Chapter 62 Who can’t fly?
Peter was currently sitting on his hospital bed, looking at the latest issue of the superhero magazine that Mary Jane had brought him.
However, looking at the upward curve of his lips, I couldn't tell whether he was paying attention to the magazine or not.
Flipping through the magazine, Peter's eyes flashed. He saw a villain in the comic, the Dinosaur Man, and the reptilian features reminded him of himself.
Peter's mind was suddenly in a mess and he didn't even notice that the page of the book was wrinkled.
"It was all just a dream." Peter comforted himself, but fragmented images kept flashing back in his mind.
Fine scales, sharp claws, and a crystal man?
Peter was very distressed. His memory only went up to this point. He couldn't remember anything after that. He only remembered that when he woke up, he saw Yang Le, and then he was taken to the hospital by him.
He was groggy on the way to the hospital and passed out again. When he woke up again, he was frightened by the sudden memory that came back to him and broke out in a cold sweat.
He thought that the hospital would find out that he was not human and that he would be sliced and studied by the government. After all, that's what they show on TV. But these were not his biggest worries.
He worried about whether Uncle Ben and Aunt May would get in trouble, what his friends would think of him, what Mary Jane would think of him.
Just when he was worried, reality stunned him.
The hospital examination showed that he was normal. Apart from a mild concussion, the doctor urged him to exercise more. Everything else was normal.
"I hope that was just a dream of mine." Peter sighed. He used to like the villain Dinosaur Man very much, but now he felt like he had PTSD when looking at it.
"What dream? Can you share it with me?"
A shrill, crazy voice sounded, and before Peter could react, the window glass exploded with a bang, followed by a strong wind that swept through the whole house.
"Ah!" Peter was startled by the sudden attack. Before he could react, a figure flew in from the window.
"Hahahahahaha!"
The man let out a shrill, crazy laugh. Peter forced himself to calm down, but was startled again by his appearance.
The man was standing on a silver wing-shaped object that made him float in the air. He was wearing a dark green armor that shone with a sickening luster under the moonlight. The most terrifying thing was the mask on his head, which was hideous and ugly, just like a goblin.
"What kind of monster are you!?" Peter screamed, and kept pressing the pager beside the bed, hoping someone would come to rescue him.
"Monster? This is really sad." There was no trace of disappointment in the man's crazy tone.
"I'd rather you call me Green Goblin, kid. Uncle Green Goblin needs your help now. Don't worry, there will be candy rewards afterwards! Hahahahahaha!"
After the Green Goblin finished speaking, he grabbed Peter, while letting out a creepy laugh.
"No! Save me! Four-Handed Overlord!" Peter curled up into a ball, closed his eyes, and called out to the only person he thought could save him, although he had no hope.
The Green Goblin laughed wildly and pounced on Peter. Just when he was about to succeed, an agile figure jumped in from the window and kicked him, sending him flying and hitting the wall.
The flying skateboard stayed in place because no one was controlling it.
Peter heard the Green Goblin's laughter suddenly stop, and heard the sound of something heavy falling to the ground. He immediately opened his eyes to check the situation.
Peter saw a slender figure, probably a woman, wearing a battle suit in a combination of pink, white and black. Although he couldn't see her face, for some reason, Peter felt that the figure looked familiar.
"I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but it's not the Four-Handed Overlord that's here."
The man spoke, his voice clearly processed, an electronic synthesized sound. "Uh, thank you for saving me." Peter didn't know how to start, so he could only thank him. Things unfolded so quickly that he hadn't even digested them yet.
"You're welcome." Gwen shrugged and said nonchalantly.
At this time, the Green Goblin who had fallen to the ground also got up. The Green Goblin noticed the spider web pattern on Gwen's battle suit, the unusual strength of Gan Cai's kick, and his swift movements. He immediately guessed that Gwen was the one who was bitten by the radioactive spider.
But unfortunately, he doesn't know the true identity of the person bitten by the radioactive spider. Cindy won't tell her, but this doesn't affect the Green Goblin's bad mouth.
"Let me see what I found. A small spider in a cage for people to watch." The Green Goblin put one hand on his waist, quietly pressed the control button of the glider hidden on his belt, and said suspicious words.
"For people to see?" Gwen was indeed attracted by Norman's words. "What do you mean?"
Because of Yang Le's previous analysis, Gwen knew that she was most likely under surveillance. Now that the Green Goblin said this, it was hard not to attract her attention.
"What do you mean?" The Green Goblin smiled sinisterly.
"It means trick or treat!"
Before he finished speaking, the glider that was on standby nearby started up, and a blade popped out from each wing, spinning and flying towards Gwen.
"Be careful!" Peter, who was standing by, saw it clearly and immediately warned.
Unexpectedly, Gwen didn't even need to look back. She just touched the ground with her toes and jumped to avoid the attack.
Seeing that his plan failed, the Green Goblin stopped the rotation of his glider, jumped onto the glider that was flying towards him, changed direction and flew out of the window.
The ward was small and not suitable for him to fight. As long as he got outside, he would have air superiority and it would be easy for him to win.
Gwen saw what the Green Goblin was planning, raised her arm and shot out spider silk, which stuck to the Green Goblin's glider, preparing to pull him off.
However, the speed of the spider silk was not as fast as the glider, and the Green Goblin still flew out of the ward.
"Hahahahahahaha!" The Green Goblin laughed wildly after succeeding.
"A spider that can't fly can only be my target!"
"Oh?" He walked to the window, put his hands on his hips and looked at the proud Norman.
"Who said I can't fly?"
After saying that, Gwen jumped out of the ward.
Just when the Green Goblin thought the other party had gone crazy, Gwen's suit changed.
The suit first changed from pink, white and black to green and black, then Gwen's back began to swell and twist, and finally turned into a backpack with a pair of wings, and then the suit turned back to its original color.
"Fly into space, the universe is infinite!"
Under the Green Goblin's shocked eyes, a flame spewed out of the backpack on Gwen's back and flew straight towards him.
"WTF!"
The Green Goblin was so frightened that he kept swearing. He quickly controlled the glider to continue to rise, but the glider sounded an alarm, indicating that the altitude was almost the limit of this test aircraft.
