Chapter 572 A Deeply Confident Resentment is Written on His Face

"How did you get my love letter?!" Edward pressed.

“From an old textbook,” Cohen said, spreading his hands. “Advanced Potion Making—”

"You found it?" Edward asked immediately. "Shouldn't it have a password?"

“It’s in the cabinet in the potions classroom,” Cohen grinned. “Besides, I know what color your underwear is, not to mention the password.”

Edward took a deep breath and covered his face with his hands.

"It's alright, it's just a diary. I deliberately read it secretly by myself and didn't let anyone else see it," Cohen comforted her.

"Good son—"

“But then again.”

Cohen pulled a stack of photos out of his pocket.

"?" Edward immediately snatched the photo from Cohen's hand.

The text above is full of Edward's textbook rants and rants about Cohen.

Phrases like "Go home and cry to your mom, you little peeping Tom," "You little brat who inherited your stupid brain from your parents," "You poor thing with no girlfriend," and "You'll never find a partner in your life" are used to describe such things.

“You’re so sexy,” Cohen said.

“This is the agreed-upon answer,” Edward said, rubbing his forehead, then stuffed all the photos into his pocket, not returning a single one to Cohen. “Your mother doesn’t know, does she?”

“I don’t know, but I’m not sure if I’ll find out later—” Cohen said in a drawn-out voice, “The diary is still with me…”

"Quick, take it out—" Edward quickly reached into Cohen's pocket.

"No!" Cohen said, protecting his pockets as he tried to dodge.

"Listen to me! Cohen, hurry—"

"Who gave you the right to mock my silent spell—"

"I definitely helped you learn faster—"

"Liar! You even bragged about it to others..."

"So you're still holding a grudge, aren't you?"

"No--"

"His face practically screamed 'I'm holding a grudge!'"

The kitchen door was pushed open, and Cohen and Edward, still struggling over a bag, turned to look at the doorway together.

Rose held a small vial of blue potion in her hand, looking at the father and son suspiciously.

"What are you doing?"

“It’s nothing,” Edward said immediately.

“It’s nothing,” Cohen replied.

“Then there must be something.” Rose saw through Edward and Cohen’s lie at a glance. “It’s not some dangerous ‘little animal’ again, is it?”

Rose's gaze fell on the horned camel skin pouch that Cohen was protecting.

"It's over." Edward sighed deeply.

"Now we're even," Cohen sighed.
-
After Cohen and Edward handed over the diary from the camel skin bag, Rose took it to the living room and began to flip through it with great interest.

"Edward, how come you used to... *chuckles*"

Rose couldn't help but laugh out loud.

“这下你知道我其实写了很多情书的事情了。”爱德华颓然地说。 “'喜欢你揍跑那群斯莱特林学生的样子',这是真话还是客套话?”罗丝朝爱德华问,“我记得你当时连看都不敢看我,莉莉说我那时候太粗暴了,像个悍匪。”

“Of course it’s true,” Edward said quickly. “I like ruthless criminals—I mean, ones who look like you—no—I mean—”

Edward began to ramble incoherently.

“It means he likes you no matter what,” Cohen explained to Edward.

“Yes, that’s right.” Edward nodded repeatedly.

"Cohen, how did you find your father's old diary?" Rose asked curiously.

“That diary was hidden inside his ‘Advanced Potion Making’,” Cohen said. “It took me a long time to decipher the code.”

"What password?" Rose asked, her eyes shining.

“I tried every single name I knew,” Cohen said. “Edward Norton, Arnold Pisgood, Martha Norton, Charleson Norton, Rose Burke… I got yelled at for every mistake I made—”

"That was set in the diary, I didn't really want to curse Cohen to never find a girlfriend!" Edward immediately clarified.

"So what's the real password?" Rose raised an eyebrow when she heard that all the names were wrong. "Which friend of yours?"

“His favorite girlfriend,” Cohen added fuel to the fire.

“Stop teasing your dad, Cohen,” Rose said, completely trusting Edward. “Your dad has never had another girlfriend—Edward?”

“Yes…” Edward’s face turned bright red.

“Rose Norton—uh-uh-uh—” Edward covered Cohen’s mouth as he said the correct password.

Rose's eyes widened.

“I wanted to marry you back then…” Edward said shyly.

“You should have sent me these letters a long time ago.” Rose hugged Edward and kissed him. “We’ve been married for so long, what are you trying to do by showing them to me now?”

"I just feel..."

"No need to feel, I'll feel it myself..."

"..." Cohen stared in disbelief at the suddenly changed atmosphere.

How did it turn into something erotic while we were getting into it?

"Cohen is still here..."

"Then let's go upstairs—"

"it's not good……"

"What's wrong with it? You're only in your thirties, you can't say it's bad."

“Why don’t you just go to your room? Grandma and I will take care of ourselves,” Cohen said helplessly. “I’m used to this kind of atmosphere at school…”

Martha had already dozed off on the sofa with Mr. Frondo in her arms, but Frondo was still awake, the cat watching them intently.

“I think Cohen could learn from your father,” Rose said with a smile, “but don’t be like him and stuff love letters into your pocket without sending them out.”

Then, Edward and Rose, still entwined in their embrace, stumbled upstairs—

“You really should find a mate, Cohen. Cats your age usually have several litters of kittens. If you don’t mind, I’ve actually met several single young women in Fort Combe. You could use the ‘my cat can do backflips’ trick to win them over. Speaking of which, I have to mention one of my adopted cats. He never really wanted a girlfriend, but with my help, he successfully dated a witch and…”

“Shut up,” Cohen said, covering his ears. Then he waved his wand and used a blanket to catch Martha, who was sleeping on the sofa, so she wouldn’t have to sleep on the sofa and have aches and pains the next day.

Finding a partner is still too far off.

Cohen understood what the coming year would bring: killing Dumbledore, breaking with the Ministry of Magic, and dealing with Voldemort and Helbo.

Even the most wonderful romance is something you should only consider after it's all over.
