Chapter 460 Vision
"The three of you, the ascension ceremony is ready, and we are only waiting for you to be ready," the gray-robed elder stroked his beard and said with a smile.

Without saying much, Mu Xiang and the other two nodded and walked towards the altar. This altar was newly built, with a dreamlike light floating above it, radiating a friendly aura towards the three. Judging from the slight pulsation, the spirit of this plane seemed somewhat pleased.

"Supreme Spirit of the Dreamlands... The lingering sins of the Ancient Gods have not yet been washed away, and the tentacles of the Outer Gods have already arrived; the tides of the Great Abyss bring news of strangers, and the bravery of these strangers illuminates the future of the Dreamlands. In the name of the Ancient Gods, I pray that you bestow upon them a rank commensurate with their deeds, and create a path to godhood for these noble visitors!"

Nordens stood on the other side of the altar, holding an ancient staff in his hand. The staff wasn't ornate; rather, it appeared rough, as if it had been hastily whittled from a damp twig. Yet, a faint, ethereal light emanated from it, indicating its extraordinary nature. At the top of the staff, three short branches were slowly blossoming, seemingly corresponding to three soon-to-be-born deities.

"God of the Sun, Moon and Light... You shall command the sun and moon to illuminate the three realms. Lost souls will no longer wander aimlessly, and those mired in darkness will be freed."

"God of Fire...you shall bestow fire and dispel the chill. You shall illuminate the life of all things and sweep away sin and filth."

"God of Souls...you shall stand firm over life and death, guide the cycle of reincarnation, enlighten the wisdom of the living, and protect the souls of the dead on their journey home."

Mu Xiang couldn't hear these words, but in his eyes, these messages naturally surfaced. He saw Zhang Jie struggling between divinity and godhood, ultimately vanishing into nothingness; he saw Zheng Zha's flames transform into a corpse, the flames of vastly different natures clashing with each other, exhausting his energy.

He saw himself being pulled into the sky by the power of the plane, and the sun, which was created from the origin, suddenly tore him apart, swallowing his body and using it as burning fuel; while another part was extracted and merged with the moon, allowing the moon to truly have a glimmer of light.

Mu Xiang's consciousness vanished at that moment. When he looked at the world again, he saw Nordens's staff before him. Three flowering branches twisted into sharp blades, and the trident swept across, its fourth-tier advanced power severely injuring Zheng Zha and Zhang Jie. When Mu Xiang activated the Candle-Holding Technique, he engaged in a frenzied battle with Nordens.

In countless life-or-death battles, Mu Xiang saw that his chance of winning was 70%... but the chance of winning without suffering a pyrrhic victory was only 20%. Burning the power he gained, while not fearing Nordens's fourth-tier advanced power obtained through the power of another plane, still made it difficult to win easily.

If he cannot maintain a good state, Mu Xiang will be forcibly pulled to another space, just like Zheng Zha and Zhang Jie... and in retrospect, it will only be a matter of whether he dies under the power of the fourth or fifth rank, and whether he dies sooner or later.

[Interesting, it can even bring out the light within me? It seems only the most intense crises can keep us moving forward.]

As Mu Xiang was thinking this, he heard Nordens' voice.

Nordens was connecting with the Plane Spirit, and three distinct rays of light emanated from it. These were their divinity and godhood; Nordens hadn't lied to them, these were newly formed for them by the Plane Spirit.

"How's it going?" Zhang Jie's voice echoed in Mu Xiang's mind. As per their previous agreement, Zhang Jie and Zheng Zha had to wake Mu Xiang up at regular intervals to prevent him from losing his sense of time within his spatiotemporal vision.

Mu Xiang then created several more images from his consciousness monitoring of the countless scenes within his spatial vision, and asked in return, "How long has it been?"

"In ten seconds, Nordens is gathering divinity and godhood."

Mu Xiang smiled to himself: "He can get so much information in ten seconds... He's doomed."

"Are there any things I should be aware of?"

“Just as we thought, we shouldn’t directly contact divinity and godhood. The divinity and godhood themselves aren’t the problem, but the plane spirits are. When we merge with divinity and godhood, we are inherently vulnerable… Normally, the plane protects us, but what the plane spirits do to us… heh.” Mu Xiang responded. Zhang Jie thought for a moment: “Then, according to your conjecture, what about isolating them with telekinesis? After all, the attributes of divinity and godhood are related to mental power and the mind; can I suppress them?”

"Yes, throughout countless historical periods, only by fulfilling this fundamental premise can one obtain divinity and godhood without being directly taken away," Mu Xiang replied.

Zheng Zha asked curiously, "Will we fail? If it's going to delay your viewing, then you don't need to answer."

"It won't delay... The answer is of course it will. After all, time itself has no consciousness; it can't consider as many things as we do. So in most of the timelines, we're like idiots, ignoring one thing or another that leads to total annihilation." Mu Xiang smiled to himself.

At this point, Mu Xiang reminded me again: "Do you remember? I said that the hint the main god gave me was that the spatial vision would only be effective in the Abyss Plane at this time... But after I took it in advance, I could still see what was happening here, which explains a lot of things."

“That’s right, the Dreamland and the Abyss are one… We’ve always been in the Abyss!”

Zheng Zha and Zhang Jie were either silent or sighing in their hearts, but their faces remained calm as they waited for Nordens to complete the ceremony.

“But there’s something strange, which is that my spacetime vision can’t see what’s happening in the abyss… I wonder if it’s being blocked by a fifth-order being? Of course, it could be for some other reason. In any case, in these countless time branches, when we break through the Great Abyss and fall into it, I can’t see it anymore,” Mu Xiang said.

Zheng Zha hesitated for a moment: "So we should try our best to avoid this?"

“Impossible. Our mission is to end the Dreamland War. Whether or not we turn against Nordens, we have to do something in the Abyss… and most likely kill Nyarlathotep’s true form.” Mu Xiang denied. “On the contrary, we must enter the Abyss as soon as possible and save most of our spacetime vision for there.”

"After all... a ten-minute spatiotemporal vision doesn't mean you can only see things for ten minutes."

As the three conversed, Nordens let out a long sigh. Three smaller orbs of light detached from the dimensional spirit, emitting a soft glow in their direction. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that each orb was actually composed of two smaller orbs of light joined together.

Divinity and divine nature... these abstract concepts were now manifested before the three of them.

Nordens smiled and said, "The three of you, please come forward... let's try to see if we can merge."

Mu Xiang nodded, and the next moment, a violent surge of telekinetic energy erupted, enveloping the three beams of light with Zhang Jie's formidable mental power. Under the layers of mental and telekinetic energy blocking their path, divinity and godhood were utterly ineffective. As if this nod were a signal, Zheng Zha opened his mouth and spewed out a blazing flame, directly striking Nordens in front of him.

A sea-blue shield appeared, and Nordens snorted coldly. Gone was his previous majesty and amiability; he seemed prepared all along. He raised his wooden staff, the three sprouting branches transforming into the blade of a trident. Just as he was about to unleash his power, sword energy and thunderous sound arrived, momentarily halting the trident's attack, as if they had anticipated his move.

Then the moon rose into the sky, and a brilliant blade of light crashed down on Nordens!
