Dragon Ball Arrives in Marvel
Chapter 104: The Suspected SHIELD
Chapter 104: The Suspected SHIELD (Please Read)
As the call ended, Smith Doyle looked at the three people in front of him and called Fox to make arrangements.
"Fox, from now on the three of them will be joining the League of Assassins."
Fox was a little surprised. Natasha was just discovered to be a spy, so how come she joined the Assassin's League with two other people in the blink of an eye?
Although somewhat puzzled, Fox nodded and said:
"Okay, I'll arrange it."
"I wonder who these two are?"
Smith explained:
"This is Iron Lady Melina, Natasha's family."
"The other is Alexi, a former Red Guardian and a member of Natasha's family."
Fox looked at Natasha with some surprise. It seemed like the whole family was coming to invest.
"Natasha, stay a moment. I have something to discuss with you."
Fox did not leave with Melina and Alexi immediately, but came over with a document.
"These are the three plots of land I selected in the suburbs of New York. They are 8 acres, 12 acres, and 16 acres. This is where they are located."
"You decide where to choose as the base for construction."
Smith Doyle flipped through the documents Fox handed him. The three positions were larger and farther away than the last. However, thinking of his own needs and the growing Assassin's League, he spoke:
“As for this 16-acre plot of land, we will start construction as soon as possible after acquiring it.”
Smith Doyle thought about the Avengers' base in Avengers 4, which was on the west coast. His own base was a full 8 acres and would be twice as large as the base.
As for the future Chitauri army wreaking havoc in New York, Smith Doyle is not worried at all.
Fox nodded and said:
"These places have already been contacted, and the contract can be signed directly after confirmation."
"But with an area of 16 acres and our plans for the base, if everything goes well, it might take five to eight years to complete..."
Hearing the time of five to eight years, Smith Doyle frowned. This time was too long, enough for Dragon Ball to make five to eight wishes.
“No, construction is too slow.”
"Contact the infrastructure companies in the East, as well as the top ten construction companies in the United States. They'll pay you enough, but I only have one requirement: 24-hour uninterrupted construction."
"We need to maintain good relations with the government and ensure that noise pollution, air pollution, and other things do not disrupt the construction progress. I hope to see the base completed in a year."
Hearing Smith's request, Fox didn't understand why the deadline was so tight, but he still said:
"If this is done, the construction cost may increase by more than ten times."
Smith waved his hand and said:
"The key projects have been handed over to the infrastructure team in the East. Their construction speed is beyond your imagination."
"If I didn't want to argue about this, it would be much faster to just give them all the work."
"In short, the project will be primarily led by the Oriental Construction Company, supplemented by local companies. I want the construction there to continue 24 hours a day to speed up the progress."
Fox nodded:
"I understand. I'll arrange to contact them right away."
Thinking about the increased expenditure, Smith asked:
"Is there enough money?" Fox reported:
"It's enough. The High Table, the Hand, and the Kingpin's legacy we received are enough for us to build a base, even within a year."
Hearing that there was enough money, Smith Doyle felt relieved. It would be a joke if he went bankrupt by building a base.
Melina and Alexi listened to the conversation between the two, which reminded them of the days when the Soviet Union was engaged in large-scale construction.
After Fox finalized the location of the base, he left the meeting room with Melina and Alexi. There are many procedures to join the Assassin's League, and understanding the concept is the most important one.
Watching the two leave, Natasha smiled and asked:
"Boss, what do you need me to do?"
Hearing Natasha change even her address, knowing that she was changing quickly, he asked:
"Natasha, do you know the ideals that the Assassin's League believes in?"
Natasha recalled the information about the Assassin's League that she had seen at S.H.I.E.L.D. and said:
"All things are false, all things are permitted, walk in darkness, serve the light"
Smith Doyle nodded and said:
"The foundation of social civilization is fragile. We must become the guardians of our own civilization. We are the designers of our own actions, and we bear the consequences of our actions, whether they are glorious or tragic."
"When people's hearts blindly follow the so-called truth, remember that there is no absolute truth in the world. When people's behavior is constrained by morality or law, remember that any constraint can be broken. We work in the darkness to serve the light. We are assassins. Everything is false, and everything is permitted."
At this time, a ball of air appeared in Smith's hand, emitting light that was somewhat similar to a gas bomb.
"Under the truth, all beings are equal."
Natasha nodded, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the Assassin's League's philosophy.
Smith Doyle dispersed the energy in his hand and continued:
"I once told you that justice must be achieved with our own hands, even if it means spilling blood."
Natasha nodded. This was the second time she had heard this.
At this time Smith Doyle asked:
"Natasha, what do you think of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Hearing Smith Doyle's question, Natasha's brain was thinking rapidly, thinking about the meaning of Smith's question, and at the same time said:
"Like all spy organizations, they act despicably and will do anything to achieve their goals. They cannot be trusted."
"Of course, there are some employees who uphold justice, but they are still coerced by the organization and do things that seem right but may actually be wrong."
"I'm ready to quit S.H.I.E.L.D., but with my identity, I can only fake my own death to escape."
This action made Natasha no longer trust S.H.I.E.L.D. In her eyes, the Red Room and S.H.I.E.L.D. are just the same kind of organizations. Not all of them may be bad people, but there are definitely not many good people in them.
After hearing Natasha's words, Smith knew that she no longer trusted S.H.I.E.L.D. and even had the idea of quitting, after all, she had already joined the League of Assassins.
"I don't trust them, especially your director Nick Fury."
"He could become a new threat to the world. I need you to stay with S.H.I.E.L.D. and keep an eye on them for me."
Natasha was a little surprised that Smith Doyle even knew the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the two of them should have never met. Thinking of the information passed by Coulson, the League of Assassins knew S.H.I.E.L.D. very well, and there must be many people like herself lurking in it.
Natasha asked solemnly:
"Is there a problem with S.H.I.E.L.D."
