Chapter 20 Scarecrow

After the wizard said this, he returned to the wizard tower and closed the door tightly.

Leon got up from the ground, looked at the mage tower, and knew that he probably couldn't knock on the mage's door, so he left the area in the rain.

Walking along the same path he came from, Lyon had a brand new experience. In this lush green forest, he felt unprecedented ease and comfort.

The plants here seemed to be welcoming his arrival. At the same time, Lyon was keenly aware that the small animals hiding in the pine trees were looking at him curiously.

However, these timid little guys had no intention of showing up, so Lyon did not disturb them. He returned along the same route. When he was about to leave the forest, Lyon suddenly squatted down.

He took out a hoe and dug up a green plant. The next second, a plant with thick roots like lettuce was dug out by Lyon.

“Wild wasabi (collected): a root spice that grows in the spring.”

"So you were hiding in the soil." Looking at the wild wasabi, Leon put it into his backpack and said with emotion, "If I hadn't possessed this new power, I really wouldn't have been able to detect your presence."

That's right, after drinking that unpalatable soup and awakening the power of nature, Lyon found that he had some interesting connections with nature. For example, this wild wasabi hidden in the soil was a special existence in Lyon's eyes that was extremely eye-catching among the surrounding plants and even glowed.

It was no wonder that Lyon hadn't found any wild collectible items unique to spring before. After all, the leaves buried in the soil and exposed outside looked the same as the surrounding green plants. If it weren't for the power of nature, Lyon, who knew nothing about the habits and forms of these plants, would have been unable to detect their hiding places.

Although the medicine tastes bad, the rewards shown so far are enough to surprise Lyon.

This extra ability basically installs a radar for Lyon to find wild plants, highlighting its practicality.

Moreover, Lyon believed that this power could not only be used for this kind of thing, but there should be other special features. It was just that he had not yet encountered the conditions that could trigger it, so Lyon could only hope for it.

As for the system, there was no hint about this kind of power. However, when Lyon opened the system panel, he still saw an additional entry in the treasure column description under his own panel, which was originally empty: Forest Magic.

Forest Magic: You possess the magic of the forest.
That was it. Such a simple and meaningless explanation made Leon look bewildered. He didn't know whether the system couldn't analyze the meaning of this forest magic, or simply felt that there was no need to analyze it.

Leon felt that the system most likely wanted him to explore, just like the previous crafting bar. If he didn't make things manually, the system might hide the fact that the crafting bar was activated from him for the rest of his life.

This gave him a new understanding of the system. This system seemed to be guiding and assisting him in this world. It had no active goals and would not ask for anything from Leon.

Just like the game Stardew Valley, all the secrets and Easter eggs are up to you to explore and discover.

But Leon thought this was fine, because it fit his current identity, an honest farmer.

After strolling back to the farm in the spring rain, Leon immediately took off his raincoat and rubber shoes, ran some clean cold water from the tap, wiped himself clean with a towel, and changed into a new set of clothes. It felt good to be refreshed, and after changing into new clothes, Leon didn't plan to go out again. Rainy days seemed to be a perfect match for watching TV.

Unlike in the game, in addition to the fortune-telling channel, weather forecast, and the occasional Cooking Queen program that teaches players cooking recipes, there are other programs on TV in real life.

For example, there are movie channels that broadcast movies, entertainment channels that broadcast soap operas and celebrity gossip, local radio stations that broadcast news, etc. The rich content perfectly helped Leon get through this boring time.

Only when the sky outside cleared up again did Leon turn off the TV and walk out of the cabin.

The farm was quiet after the rain, the air was filled with the smell of soil and grass, the whole farm seemed to be refreshed, and a lot of green came into Lyon's eyes.

Occasionally, you can see some wild flowers hiding in the grass and blooming tenaciously, swaying in the wind, and Lyon can feel the joy of these plants.

This special emotion also infected Leon, and he knew it must be related to forest magic.

Then Leon looked at the scarecrow he had made. Because of the baptism of rain, the scarecrow's clothes were now completely soaked, as was the hay used for filling. The scarecrow had now turned into a fat man, and looked very ugly.

After hesitating for a moment, Lyon pulled it out, dismantled it and destroyed it.

There's no way around it. The style of this inferior version of the scarecrow is too distorted. Not to mention whether it has the effect of driving away crows, just by inserting it here, Leon feels that the atmosphere of the farm has become weird. As a person who loves appearance, he still thinks from the bottom of his heart that this scarecrow should retire.

As its successor, Leon intends to use the scarecrow unlocked in the system production column as a replacement.

He opened the system's production panel, selected the scarecrow, and looked at the materials needed for production. Leon first glanced at the inventory in his backpack and found that he didn't bring any coal, so he went back to the treasure chest in the wooden house to get a piece.

After spending fifty pieces of wood, one piece of coal, and twenty pieces of fiber, Leon looked at the extra scarecrow in his backpack that replaced these materials and took it out.

Unlike the scarecrows he made himself, the scarecrows provided by the system looked more than two meters tall, with a lonely wooden stick in the lower half and a complete human figure in the upper half. If he didn't look closely, he would be no different from an ordinary person.

Moreover, this scarecrow was wearing overalls and a straw hat. If it weren't for the straw sticking out from under the sleeves and the wooden sticks on the lower body, Leon would even think that he had made a lifelike doll.

It is hard to imagine that the raw materials for this realistically crafted scarecrow are wood fiber and coal. As expected, anything related to the system is not scientific at all.

Lyon brought the scarecrow to the center of the farmland and inserted it into the soil. After observing the seeds planted in the morning for a while to see if there was any soil erosion, Lyon left the farm.
