Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing

Chapter 34 Harry's Christmas Gift

Chapter 34 Harry's Christmas Gift

Christmas is coming.

One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts School woke up from its dream and found that the surroundings were covered with several feet of snow and the lake was covered with hard ice.

Damon was eating breakfast and reading the newspaper, feeling relaxed.

Ron, Harry, Neville, Seamus, and Hermione formed a semi-enclosed structure, with him positioned in the center, chattering away.

"Ron, did you know that your two twin brothers were punished yesterday? They actually bewitched some snowballs and made them chase Professor Quirrell around and hit the back of his turban."

"What on earth are these two idiots thinking?"

Ron shook his head, feeling sorry for his two brothers who loved to play pranks. He seemed to be imitating Damon lately, always speaking in a pretentiously mature tone.

Hermione flipped through "Great Wizards of the 20th Century", trying to find information about Nicolas Flamel, but unfortunately she still found nothing.

"Damon," Harry said, "you're not going home for Christmas, are you?"

"Yes, I plan to stay in school and practice my charms."

Damon picked up a piece of grilled sausage and put it in his mouth, and suddenly felt a little sick of it - he had been eating Western breakfast for more than three months, and occasionally he wanted to change the taste. For example, now, he wanted to eat beef noodles.

It just so happened that Christmas was coming soon, and he planned to prepare a gift for all the house-elves and build a good relationship with them. He thought that by then, they would have beef noodles to eat.

Although Damon doesn't do this, the elves should still do it as long as he makes a request, but he prefers the way of reciprocity.

Harry ate his breakfast while glancing at Damon out of the corner of his eye, feeling a little hesitant - he wanted to practice spells with Damon during the Christmas holidays, but Ron and his two brothers would also be staying over the holiday, and they had already agreed to take him out to have some fun.

Should I take advantage of this holiday to experience what it's like to learn spells with Damon and see if I can stick to it, or should I choose to go out and have fun?

"Harry, why do you look so listless?" Ron hugged him. "I can't wait. When the time comes, you and I will team up and we will definitely beat the crap out of Fred and George."

"Okay—okay."

Harry's smile was forced.

Damon noticed this and said nothing.

Harry's talent is undoubtedly very strong, but it must be said that he wasted too much time in those years at Hogwarts, so that until the very end he was like a chess piece, pushed by Dumbledore towards his predetermined fate.

However, this poor boy's life has been hard enough. If he didn't have this carefree school life, how would he find comfort in the hardships that followed?

Damon could more or less understand Dumbledore's feelings.

However, since he was around, many unhappy things would no longer happen - so it didn't matter whether Harry cheered up or not.

"Don't just play around!" Hermione glared at Ron. "While I'm away, you still have to keep looking for information about that person. If you find anything, send an owl to tell me."

"Of course we do," muttered Ron.

Harry watched Hermione and Ron bickering, smiling slightly and feeling calm.

On Christmas Eve, inside the House of Wishes.

Daemon gasped, quietly watching the scene he had created - the training puppet that was cast with the Triple Armor Spell was pierced by something unknown, and a huge ring-shaped thorn wound appeared on its chest, as if it had been pierced twice by some sharp force.

"This move consumes a lot of magic power. My control is not enough. It's not so much relying on willpower and control to cast the spell, but rather the effect created by the strong accumulation of magic power."

Damon shook his head, somewhat dissatisfied with his performance.

The killing power of this self-created spell is sufficient, but it is far from reaching its limit. Moreover, the number can be increased later.
Tonight, Damon still did not return to the dormitory, but slept directly in the Room of Requirement.

His roommates were not surprised by this.

Although, they didn't understand why Damon was so desperate. The next morning, Harry was woken up by Ron's shouting.

"Damon actually received so many gifts!"

Harry rubbed his eyes sleepily and subconsciously looked at the foot of his bed - he thought he would not receive any gifts, but unexpectedly there was a small pile of packages there, one of which was a rectangular gift box wrapped in a red ribbon that looked frighteningly luxurious.

"Merry Christmas."

The two of them exchanged greetings and began to open their gifts.

Harry received a handmade flute from Hagrid, which sounded a bit like the cry of an owl.

Then came Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia, who gave Harry a mere fifty pence, and it was hard to tell whether it was more of a gift or a taunt.

But Ron was very interested in Muggle money, so Harry gave it to him directly.

To Harry's delight, Ron's mother actually got him a present: a thick, bright green, hand-knitted sweater and a large box of homemade fudge.

Hermione gave him a large box of chocolate frogs.

Finally, there are two gift packages left, one is a paper package and the other is a gorgeous acrylic box.

Harry decided to unwrap the paper-wrapped ones first, saving what looked like the best for last.

He opened the paper package, and something like a liquid, silver-gray substance slid to the floor, gathered into a pile, and sparkled. A note fell out of it - your father left this thing to me before he died, and now it should be returned to you. Use it well.

I sincerely wish you a merry Christmas.

"It's the invisibility cloak!" Ron gasped.

"I'd give anything for a thing like this," he said. "I'd give anything for—what's the matter with you?"

"nothing."

Harry felt that this matter was a little strange, but before he could think about it, the dormitory door was pushed open and Fred and George Weasley rushed in.

Harry quickly hid the Invisibility Cloak - he didn't want anyone to know yet.

"Merry Christmas!"

"Oh! Are you opening a present? My goodness, this ribbon looks so luxurious. Would you mind opening it right here and now?"

They looked at Harry's last package.

"of course."

Harry nodded and opened the rectangular gift box wrapped with a red ribbon.

Surprisingly, there was another layer of protection inside. When Harry tore open the cardboard packaging, a pleasant smell of perfume came to his nose and a note fell out.

[Merry Christmas, Harry, I hope you like the gift I gave you - Damon White]

"It's a gift from Damon!"

Harry didn't expect Damon to give him a gift. After all, he and Ron had never thought of giving each other gifts - Ron had no money, so they tacitly chose not to exchange gifts.

"Ahaha, what's the Duel Prince's taste in choosing gifts like? Open it quickly and let us see."

Harry nodded and opened the gift box with full anticipation.

Before he could say anything, the three Weasley brothers screamed!
"Merlin's beard! Is this real?!"
