Infinite Terror: Infinite Reversal

Chapter 140 Behind the Door

Chapter 140 Behind the Door
Mu Xiang had no idea what kind of monster Sutter Kane had become. But one thing was certain: in this final battle, Sutter Kane was not even worthy of being on the table.

From a theoretical perspective, Mu Xiang might say that the creation of the Cthulhu Mythos is a form of anti-anthropocentrism and cosmic terrorism; but in short, Mu Xiang would say that the most fundamental aspect is the fear of the unknown.

This fear of the unknown is also linked to the fear of unacceptable truths and the collapse of one's cognition...

So the question is, does this fear affect all beings equally?
Obviously not.

For humans in the Cthulhu Mythos, discovering that they have the tainted blood of a non-human race, or seeing some kind of ancient, eternal life, is indescribable enough; but reflected in the infinite multiverse, for beings with extraordinary powers to feel indescribable, perhaps only a hidden existence could do so.

To take it a step further, to make even powerful beings at the Saint level or above feel an indescribable terror, it would perhaps have to be the ultimate or even transcendent manifestation of terror.

Of course, the existence of a certain man who shouts "one punch, two pancakes" before even achieving the ultimate goal, and the existence of certain illogical and comical beings... is also an indescribable phenomenon.

Therefore, whether something is indescribable or not depends on one's own strength and level of attainment.

Mu Xiang closely links the infinite diversity of information with sheer volume; in fact, the two elements are inextricably linked in the novel. The so-called indescribable pollution is ultimately the overload of information pollution brought about by a massive volume. Although much of the information released by these entities inherently possesses polluting qualities, it still needs to adhere to the logic of volume.

Therefore, Mu Xiang is not afraid of the pollution in "The Trembling Black Hole". Whether it is Sutter Kane rewriting reality or the pollution effect of those so-called Great Old Ones, in Mu Xiang's view, they are too inefficient and too logical.

Indeed, for Mu Xiang, who possesses a third-order gene lock and an A-grade bloodline, the true extent to which the so-called Old Ones of this world compare to him can only be determined after a battle.

Therefore, the level of erosion was only for Sat Kane's benefit and had no real impact on Mu Xiang. Although the final manuscript was indeed quite explosive and caused Mu Xiang to temporarily lose control... this cognitive erosion was suppressed after entering the third-tier gene lock.

Mu Xiang was confident he could help the Central Continent team secure the reward of all members achieving B-level, but there was one question he also had to consider… what was the connection between the Old Ones and the Dream Realm? How many Old Ones would he need to fight? And how much value could these Old Ones bring to the Central Continent team?
In a single exchange, Sat Kane's frontal body was shredded to pieces by the sword energy. With a roar of pain, his distorted back suddenly flipped over, and a grotesque face and a pair of twisted arms lunged at Mu Xiang from the side.

This move made Sutter Kane feel like a book suddenly opened, with a stench hitting him, prompting Mu Xiang to raise his hand and unleash a sword aura.

Before the sword energy could destroy his twisted hindquarters, Sat Kane's body was suddenly torn apart, and the twisted half of his body lurched backward. Then, the flattened body fell to the ground, and under Mu Xiang's gaze, several more legs grew out, crawling towards the wooden door at the other end of the room.

All that remained in Mu Xiang's hands was the front half of the body, which had been smashed to pieces. With the twisted body being torn apart, this body was like half a sack held in Mu Xiang's hands, and no trace of Sat Kane's characteristics could be seen anymore.

Mu Xiang unleashed his sword energy, completely obliterating the half-body, then coldly glanced at the hindquarters that were crawling away like an animal.

Sart Kane's body was almost completely empty, whether from some sacrifice or as a price for altering reality, it was unclear. He could no longer be called an agent; he was merely a shell with both human and monster aspects, more like a puppet of those Great Old Ones.

He became a puppet of the Great Old Ones, who granted him the power to alter reality.

Mu Xiang didn't stop the monster's actions; he reached for the manuscript on the table. As if sensing a threat, several vicious dogs appeared out of nowhere, barking and charging towards Mu Xiang.

These were the vicious dogs that hunted down the townspeople in the movie. Now, they were running wildly, their bodies swelling in the wind, and in the blink of an eye, they transformed into several enormous monsters. Not to mention the various growths and tentacles that had sprouted on their bodies, their huge mouths alone could swallow Mu Xiang whole.

The more anxious the enemy is, the more it proves that I'm doing the right thing. This is Mu Xiang's principle, so he was completely unaware of it and reached out to grab the manuscript.

A strange feeling stirred Mu Xiang's heart. It wasn't a premonition of danger, but rather the arrival of a crucial flash of inspiration.

But he didn't hear any prompt from the main god, so he didn't hesitate any longer and directly unleashed the Limitless Sword Qi, turning the manuscript into dust.

The manuscript was more sturdy than Mu Xiang had expected, but it was still no match for Mu Xiang's Limitless Sword Qi. The dust suddenly transformed into red, black, and white, and flew off in different directions.

Both the black and white lights left streaks of light, flying in completely different directions, but Mu Xiang knew that both directions were "up." The red light spot exploded again in the air and then merged into the air of the blood-red room.

The half-body clinging desperately to the wooden door suddenly let out a terrified howl, and its blood-red body emitted a burst of red light. But this wasn't its own doing; rather, it seemed to be the work of something behind the wooden door. This red light, like a vortex on the wooden door, frantically absorbed the red light points that had just entered the room.

At that moment, the giant mouths arrived, but Mu Xiang ignored them. Twisted light and shadow erupted from his body, and boundless sword energy shredded the giant mouths and their twisted bodies into nothingness.

Then Mu Xiang arrived at the wooden door. He knew that the monster had just been about to sacrifice itself to release these Old Ones; but now, the being behind the door had obviously been fully awakened, and keeping this thing, which was not even sure if it belonged to Sat Kane, was no longer of any use.

Amidst the red light, some jumbled characters faintly appeared. Mu Xiang glanced at them and knew it was the title of "The Trembling Black Hole," but at that moment, Sart Kane's signature was being erased by the force behind the door.

[But that's not all...]

Without hesitation, Mu Xiang unleashed his strongest attack. The sword energy he had been holding in his palm spewed out an extremely sharp aura, even shredding the blood-red light that filled the room into dust in his hand.

"Sword Qi Thunder Sound!"

With a flick of the sword, the half-body that was almost fused with the wooden door snapped along with the central planks. The chaotic characters were also completely annihilated by the renewed burst of boundless sword energy, revealing the darkness behind the door that even Mu Xiang couldn't see through.

The solemn voice of the supreme deity resounded in the ears of Mu Xiang, as well as Zhan Lan and the other two individuals from two vastly different time-space dimensions, Zheng Zha, and the others. Regardless of their circumstances or what they were facing, they all received this message.

"Destroying the manuscript of 'The Terrifying Black Hole' will reward all team members with 6000 reward points and one B-level side quest..."

[So that part was also a manuscript... If it hadn't been dealt with, I wonder if it would have made this task impossible to complete.]

As if they had also heard the sound, a commotion arose from the dark void behind the door, causing Mu Xiang to frown.

The room, or rather the entire church, collapsed along with the broken wooden door, leaving behind another void. Mu Xiang pushed up his glasses, kicked off the ground, and, accompanied by the mournful sound of the wind, shot straight into the dark void behind the wooden door.
