaban's full regime would be restored in early March.
……
"'The Ministry of Magic is thoroughly investigating and eliminating the Death Eaters. No officers have been injured or killed in the battle, but two Death Eaters have been captured... Cohen, it seems like you're the one who killed those two!" Harry nudged Cohen.
"I don't even have a name?" Cohen's eyes widened. "How did it all become Edward's achievement?"
“It’s to protect you, isn’t it?” Hermione said. “There’s no mention of your father-son relationship here, so no one will keep asking you about your dad.” “I actually quite like that feeling,” Cohen sipped his pumpkin juice. “That way I can catch someone and put them in solitary confinement again…”
“Cohen!” Hermione warned sternly, her mouth forming the words that the prefect’s power should not be abused like this, but her voice was drowned out by Ron.
“And this, the ‘Friendly Alliance Ordinance for Intelligent Magical Creatures’—Hermione, I told you so.” Ron, who rarely reads newspapers, unusually found the section he wanted to read in the Daily Prophet. “Mr. Norton will definitely find a way to legalize all of Cohen’s animals.”
"It sounds like we'll be having a goat teach Defense Against the Dark Arts next semester," Cohen said with foresight. "First, we need to get it legally registered, then solve Dumbledore's problem of finding teachers—and I still haven't seen my chimera released by Edward..."
“That would be even cooler,” Ron said dreamily. “There’s never been anyone taught by a three-headed Greek monster before.”
“Fortunately, the chimera has already met most of the participants in the Magical Creatures Protection class…” Hermione said, “so it shouldn’t cause panic, but I still feel a little—”
"Who was it that wanted the Chimera to teach us Defense Against the Dark Arts last time?" Ron said with a grin.
“That was a last resort when Umbridge was around!” Hermione retorted, blushing. “And I didn’t say the Chimera Cult was bad; I just thought some people might be scared, and then…”
“Then get eaten by a lion,” Cohen said casually, as he stuffed two pieces of bread into his pocket and prepared to leave. “Please ask the professor for leave for my first class this morning, if he finds out.”
"But Professor Burke's class this morning is the first one—"
“Then there’s no need to worry. Just say I was hit on the head by the Killing Curse yesterday and have been bedridden ever since,” Cohen said.
“He’s been watching you for a while now. You can’t possibly be in the dorm and the Great Hall at the same time…” Harry reminded him, pointing to the faculty seating area.
"Fine, fine..." Cohen said helplessly.
Then he made a series of gestures toward Herbert, and Cohen felt that his meaning should be quite clear—
"I have to go, so I'm skipping class today."
Herbert nodded, unsure if he had understood correctly, but Cohen couldn't care less.
He also needs to go to the alchemy classroom at Hogwarts to see if there are any materials there to make his own mind-synchronizer, such as mithril and meteorite fragments.
For some reason, making this thing requires unicorn horns. Luckily, I have a lot of unicorns, so I can use the horns they shed before they reach adulthood. Otherwise, I would have to ask Hagrid if he had found any in the forest.
Alchemy at Hogwarts is an elective course, which can only be taken by sixth and seventh year students who meet certain requirements, and the course will only begin if at least ten students register in advance to take the course.
Therefore, this classroom is always covered in dust.
Finally, Cohen found it in the dungeon behind the small gate in the courtyard, right next to the "Sleeping Dragon, Do Not Disturb" statue.
At the other end is a spiral staircase leading downwards.
