A farming master in Stardew Valley

Chapter 55 Traveling Merchant

Chapter 55 Traveling Merchant
Thinking of this, Leon smiled. Perhaps this was also a wonderful experience, wasn't it? However, Mr. Qi probably wouldn't do this. After all, with his humorous attitude, he would probably just laugh and watch Leon do these outrageous things.

Recovering his thoughts, Lyon picked out a pack of pasta from the refrigerator and took it out to cook. Since there were no ingredients suitable for making authentic pasta sauce in the refrigerator, Lyon used scallion oil from fried leeks to mix the noodles. The unexpected deliciousness of the pasta obtained by this cooking method that could piss off Italians surprised Lyon.

Life on the farm is so simple. Apart from daily work and three meals a day, Lyon basically spends the rest of his time wandering around outside, looking for opportunities to make a fortune. On the farm, apart from the old TV, there is nothing else to entertain Lyon.

So after watching the local news and tomorrow's weather forecast and confirming that tomorrow would still be a sunny day, Leon went to bed early.

Early to bed and early to rise makes for good health. The next day, Lyon woke up full of energy and immediately dressed, washed up, and went out of the house with a kettle.

As usual, all the crops were watered. Lyon looked at some crops that had already sprouted tender leaves and were growing well. Most of them were fennels that matured the earliest and had already grown five or six true leaves.

The rapid growth in such a short period of time made Leon a little unsure whether the soil in Stardew Valley was too good or the growth rate of plants in this world was just so exaggerated.

Of course, either one is a good thing. It allows Lyon to cash in on mature crops sooner and even enrich his current simple menu.

After watering the plants, Lyon simply fried a few eggs for himself and cooked a small pot of porridge. After eating, drinking and washing the dishes, Lyon noticed that the mailbox was half open, which meant that he had received emails again.

Hello, new farmer:

I am a traveling merchant from the Gotlo Empire. After I learned that this farm had a new owner, I couldn't wait to send you a letter to inform you that today I will park my car in the open space next to the largest tree in the coal forest, northwest of your south.

My truck is loaded with goods from the Gotlo Empire and other islands in the Gem Sea, and the prices are favorable. You can buy many rare goods that are not available in the Fingir Republic. They are waiting for your visit."

There was just one letter in the mailbox, and the writer wasn't a resident of the town, but a traveling businessman.

After reading the letter, Lyon returned to the cabin, took all his savings, took out his bicycle, and rode towards the southern forest.

The wandering merchant was easy to find, after all, he did not go deep into the forest, and Leon was also impressed by the big tree he mentioned. After all, the big tree was too eye-catching in the entire coal forest.

After riding past the big tree, Lyon saw a giant box-type carriage more than three meters high and more than five meters long parked in the middle of an open space.

When Lyon rode over, he saw that under the turquoise arched dome was the main body of the carriage with purple patterns. The front and rear wheels were of different sizes, but they could keep the carriage level.

There was a window on the left side of the carriage. A young man with a middle-parted hair color the same as the dome of the carriage was waving his arms enthusiastically at Leon, but he was not the focus of Leon's attention. Leon's attention was basically attracted by a fat purple pig in front of the carriage that was responsible for pulling the carriage.

The size of this pig is even comparable to that of a bear, and it wears glasses on its eye sockets. Because it doesn't need to pull the cart at the moment, this big purple pig just lies on the ground like a mountain of meat.

"Haha, everyone who sees it for the first time will be attracted by it, but sorry, this is my partner and driver, I refuse to sell it."

Seeing Leon staring at the purple pig, the traveling merchant complained familiarly. "Even if you sell it to me, I probably can't afford it." Thinking about the pig's ability to not only pull a cart but also swim, the absurd ability to swim across the sea, Leon felt that he couldn't afford such an incredible pig.

"But you can definitely afford my other goods. Would you like to come and have a look?" The traveling merchant took over the conversation, and then he pressed some button inside the carriage. With the window through which he had stuck his head out as the center, the carriage began to expand, and hanging on the walls of the carriage were packaged goods one after another.

Lyon took a quick look and found that there were indeed many types of items, and basically no two were the same. There was everything from fish to crops, furniture, paintings, seeds and fertilizers.

"Do you have red cabbage?" However, most of them were not what Lyon needed now, and there were too many things that Lyon was not sure what they were because the exhibits were too small, so he chose to consult the traveling merchant directly.

"There is no cargo this time." The traveling merchant answered truthfully.

"So what about next time?" Lyon asked back.

"I'm not sure. After all, every time I set out, I don't consider the type of goods. I sell whatever I find or purchase on the road." The traveling merchant explained.

"Can I ask you to bring me a red cabbage?"

Leon asked, after all, red cabbage is the only crop needed for sacrifice that cannot be obtained in the first year. It will take the second year to grow red cabbage, and Pierre will put its seeds on the shelves.

Leon had seen the list of goods in Pierre's grocery store, and there was indeed no red cabbage seeds for sale.

"Of course, the customer is God, right?" The traveling merchant nodded enthusiastically: "But you need to pay a deposit of one hundred yuan first, and an additional two hundred yuan in labor fees." The traveling merchant stated his offer.

"You're charging me three hundred dollars before I even see the goods? That's a bit expensive." Thinking back to when I used to work as a manager at Joja's supermarket and my monthly salary was only two thousand dollars, I realized how expensive it was compared to this three hundred dollar down payment.

"It's indeed a bit expensive, but after all, this requires me to go out of my way to find the red cabbage you need. I have to pay for the time cost and the possible dangers I may encounter." The traveling merchant explained.

Leon thought for a moment and shook his head: "Let's talk about it next time. I'm a little short of money now, so I'll wait until I have more money before ordering from you."

"Haha, okay." Hearing that Lyon did not agree to the offer, the traveling merchant was not angry. Instead, he comforted Lyon happily.

"Sir, you don't need to rush to place your order. Perhaps the next time we meet, I'll already have the red cabbage you need. Wouldn't it be better to get what you want without spending any extra money?"

I wish you all a happy May Day holiday. I will update once more first. I have something else to do, so I will update again in the afternoon or evening.
