Dragon Tribulation of All Realms

Chapter 50 I told you not to be the venue

Chapter 50: I told you not to be a venue
"There are vampires hiding in your town and village, and I need your help."

Tolan found Captain Vasco, one of his hands clutching a pure white spike radiating divine power, while the other held a lifeless vampire head. Without its magical disguise, the vampire's blood-red eyes and sharp, protruding canines were exposed in the dim light of the night. The captain, who had been half asleep a moment before, was furious at being awakened, and his eyes suddenly widened.

"What exactly is going on? How many are there?"

Vasco straightened his back abruptly, grabbing his weapon and torch as quickly as possible. He swung his arm at the sentry who had led the sentinel into the barracks, and his trusted confidant, who had worked with him for many years, immediately took action, going to various rooms in the camp, silently waking each of his companions, and then sending them to the assembly square.

"I don't know, so I need your help. There's evidence pointing to the mayor's house, but this requires investigation."

He did not immediately voice his speculation about the malachite mines.

He carefully observed the captain's expression.

What secretly relieved him was that the emotion on the captain's face was anger rather than tension.

"There are quite a few locals among my soldiers." He nodded to Tolland. "And I heard that you Sentinels have many ways to quickly identify vampires."

"There are some."

The captain of the guard picked up the helmet, thought for a moment, and held it in his hand instead of putting it on. He and Tollan then walked out of the captain's tent. A group of slightly uneasy Eastland guards formed a fairly neat array outside the tent, looking at him with eyes that were either nervous or expectant.

He nodded at Toland.

The Sentinel then stepped forward, dropped the vampire's head, held the relic in his hands, and nailed it to the stake. He took a deep breath and began to pray.

"I beseech you, Stendarr. Force of justice, guardian of mercy."

"Please lower your light of protection so that evil will have no place to hide."

"Please show your divine power and grant mortals the strength to fight."

A pure white divine light immediately rose, a light quite different from the healing magic Wu Chen had displayed. The next moment, the pure white light seeped into the soldiers' bodies, blessing their armor and weapons, emitting a faint glow.

They received divine blessings and powers.

And those beings who are unworthy of being protected are exposed to the holy light!

Several soldiers suddenly screamed. Thick black smoke billowed from their bodies, and they burned in a divine glow. One of them turned around and tried to escape without hesitation, but the next moment, a flying axe thrown from the captain's hand accurately struck him in the back of the head!
"Evil creature!"

"Get rid of them!"

"Purify!"

The weapons swung, and the lower-level vampires who hadn't had time to escape were immediately cut down. No one would have thought that several vampires who couldn't move freely during the day were hiding among the town guards.

This means they were developed not long ago—perhaps even today. To accomplish this, there must be a traitor within the town guards, and he must be of a high rank!

A thin black mist emerged, and a ball of illusionary red light gently exploded like a bubble. Vice Captain Zed, standing at the front of the team and closest to Vasco, looked dazed. The invisible power that was controlling his mind was immediately dispelled and erased.

His eyes suddenly widened—

"Wait! It wasn't me—it wasn't me who did that! I couldn't control myself!"

The sword was already at his neck, and the guards beside him all looked at him with vigilance and even hatred. One soldier who had always disliked him kicked him hard in the knee, forcing him to kneel on the spot.

"It's not my fault! Don't kill me... I... My father is the mayor!"

His father was indeed the mayor.

Vasco's eyes flashed with understanding, while Tolan's brows showed surprise. It had only been a brief test, but he hadn't expected to encounter such an unexpected situation!

"Monsters must die." The captain of the guards lifted him up. While they were under the mayor's command, they were actually directly under the command of the palaces of the kings. "And we and your...father, we really need to have a good talk and settle accounts."

..............................

——[Kill 3 low-level vampires and gain 10 resource points.]

Wu Chen pulled his hand free, the Binding Sword's blade detaching from the monster's chest. This was the third he had slain along the way, and the sound of the scoreboard appeared in his mind. As expected.

