Chapter 113 Expulsion

Mu Xiang and Zheng Zha agreed to meet in ten minutes and then headed straight to the room.

Not only was Mu Xiang quick to act, launching himself into the air and gliding across, but Zheng Zha also ran back to his room as if granted a pardon.

[Is he going to spend these ten minutes just being all lovey-dovey?]

The strange idea flashed through Mu Xiang's mind, and he went straight to the study, pulled out a sheet of loose-leaf paper, and began to do calculations on it.

Although he has not yet discovered and mastered all of his abilities, Mu Xiang can sense the existence of a certain innate ability.

For example, Mu Xiang didn't even consider the Kryptonians' super brains to be a talent... it was something Kryptonians were born with. Now, after his body was enhanced and modified, he also had a brain like a Kryptonian's. Compared to before, his thinking speed was many times faster.

This increase in thinking speed is so great that it can no longer be reflected in the six-dimensional data.

Mu Xiang felt that his brain was still in the adaptation phase, so returning to the world of Ju-on was also giving himself more time.

He had a vague intuition that the changes in his brain were already within the scope of brain development.

If the third-order gene lock is about deep development based on the existing brain, then Mu Xiang's current state is about subtly developing a brain with an even stronger foundation!
This is also a major benefit of Mu Xiang exchanging for Kryptonian bloodline... There's an old saying that exchanging for A Certain Magical Index "superpower development" promotes brain development, but Mu Xiang doesn't know if it's true. But he's already enjoying the benefits himself.

A higher realm was already beckoning to him.

With Mu Xiang's current thinking speed, solving a geography problem was a matter of seconds. He glanced at it and then tucked the paper into his book.

"Using pen and paper now... can only be described as a hobby." Mu Xiang chuckled to himself, then turned on his computer to read "The Terrifying Black Hole".

The computer already had a high-speed playback plugin, so Mu Xiang finished watching the movie in just a few minutes. With his enhanced memory, he could at least recall all the details when needed, if not the entire movie.

He had originally planned to spend a few reward points to redeem a video player to continue watching in the Ju-on world, but now it seemed unnecessary.

Mu Xiang hadn't expected to become so strong in just three matches... and after spending 20,000 reward points in the Ju-on world, he would become even stronger. So, he often felt out of place, which was unavoidable.

Then Mu Xiang floated to the square and contacted the main god.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the world of Ju-on we return to should just be an ordinary, magic-free dimension. Therefore, we can't expect to uncover any side quests...

The only source of income is the supposedly impending arrival of reinforcements during the polar day.

No matter how you look at it now, it's impossible to accumulate S-rank side quests, so it's better to find another exchange that matches your current strengths and make the most of it.

Many of the items Mu Xiang uses are more like add-ons; the stronger Mu Xiang becomes, the better the add-ons perform. For example, his current intermediate-level Ripple Qi Gong, combined with his current physical strength, is on a completely different level from the Ripple in the original manga... Mu Xiang is looking for add-ons that suit him.

"At this level, the ripples are no longer enough." Mu Xiang sighed with his eyes closed below the main god. "Even if I strengthen them to B-grade advanced ripples, it won't bring about a qualitative change for me."

Fortunately, the sunk cost of Ripple Qi Gong wasn't high; it was essentially just a D-rank and a C-rank skill. It helped Mu Xiang a lot in the early stages, so Mu Xiang had no reason to discard it now.

The fundamental problem is that Mu Xiang didn't expect that only a month had passed, and as a mortal, he would have to consider legendary-level combat configurations... And a month ago, there wouldn't have been enough resources for him to exchange for any useful plugins up to the fourth tier.

“Now we need to consider something above B level…” Mu Xiang said.

After searching for a long time, he realized that Zheng Zha was late... But for well-known reasons, he couldn't run over and knock on Zheng Zha's door. He could only search through his exchange records while waiting for Zheng Zha to come over.

