Chapter 110 Locking in on that little ant

the next morning.

Jiang Yuan and Si Heng arrived at Su Mei's villa carrying gifts.

The maid said Su Mei wasn't home.

"When will Sister Su Mei be back?" Jiang Yuan placed the gift box on the stone table and said with a smile, "We're not in a hurry, we can wait for her here."

Upon hearing this, the maid hesitated, "This... I need to ask Madam."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work." Jiang Yuan nodded.

The servant turned and went into the main building of the villa.

"What's wrong?" Kang Chengye came downstairs in his bathrobe. He was drinking water in the living room when he saw two strangers sitting in the garden through the gap in the curtains. "Who are they?"

Maid: "Sir, that's a policeman."

Kang Chengye's expression changed slightly, and he frowned, asking, "What are the police doing here?"

"They said some confidential documents were dropped around here. Madam chatted with them, and she gave Daisy to the policewoman. She came today specifically to thank Madam..."

After a moment's thought, Kang Chengye said in a deep voice, "Let them go. There's no need to wait. Madam won't be back today."

"Okay." The maid replied and turned to walk quickly out of the main building. "Officers, the madam won't be coming back today."

Jiang Yuan and Si Heng exchanged a glance, their eyebrows slightly raised.

"I see." Jiang Yuan nodded, her gaze falling on the colorful flowers in the flower bed. "These flowers are so beautiful, did Sister Su Mei plant them?"

Maid: "Yes."

Jiang Yuan got up and walked to the flower bed to admire the flowers. "They're so beautiful, they're blooming so well."

Kang Chengye was about to go upstairs when he saw this scene before turning around. His heart skipped a beat, and his expression changed.

Without thinking twice, he quickly walked out of the main building and into the garden, saying, "Hello."

Hearing the sound, Jiang Yuan turned around to look at the other person.

Kang Chengye recognized her and a hint of amazement flashed in his eyes. "Hello."

"Who are you?" Jiang Yuan looked at him in confusion.

The maid explained, "This is our gentleman."

"Sister Su Mei's husband?" Jiang Yuan smiled politely. "Hello, I'm Blueberry."

"Blueberry?" Kang Chengye smiled. "A very nice name."

"Thank you."

Kang Chengye then looked at Si Heng, "And who is this?"

Following their pre-arranged answer, Jiang Yuan replied, "He is my boyfriend, Jiang Heng."

She didn't notice that Si Heng's ear tips turned slightly red when she said those words.

"Oh, it's your boyfriend." Kang Chengye's smile faded. "My wife isn't home. You're so thoughtful to come all the way here to thank her."

Jiang Yuan gave a meaningful smile, "It's only right. Curly cats are so expensive, I'm really grateful that Sister Su Mei was willing to part with her."

Kang Chengye knew they were coming, but he didn't react at first. However, he rushed out as soon as she walked to the front of the flower bed.

What else could this be but having something to hide?
"That's nothing," Kang Chengye waved his hand. "My wife isn't home. If you two want to thank her, you can come another day."

This is essentially a way of asking them to leave.

“Okay.” Jiang Yuan’s gaze fell on the flowers again. “Sister Su Mei’s flowers are so beautiful. May I take some pictures?”

Taking photos is no problem.

"Go ahead and take the picture," Kang Chengye nodded in agreement.

Jiang Yuan took a few photos and noticed ants crawling around on the edge of one of the flower beds and in the soil inside. "Huh?"

When Kang Chengye saw her stop in front of the flower bed, his heart felt as if it were being gripped by an invisible hand, and a barely perceptible look of panic flashed in his eyes.

"What's wrong, Miss Blueberry?"

"There are so many ants here!" Jiang Yuan exclaimed.

Kang Chengye breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that she had discovered ants.

He smiled faintly and said, "It's normal to have ants; they also like to eat flowers."

"I see," Jiang Yuan said with a look of realization. "Won't that affect the beauty of the flowers?"

“It will have some impact.” “I can’t bear to see such beautiful flowers suffer.” Jiang Yuan said as she spoke, “I’ll catch the ants.”

Kang Chengye and the servant looked surprised.

Catching ants?
Seriously, are you police officers that free?
Jiang Yuan glanced around and her gaze fell on the mineral water bottle in Si Heng's hand. "Drink the water in the bottle so I can put the ants in. We'll find a place to release them later."

"I really can't do anything with you." A helpless look appeared on Si Heng's handsome face, but he still finished the water as instructed and handed the bottle to her.

He turned to Kang Chengye and explained, "My girlfriend respects all life in nature; she wouldn't even hurt a tiny ant."

Kang Chengye looked somewhat awkward and coughed lightly, saying, "Miss Blueberry is truly kind-hearted and gentle."

Jiang Yuan caught a few ants, then gave a shy smile: "You flatter me. I've been exposed to this kind of thing since I was little, thanks to my grandparents. Since Sister Su Mei isn't home, we won't bother you any longer. Goodbye."

"Alright, take care, you two." Kang Chengye watched the two figures disappear, his gaze falling on the flower bed where Jiang Yuan was catching ants, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

Back in the car, Jiang Yuan held a clear mineral water bottle, gazing at the panicked little ants inside.

"This place seems a little different?"

"Wow, this water is so sweet! You guys should try some!"

"What is this? Where is it taking us?"

"..."

Listening to the little ants' words, Jiang Yuan said softly, "Don't be afraid, everyone. I won't hurt you. I just want to ask you a few questions."

The little ants started discussing it.

Is it a human speaking?

"Humans are so amazing, why do they need to ask us questions?"

"Wow, did I hear that right? Is the age of ants about to begin?"

"Speak louder, I can't hear you."

"..."

Jiang Yuan found it both amusing and exasperating. "How long did you stay in that garden?"

The little ants answered in a cacophony of voices.

"I've lived here for a long time."

“I’ve lived there since I was born.”

"I can't hear you, what are you saying?"

"..."

Jiang Yuan noticed that some of the ants had poor hearing.

She then asked, "Do you know the man who was talking to me just now?"

"What is she saying? I can't hear her at all."

"Yes, I know him. He's the owner of the garden."

"Don't you have a boyfriend? Why are you still asking about other men?"

Some of the ants had poor hearing, but fortunately, there was one clever ant.

Jiang Yuan: "Didn't he bury a human in the flower bed a couple of days ago?"

"what?"

"I do not know."

"I know about this; it was very late that night."

Jiang Yuan's eyes lit up as she fixed her gaze on the little ant. "What's your name?"

"Are you asking me?" the little ant asked.

"Yes."

"My name is Dao Dao."

"Hello, Daodao." Jiang Yuan greeted it. "My name is Jiang Yuan. Did you see them burying humans in the flower bed that night?"

Little Ant Dao Dao replied, "I was having a midnight snack when they disturbed me. I'm so angry!"

Thank you [墨殇] for the monthly pass, muah!