Killing monsters that shouldn't appear will grant you resources. The roles and missions assigned to you by your friends clearly lean towards the "correction" type.

——Let the abnormal return to normal.

——Let the wrong return to the right.

——But if that’s the case, what about me?
His guess seemed wrong, but the resources he had obtained were indeed real. He immediately put aside this useless thought and continued to advance deeper into the vast underground mine. On the way, he encountered many zombies and low-level vampires who tried to hinder him, but they were quickly killed or injured by his spells.

The progress is going smoothly.

He didn't need to expend much effort to find the deepest ritual hall.

The monster is there.

That group of people is right there.

The edges of the vast field were carved with a profane mass of runes. Circles of lit candles formed bizarre patterns that defied geometric aesthetics. The symbol of Molag Bal, the source of vampires, the lord of violence, and the demon god, was precisely drawn and placed at the center of the runic structure. Hundreds of unconscious miners lay within the inner circle of the ritual, their bodies covered in bloodletting wounds, but they were not dead.

The ritual may already be running.

The host and assistants of the ceremony have already withdrawn from it.

A vampire spellcaster with the appearance of an elderly man, holding a bone staff, stood at the other end of the hall. At his side were several dark figures in black robes, emitting a murderous aura.

It just stands there.

It looked at Wu Chen, with red light flowing in its eyes.

"The academy's hound." The vampire mage's voice was hoarse and cold. "Aran sent you alone?"

The tone is quite loud.

Savos Aran, the current Head Mage of the Winterhold School of Magic, had lived a long life as a Dark Elf. Even as an apprentice, he had the ability to exploit opportunities, kill Labrinthian, and seal the dragon priest Molochi.

A Ran was definitely at the level of a Grand Master, surpassing even high-level wizards, with abilities that could perhaps be called legendary. And the vampire that appeared before Wu Chen might not even be able to withstand a single glance from him.

Wu Chen didn't answer, but simply watched. The magic glow condensed in his palm, and power immediately gathered around him.

The bluffing trick was exposed here, proving the powerlessness of the executor.

"You didn't kill the enchanted miners. You care about these living people." The wizard clenched the bone staff in his hand. "And I can sacrifice them to the great Molag Bal at any time. If you don't want to see me do that, you'd better show some sincerity."

"I assume you're setting up this ritual to advance." Wu Chen, however, simply stared at him quietly, all emotion hidden behind the mask. "The Lord of Violence has a discerning palate. A few dozen ordinary people probably wouldn't make suitable sacrifices, but if a mid-level wizard wielding Stendar's power were to be added, the outcome might be different."

"You didn't kill them because you were waiting for me. This proves that this land hasn't been completely immersed in the power of darkness."

The intelligence was corrected and the ceremony did not take place.

This land is still clean. It may be contaminated by darkness and evil, but it has not been completely transformed into an evil abode like the core area of the Death Spiral.

This was perfectly natural, as Hera had said. The dark wizard knew he was being targeted by a high-level wizard. With his whereabouts now exposed, escaping or defeating Wu Chen would inevitably result in a fatal blow from the high-level wizard. His only chance of success was to ritually sacrifice Wu Chen to the Lord of Violence the moment he was struck down, thereby increasing his power. This strategy could only be implemented once Wu Chen's whereabouts were exposed, meaning he had no time to set multiple deadly traps!
It was too late, and it didn't even dare to pollute the land in advance, because such a large-scale gathering of negative energy would inevitably attract the attention of high-level wizards!
This is the opportunity.

The vampire wizard realized his mistake and suddenly raised the hand holding the staff - dark and evil rays were cast out. However, Wu Chen, who had been gathering divine power, cast a protective spell!

The shield of light resisted the evil rays, and another magic encapsulated in the academy's seal was released in the instant of this exchange of initiative.

Restoration Guardian

Since this place wasn't yet inhabited by evil, it could be blessed. Even though the land of Nirn was far more resistant to magic than the masonry walls of Earth, the moment the barrier was deployed, the evil and darkness that filled the caverns were instantly driven away!

Light filled all directions.
