Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!
Chapter 580 Cohen's Horcrux
Chapter 580 Cohen's Horcrux
"When using Phantom Formation, the most important thing to remember is the three Ds!"
Tykros said,
"Goal, determination, composure!"
"Snapped--"
Cohen had already teleported into the wooden circle.
Immediately, Tykroos and everyone else's eyes were drawn to Cohen.
"Snapped!"
Cohen flashed back to his original position.
"so?"
“That’s right, that’s it!” Tykros said incredulously. “Mr. Norton did it! You see, it’s not as difficult as you think. Okay, let’s try it—”
Cohen's successful first attempt earned him the privilege of watching others practice from the sidelines, as well as Professor McGonagall's smile of satisfaction mixed with pride.
But the other students didn't have it so easy. Harry spun around in place, but he didn't disappear; Neville fell backward to the ground with a thud; Ernie closed his eyes and jumped into the wooden hoop in a ballet pose. He was excited for a while after opening his eyes, until someone laughed and reminded him, "You actually hopped into the hoop."
Tykros remained remarkably calm about the scene, as he hadn't had high expectations for the students' first attempt.
The second and third times were the same.
The fourth time, someone split into two, and the horrific scene caused the students to scream.
Until the end of get out of class, only Cohen had successfully manifested his phantom form.
However, this is also why the course needs to last twelve weeks—apparition still requires a period of practice for human students.
"How did you do that?" Ron asked Cohen after class. "I just felt a tingling sensation in the soles of my feet."
“That’s because you’re tired from walking around,” Cohen reminded him.
“Or perhaps your sneakers are too small,” Hermione chuckled. Her progress in Apparition was the fastest, except for students like Cohen who had achieved instant success.
“I still prefer flying,” Harry said. “Hey, Cohen, where are you going?”
“Getting ready to go to Hogsmeade?” Cohen said. “I have some things to take care of.”
Cohen has one thing he's been putting off doing—or perhaps two.
He needs to get two Death Eaters from the Dementors, one to kill and make a Horcrux, and the other to test the medicine he made for Neville's parents.
Cohen himself would certainly find it inconvenient to travel to Azkaban during his school years, so the task of leading prisoners would have to be handed over to Cohen's Dementor brothers.
-
When Cohen arrived outside Hogsmeade with the box, he could easily spot the Dementors wandering around the edge of the village.
And Cohen saw one who flew the most enthusiastically and dressed the most uniquely.
Only one Dementor likes to wear scarves wrapped around its body—Mick.
Mick's presence here indicates that Herbert is also nearby, but Cohen decides to obtain the prisoners from the other Dementors before going to find them.
Cohen walked along the path at the edge of the village and called down a few Dementors.
Do you have anything to eat? Get me some.
Before Cohen could even finish his question, the Dementors handed him their brains, which were hidden beneath their cloaks.
"No, not this—it's a person, remember the person? The one that's everywhere here," Cohen gestured.
At that moment, three Dementors put their heads back under the cloak, then simultaneously pulled out three barely alive people dressed in prison uniforms from Cohen's body. [Thank you]
Cohen tossed all three of them into his box and thanked the Dementors—who, in turn, shared in the pleasure they had absorbed.
After shouting "Don't eat living people!" into the box, Cohen decided to go check on Mick.
Mick kept flying up and then crash-landing in one area, as if he were playing some kind of game.
Ultimately, Cohen found Herbert in the Screaming Shack area.
He was wearing a thick coat and playing a tossing game with Mick in the sky with his wand—the ball was colorful and looked like it had been brought back from Hawaii.
"Cohen?!"
As Cohen approached, Herbert spotted him instantly and exclaimed in surprise.
“Ah, what are you doing here…” Cohen looked at Mick, then at Herbert, who was already sweating.
“Just teasing Mick, he loves this,” Herbert laughed heartily, stepping forward to hug Cohen. “He even calls me Dad—I have to say, Cohen, he gives me...just like you…”
“Because he is me,” Cohen said. “We appeared around the same time, remember?”
"Did Dumbledore show you that memory?" Herbert asked softly.
"Yes, it made me feel a little uncomfortable," Cohen admitted.
"Sorry, I……"
“But it’s meaningful; knowing is better than not knowing,” Cohen said. “And there’s the Sissoko thing; I had no idea he had his eyes gouged out every day in the lab—”
“It’s all in the past, it’s all in the past…” Herbert patted Cohen on the back. “At least we’re still together. Oh, by the way, after traveling to so many places with Mick, he’s learned a lot—guess what he’s learned?”
[Writing...]
After circling around Cohen a few times, Mick drew the word "write" on the dirt with his withered fingers.
[Happy with Dad...]
It wrote a long passage, the letters were a bit crooked, but there wasn't a single spelling mistake.
"As long as you're happy." Cohen laughed and patted the back of Mick's head under his cloak.
"Want to come to Hogsmeade this weekend?" Herbert asked Cohen. "For a drink?"
“Butterbeer is fine, but hard liquor is not,” Cohen said, raising an eyebrow. “Otherwise, Edward will get angry—I still have five months before I turn 18.”
“Of course I won’t force you to drink any strong liquor,” Herbert laughed heartily. “You still have school to attend—how was last semester? Did you receive any Christmas presents from me?”
“Received it, I really like that spyglass,” Cohen said. “I bet the Dementor design was custom-made.”
“Of course, Mick ordered it for you. You have no idea how the shop owner talked to Mick after he put on this Dementor hearing aid. He was shaking like a leaf, but he was also curious and wanted to say more to Mick. In the end, he kept asking me if Mick was some kind of wizard in disguise…”
On the way to the Three Brooms, Herbert chatted with Cohen about interesting things that happened on their trip.
It's clear that traveling with Mick has finally helped him emerge from the shadows of the past.
“When you have time, you can travel for a year and see the scenery. It’s good for your mood,” Herbert said with a smile. “Don’t worry about the money, I’ll cover everything for you.”
