Chapter 959 Water Vine
"Let's move on and not disturb these dead here."
Leon stood up and no longer paid attention to the tombstones and weapons here. He called Abigail and Sophia who were still searching, and continued to move forward. While moving, he deliberately avoided some areas with tombstones and broken weapons.
It was not until he reached the edge of the clearing that Lyon began to struggle again.
Because there are five forks in the road here.
“Follow the mushrooms.”
Just when Leon was hesitating whether to try to find the way by throwing away his shoes, he caught a faint murmur in his ears. The voice was very light and soft, like a woman's voice.
"Follow the mushrooms?"
Lyon pondered this sentence, then turned his attention back to the five forks in the road. After careful searching, he indeed found a small group of brown umbrella-capped mushrooms under the roots of a tree at one of the forks in the road.
"Go here."
Without questioning the hint that sounded like an auditory hallucination, Leon decisively chose the fork in the road where mushrooms were growing, and entered the fork together with Abigail and Sophia.
After crossing the fork in the road, another large open space appeared in front of the three people.
Gravestones and weapon debris can still be found in this clearing.
Leon avoided these things and walked around. When he found the fork in the road leading to the next area, he found mushrooms again from a fork in the road.
After believing this hint, Leon noticed that he was indeed getting closer and closer to the gathering place of the Junimos on the map. Although he took a lot of detours in the process, he was indeed on the right path.
At the same time, during this journey through the maze, Leon not only saw a large number of tombstones and weapon debris, but also some areas had dilapidated buildings in the same style as the Secret Forest. Abigail told him that these architectural styles came from elves.
"So, in that war, the dwarves were invaders." Lyon said, looking at the ruins around him that were no longer complete but still showed traces of the past.
"Yes." Abigail nodded. "The dwarves were indeed one of the initiators of the war. They fought against almost every creature living in the material world at the time. This is why dwarves are rarely seen nowadays. Most of them died in that war."
"I thought dwarves were pacifists," Sophia grumbled. "After all, textbooks describe their history and character. They're a group of craftsmen who live underground and enjoy working with ores. They'll even offer assistance to miners in times of crisis."
"That was a change that happened later. Dwarves weren't like this at the beginning. They weren't even a native race. The first group of dwarves that came to this world were very warlike and dangerous. They relied on the advantages of a large number of high-tech weapons to go to war with the indigenous people of this planet, just to plunder all the treasures and resources they liked." Abigail corrected.
"But what is the reason for this change? After all, according to Abby's description, those dwarves don't seem like ambitious people who can reform themselves." Sophia asked.
"They've been beaten and hurt. If they continue to stick to their previous strategies and styles at this time, their clan will be wiped out." Leon concluded. After all, he had seen too many such things.
Even while chatting, the three of them continued to move forward. After crossing the last fork in the road, the scenery in front of them suddenly became clear.
The first thing you see is a large calm lake, and then a large number of low houses on the river bank. The lower part of the house is made of bricks and stones, and the upper part is a roof formed by large green leaves. There is even a bird's nest on the top.
Leon immediately recognized the Junimo huts, proving they had arrived at the Junimo village where Yuzu was. However, what puzzled Leon was that they hadn't been so secretive about their arrival. How could they have already reached the area surrounding the huts, yet not a single Junimo had appeared?
Just as Leon was about to squat down and look inside through the hole, the only entrance and exit of the Junimo House, a series of puffing sounds appeared around him.
One after another, Junimos of different colors held up various fruits and surrounded Leon and his companions, cheering in unison. Among them, Yuzu was the most enthusiastic. She ran to Leon's feet and handed him a big apple.
"Welcome to our house! We are all very happy."
“Thank you.” Leon squatted down and took the apple that Yuzu brought. At the same time, he comforted the frightened Abigail and Sophia: “They are just welcoming us. This is a surprise. Don’t be too nervous. Be careful not to step on these little guys.”
Abigail and Sophia rolled their eyes. In fact, he didn't need them to say anything. After getting over the initial panic, they also understood the situation.
Besides Yuzu, some other brave Junimos came to Abigail and Sophia's feet and handed over their fruits as gifts. Some Junimos even made garlands and indicated that they would give them to Sophia and Abigail.
Faced with the actions of these cute little balls, Abigail and Sophia's hearts almost melted. While greeting every Junimos gathered around them, they almost never stopped saying thank you.
Looking at the two girls who were obviously more popular than him, and then seeing that there was only Yuzu beside him, Leon felt helpless.
If Leon hadn't known the naiveté of these Junimos, he would have suspected that they were just attracted by their beauty.
"They are a little afraid of you because the dark aura on you is too strong." Yuzu explained to Leon very understandingly.
"When we first met, you said that I had a dark aura. Do you know where this aura comes from?" After hearing what Yuzu said, Leon couldn't help but ask the question that had been bothering him for a while.
After all, he still wasn't sure whether this aura came from the desire within his body or from the residue from the monsters he killed.
"Yuzu doesn't know. Yuzu only knows that the dark aura on you is stronger than yesterday." Yuzu replied, shaking her head.
"Then I understand the situation." Leon immediately understood. It turned out to be the latter, and the stronger breath also proved this. After all, he had just confronted Apophis head-on and took the opportunity to stab it.
"Children are ignorant. They shouldn't be afraid of this aura. Instead, they should be proud of it. After all, it's proof of hunting evil monsters."
Just as Leon was thinking about how to get rid of this aura so that he could also enjoy the happiness of being surrounded by the Junimos, a Junimos that was much smaller than the surrounding Junimos, but with an extremely mature and intelligent temperament and appearance, walked up to Leon, bowed, and sighed in a very helpless tone.
"Who are you?" Leon asked curiously, looking at this Junimo who was completely different from Yuzu in terms of body shape, temperament, way of speaking and demeanor.
"You can call me Shui Teng. I am the village chief of this Junimo village." The small Junimo who called himself Shui Teng introduced himself to Leon seriously, and then stretched out his bean sprout-like little hand, as if he wanted to shake hands with Leon.
Leon immediately extended his hand and shook hands with him. Although it felt a bit strange, his expression was quite serious, because this Junimon named Shui Teng was really very stylish, especially when he was wearing the Junimon costume, which unexpectedly gave Leon a sense of oppression.
