Chapter 491 Geniuses Always Appear in Clusters

"I can take you to see them tomorrow, and we can also see what kind of food the Ministry of Magic is feeding the lion so that it keeps staying there," Cohen said.

After hearing Cohen's instructions, the old water snake seemed to become more energetic.

"And you, you must build a fence before you drink," Cohen warned the unicorns before leaving. "If I find you jumping into the lake again, I'll cut off your food supply—leaving you nothing but grass."

"Oh, Captain, my Captain!" cried the unicorn named Francis in anguish.

"This poem is a lament for the dead," Cohen said, rubbing his temples.

The next day, Cohen went to the Ministry of Magic with Edward under the pretext of wanting to observe the work positions in advance.

"Don't worry, I won't cause you any trouble," Cohen assured Edward. "I won't take advantage of being the minister's son to cause trouble in other people's offices."

Rose just laughed and didn't object at all.

“When you promised me you wouldn’t cause any trouble last time, I saw you blow up the Ministry of Magic in the blink of an eye,” Edward whispered in Cohen’s ear.

Will you go out and indulge in passion again tonight?

In the end, Edward still brought Cohen along.

"Forget about that place. They won't let you in unless you know someone there," Edward warned.

Cohen nodded obediently.

"Why did you bring the box along?" Edward asked, puzzled, before scattering the Floo Powder.

“Bring the Chimera back,” Cohen said. “Old Water Serpent misses his child; you’ve borrowed it for four months and haven’t returned it.”

“I can’t exactly airlift it directly to Hogwarts, can I?” Edward tapped Cohen on the head. “Don’t worry, it’s doing very well. Everyone in the department likes it—Amos even brings dragon meat to the lions quite often.”

Cohen felt that it might not be that they really liked the Chimera, but simply that a Chimera that could be communicated with and had no malice gave them a sense of security, especially when the shadow that had shrouded the wizarding world for decades had reappeared.

After stepping out of the fireplace in the Ministry of Magic's main hall, Cohen was dazzled by the newly renovated hall.

The original marble floors and carved walls were all replaced, but the materials remained the same.

The key is the Magic Brothers Fountain that Cohen blew up. The original sculpture was made of pure gold, depicting a wizard holding a wand aloft, surrounded by witches, centaurs, goblins, and house-elves in worship—now it has been replaced by a giant, stone-carved chimera.

Water gushed from the mouths of the three heads of the Chimera Beast, arcing through the air before falling into the pool below.

The pool was still filled with coins donated to St. Mungo's Hospital. Cohen remembered that there were originally only some bronze knat and silver shiko, and no galleons at all—but now there were quite a few galleons here, so it seemed that chimeras were still very popular.

On the way to the minister's office with Edward, many newly arrived employees greeted him warmly.

Every few people, the same thing would be repeated: "Surprised to find Cohen next to Edward → Praise Cohen's youthful talent → Ask Cohen if he has any plans to work for the Ministry of Magic."

"Will all this money in the pool really go to the hospital?" Cohen asked curiously.

“Most of the time, yes,” Edward said softly.

"Whoa!" Cohen's eyes lit up.

Chimera Beast is still useful.

"Since everyone likes the Chimera so much, how about we start a paid lion-touching event?" Cohen said. "Or take photos riding on its back, limiting the number of people to a few each day. That would both raise the price and—"

"Then they can't be sold?" Edward asked. "I've always been quite open about their management," Cohen said seriously, "as long as they don't do anything particularly perverse—"

They had arrived at the door of the minister's office.

The Minister of Magic's office was on the first floor, next to the Senior Deputy Minister's office—and Cohen didn't even need to go inside to know who was there...

“The Department of Magical Creature Management and Control is on the fourth floor. Just go find Amos or anyone and tell them you need to pick up a Myramon.” Edward pushed Cohen toward the door of the deputy minister’s office. “You can also have Arnold take you there—Percy, come to my office.”

A tall young man with fiery red hair came running over without stopping.

“Good morning, Minister,” Percy said excitedly to Edward. “Did you see my report from yesterday…?”

“It’s not about the report, it’s about your job change,” Edward said. “Come in and let’s talk.”

Percy seems to be the same as always...

Cohen walked into the deputy minister's office, where he immediately saw Arnold buried in piles of documents.

The decor here looks like a normal study, with some torn pink wallpaper and holes left by hooks on the walls.

"What are you doing here?!" Arnold immediately poked his head out from the pile of documents when he heard someone come in.

Seeing Cohen in his own office was quite a surprise to him.

"Does your dad know? You're not here to bomb the Ministry of Magic again, are you?"

“Do I look that much like a terrorist!” Cohen said angrily. “It was Voldemort who did it.”

"Come on, that's not what your dad told me," Arnold said. "If you want to blow something up, go blow it up in your dad's office. I've already used up all my reimbursement quota here—you have no idea how many indelible curses the last old hag in this office left behind..."

“Since you also insulted Umbridge, I won’t bomb your office today,” Cohen said. “I came with Edward today to pick up Myramon and take it back; its father misses it.”

It was a bit unsettling to ask Arnold to take time out of all that paperwork to accompany him to the fourth floor. Cohen even considered saying, "I can go by myself; everyone knows me."

Until Cohen discovered that the documents on Arnold's desk appeared to be disguised old newspapers...

“What is this…” Cohen pulled out a copy of the Daily Prophet from the pile of documents and asked.

“Investigation, investigation…” Arnold hurriedly snatched it from Cohen’s hand and stuffed it haphazardly into the pile of documents.

"Anyone who didn't know better would think you were with the Time and Space Administration." Cohen instantly understood what Arnold was doing. "Oh—I see, you're pretending to be busy and slacking off!"

"Shh! Your dad might hear you," Arnold quickly shushed. "Everyone slacks off at work."

“Birds of a feather flock together,” Cohen said, pointing fingers from his moral high ground.

“Your dad did it too,” Arnold said.

“Going down the same path,” Cohen said.

"You kid... if it weren't for your dad always trying to get me to work overtime..."

“I can’t think of anything else, but I just want to criticize you guys,” Cohen said. “As compensation, you have to take me to a place of passion and debauchery tonight.”