Zheng Zha was more than ten minutes late, and when he ran over, he had a big smile on his face.

"I don't know whether to say you're too fast or too slow," Mu Xiang glared at Zheng Zha. "Immediately, right now!"

"Relax, relax, it'll all be back in an instant anyway..." Zheng Zha chuckled, then reached for the exchange. Mu Xiang hesitated for a moment, then called out to him, "Wait!"

"What's wrong?" Zheng Zha was taken aback and turned to look at him.

Mu Xiang pushed up his glasses, made an "uh-uh" sound, and then said, "Do you remember how you and Lori got back? It's best to hold hands, that way you can make sure you get back together."

“Oh, sure.” Zheng Zha extended his hand without hesitation.

"You've already washed, right?" Mu Xiang sighed, hesitated for a moment, then took Zheng Zha's hand, wiped it on his sleeve, and finally held Zheng Zha's hand properly.

Ignoring Zheng Zha's protest, the two of them exchanged thirty days to return to the world of Ju-on.

Location: near Tokyo... the former battlefield!
"You don't have OCD, do you... damn it!" Zheng Zha was complaining when he was so shocked by his surroundings that he forgot to let go.

Mu Xiang shook off his hand. "It's not that you're a germaphobe, it's your own problem... Don't do it again next time."

Then he looked around and said, "We've run into them! The God must need us to do something."

The city, which had been almost deserted due to the team battle, was now completely destroyed, with even the buildings gone. Centered on the House of Grudges, or rather the laboratory, a huge crater had appeared in the ground, covering almost 70% of the city.

Outside the deep pit were countless corpses and wrecked vehicles, all left behind by the Self-Defense Forces.

There was a very obvious green barrier between the inside and outside, clearly the magical barrier of the Polar Day Society. Just by looking at this, you could tell that the Polar Day Society's reinforcements were much stronger than the counselor they had back then.

[There might be a Tier 4 leader...]

Mu Xiang took a look at their position; they were exactly a hundred meters outside the barrier. If they walked further back and crossed the blockade, they could reach other cities on the outskirts of Beijing.

"So arrogant..." Mu Xiang sneered, pushed up his glasses, and took out a mobile phone-like device.

Zheng Zha curiously leaned closer: "What is this?"

"Chu Xuan gave me this phone, and he upgraded its web scraping function. In worlds below the near future, it can basically obtain information without any obstacles," Mu Xiang said. He then found the overt and covert reports on the invading forces in this world.

“A month ago, unidentified individuals were spotted at the reconstruction site… A week ago, even more unidentified individuals suddenly appeared and massacred all the construction workers. Since then, the conflict has escalated, and so far, three divisions have been wiped out.” Mu Xiang explained to Zheng Zha, “It must have been the first time that they were still short-handed, and then they called for more support.”

Zheng Zha nodded, then looked at the barrier: "This should be more powerful than that advisor you mentioned, right..."

“Yes, I estimate that the newcomer has the strength of the fourth rank.” Mu Xiang pushed up his glasses. “Moreover, this barrier only appeared a week ago, so it is highly likely that it only appeared after that fourth-rank high-level person arrived.”

Zheng Zha pondered for a moment: "You said that the advisor was a third-tier mage whose strength was suppressed?"

Mu Xiang nodded in affirmation: "This one is probably already at the fourth level, having adapted to the plane."

"But... I can fight."

As the two broke through the barrier, the cold, authoritative voice of the main god rang in their ears:

"Expel the dimensional invaders, and all team members in this dimension will receive one B-level side quest and 6000 reward points... If the mission fails, 10000 reward points will be deducted from all members."

Encountering invaders outside the main storyline seems unprecedented... so I assigned this task to the two characters currently in the game, following the fluctuating rules of invader raids in Dawn of Trials. Considering the overall difficulty of the task and the dilution of rewards for all players, this reward is about right for defeating a level 4 Transcendent (far inferior to a level 4 Locked).
