Conquer Europe from the West

Chapter 60 All Tactical Switchers

Chapter 60 All tactics changer
Ryan naturally knew that his mission was to guard the border of the empire, so for this purpose, his two thousand men were arranged to occupy almost the entire left and right sides of the battlefield.

But since the end of the last battle, the Seventh Army's army headquarters has not been able to issue an attack or retreat order to Mulhouse.

This made it very difficult for Brian, who had just taken over the front-line staff in the Alsace region, to function. Ryan had heard about this from many people.

But this was not the reason why he launched the attack.

As a commander of a front-line force, Ryan is not only responsible for the combat mission, but also for the soldiers under his command.

But the people in the rear don't care about their life or death.

Just as the artillery units clearly had the ability to bring Belfort within their firing range, they never did so, and repeatedly insisted on only bringing the first kilometer of the Falconer front into their artillery range.

Even after Ryan became familiar with General Schubert, Schubert only dispatched three artillery pieces and never mentioned advancing the front line.

Ryan didn't understand what was going on in this guy's head, but he knew it was definitely not a good thing.

the other side.

The defensive network built by Ryan also gave the rear headquarters a strange view.

That is to say, the Farlanes will definitely choose to attack from the front, and by then, it will be time for Ryan's troops to defeat them.

Their thinking was probably still stuck in the era of line soldiers from decades ago, and Ryan hated it.

Then the Farlans began to explore the system of skirmisher advancement.

on the ridge.

Ryan, who had advanced a hill with Brinkman, looked through the telescope at the figure at the foot of the mountain in the distance.

Those Farlanes who have entered the Vosges Mountains are still maintaining their own three-person team organization, but Ryan can't see any more complex formation mechanism.

"Maybe they haven't developed the three-three system yet... I can use this tactic to counter them."

He mumbled a few words, then asked Brinkman in a normal voice, "How many people did the Second Battalion gather?"

Brinkman: "Six hundred and forty men, including the assault company, a total of eight hundred."

"enough."

Ryan nodded and entered the system map.

There are more than thirty three-person teams in the Vosges Mountains. They are surrounding the foot of the mountain near Belfort, and seem to be hesitating between returning to rescue and moving forward to carry out the mission.

The 150mm K13 cannon easily tore apart one Farlan building after another. Each salvo of three cannons could destroy a two-story building, and then you could see several Farlans crawling out of it or dying inside.

"Damn it, what if it exploded at the beginning?"

Ryan was so angry at this scene that he immediately cursed Schubert in his heart.

But it's too late to talk about this now.

Turning his head to look behind him, Ryan could barely see a few sparks on the ground, as well as the cannon barrels standing on the ground like thorns.

These people may still be waiting for the Farlans to attack.

He shook his head and turned his attention back to the commanders of the Second Battalion and the Assault Company.

The battalion commander of the Second Battalion and all the officers of the three companies under his command gathered together, including the squad leaders of the infantry squads, who were either standing or squatting on a flat ground in front of Ryan.

Several soldiers were already standing together in raincoats. They had left a space in the middle, placed a waterproof map on it, and shone flashlights into it.

The commander of the assault company, Lieutenant Schneider's adjutant, Warrant Officer Kayneth, was standing behind Ryan with three platoon leaders and twelve squad leaders, waiting for instructions.

Ryan first pointed to a few locations on the map. "The enemy has now formed into dispersed teams, attempting to climb the Vosges Mountains and infiltrate Imperial territory."

He was very loud because he had to speak through the roar of the artillery.

"According to intelligence from the rear and the footage we just observed, the enemy may have already assembled a full regiment, and the remaining troops are most likely preparing to assemble."

Several arrows appeared on the map, indicating the enemy's attack routes, as Ryan had deduced based on the intelligence from the system map. He paused.

He glanced at all the officers and NCOs before him. "Considering the enemy's disposition gives us a significant advantage, I hope the soldiers of the Second Battalion and the Assault Company will use platoons as the primary unit, with squads as secondary units. Each group of three soldiers will form a system, maintaining a 20-30 meter spacing and providing mutual cover for each other as they advance."

"Then how do we determine friend or foe, Captain!"

A warrant officer raised his hand and asked.

Ryan thought for a moment before saying, "Just ask him what we're having for dinner."

"What did you eat?" The warrant officer was stunned for a moment, obviously looking like he couldn't remember.

Then he was patted on the head by the second lieutenant next to him: "We haven't eaten dinner tonight!"

"Oh yes, I haven't eaten yet." The young warrant officer suddenly realized, not realizing that everyone was looking at him as if he was an idiot.

Ryan immediately coughed twice and brought the topic back.

he said.

"The content of this operation is different from the past."

"We need to complete the encirclement of Belfort as quickly as possible and control the enemy's headquarters before their troops react." On the map, Ryan drew a big circle around the city center of Belfort.

This was the approximate location of the command post that he deduced from the density of personnel movements and the frequency of entry and exit at Balfour.

"Second Battalion, you are responsible for the encirclement of Belfort and ensure that the enemy cannot escape!"

"No problem, Captain." The second battalion commander nodded.

"Warrant Officer Kayneth."

Ryan turned to look at Schneider's adjutant: "Are you sure?"

Kayneth came forward, took a look at the map, and then said, "It's not a big deal, Captain."

Ryan was very satisfied with this, but he still added one more thing: "All those above the rank of colonel will be kept here. If the rest dare to resist, they will all be killed."

"no problem."

Kayneth nodded.

Ryan then waved to the soldiers beside him: "The Second Battalion is disbanded."

Several soldiers quickly put away the maps. After the lights disappeared, the only sounds left in the forest were human breathing and the rustling of origami.

The Second Battalion's commander immediately waved his hand and said, "Everyone has heard the Captain's orders. All members of the Second Battalion, following the Captain's orders, immediately form groups of three, 30 meters apart, and prepare to march."

The assault company members did not leave. Kayneth was a very smart man. He realized that there was something unspoken in Ryan's plan.

He was right.

As the last few members of the Second Battalion left, Ryan immediately went to find Kayneth.

"Warrant Officer, and everyone else."

Ryan held up his belt and stood in front of everyone in the assault company.

"I didn't expect the Second Battalion to be proficient in using the new tactics. After all, this is their first time on the battlefield."

"So they are only responsible for simple suppression and diversion tasks."

"Kayneth."

Ryan called out the name of the assault company's commander and handed Kayneth a spare whistle. "Advance according to the predetermined plan, go around to the west of Belfort, and stay out of the way until the Second Battalion surrounds Belfort."

He pointed at the whistle in his hand and said, "Once you hear me blow the whistle, you will immediately launch an attack from the rear of Belfort and head straight for their command post."
