The three stages of the internal reaction of the thermobaric bomb took only about a thousandth of a second, and immediately a deafening roar came from beneath his feet. With a cold laugh, Mu Xiang reached out and grabbed the tongue that was hanging down from above his head!
A strange cry came from above, and the long tongue immediately tensed up, while another force came directly from above.

Lickers like to ambush prey from above, dragging them away with their tongues... but at this moment, it has clearly mistaken its own identity.

"Still not giving up? If you don't pounce now, your tongue'll be severed." Mu Xiang muttered to himself, then took a step to the side, and a huge, ferocious body crashed down at his feet, seemingly having missed its target. Then, several more shots hit the Licker's ugly body. More than ten M309 caseless rounds entered its body under the pulse, and then exploded violently before exiting, creating scattered cavities.

This gun is a futuristic weapon from the year 2171 in the Alien universe. Its armor-piercing and implosion mechanism is extremely lethal to Aliens…and even more so to Lickers. In the original work, characters like Chu Xuan have argued that “the Creepers in Resident Evil 1 are actually no weaker than the Aliens,” but Mu Xiang believes this is unfounded. In fact, both their experience during the evacuation and Mu Xiang's current feel for the gun tell him that the Lickers are much weaker than the original work suggests…at least, if he were fighting an Alien, he certainly wouldn't be able to do it so easily.

The licker let out that injured hiss again and struggled free. Although Mu Xiang's kick was powerful, it was impossible for him to break its leg in such a hasty situation.

[There's a downside to firing four rounds in a row; it used twenty bullets in one go, but none of them hit any vital organs!]

We can't let it get away... Once it escapes, it'll be hard to catch!

Although Mu Xiang hasn't unlocked his gene lock yet and can't fully utilize his B-level enhancement, with the help of his equipment, he's more than capable of dealing with the Licker... If it gets away, then Mu Xiang might as well give up.

The Licker turned around the instant it hit the wall, using the momentum to pounce on Mu Xiang in mid-air.

Mu Xiang was faster than he expected. Anticipating the attack, he took a step to the side to dodge it. Then, his already prepared finger pulled the trigger, and he opened fire wildly as the Licker paused due to the impact upon landing.

Although it didn't get a direct headshot as he'd hoped, Mu Xiang did manage to hit the Licker in the back of the neck with his first shot. As the gun moved upwards, the Licker's brain exploded, and it struggled pointlessly for a couple of moments before going still. It has to be said, when fighting the Licker, he was truly focused on his own thoughts.

[They still didn't give me any reward points...]

However, Mu Xiang didn't intend to stop; he continued firing. He only stopped when the magazine was empty and the skinned frog-like monster was headless. His main purpose was to create enough noise to attract the other two.

It's a bit of a shame that after this guy was pulled down, he immediately lost the courage to fight in close combat... Mu Xiang wanted to test how far his suppressive power could go in close combat.

Subconsciously pushing up his glasses and pressing them against his helmet, Mu Xiang chuckled for a moment before walking towards the gate.
