Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing

Chapter 85 An exciting new semester

Chapter 85 An exciting new semester
Hogwarts, Headmaster's Office.

"Dumbledore, what do you want from me?"

"Please take a seat, Professor Snape."

"I have a potion brewing. If there's nothing important, please keep it short."

Snape had a stern face and was somewhat unhappy that his holiday plans had been interrupted.

"Well—it's like this, I accepted Damon as my disciple—"

Snape's face twitched involuntarily.

"That child is very interested in Occlumency, but I've been too busy lately to spare the extra energy to teach him, so—I hope to entrust this to you."

Now the corners of Snape's mouth began to twitch as well.

"What do you mean? You want me to teach him Occlumency?" He sneered, his smile forced. "They're right. This kid is a natural Slytherin. After getting in touch with you, the first thing he thought of was hiding his secrets. Dumbledore, you really should have pried into his mind before he mastered Occlumency.

Perhaps we will discover a new Dark Lord."

"Snape, I would never use Legilimency on a student, and I ask you not to do the same."

Dumbledore's tone was calm—he didn't believe Snape would do such a thing.

It's strange, where does Snape's prejudice against Damon come from? Why does it seem like he's a little dissatisfied?

Dumbledore thought for a moment and continued:
"If you find it inconvenient, then forget it. I'll find my own time—"

"I need to go to the bathroom!" Snape shouted almost eagerly.

Facing Dumbledore's surprised gaze, he immediately realized his own loss of composure, slowly sat back in his seat, and said lightly:

"It's a rare occasion that you ask me for something, so how could I possibly refuse?"

Snape maintained his indifference, but the corners of his mouth were slightly raised - just imagining that the culprit who had been against him for a whole semester and caused Slytherin to lose the house cup was about to fall into his hands, he couldn't help laughing.

What was previously disrupted by Longbottom will eventually return to normal.

"I hope you can be gentler. Damon is a very talented wizard, and I believe it won't be difficult for you to teach him.

Although he couldn't sense Snape's emotions, Dumbledore had a feeling that he was in a good mood. He couldn't help but give him some advice.

"Also, Damon has already learned the basics of Occlumency, and he's learned it very well. But because of this, he'll have to put in more effort to make further progress. Please, Snape."

"Has he learned it?"

Snape pursed his lips slightly, feeling a little unhappy.

This makes it less convenient to hold.

But it doesn’t matter. I’m a professor and he’s a student. How can I not deal with him?
This time, he will deduct all of Gryffindor's points at the beginning of the school year!
Thinking of this, Snape began to look forward to the start of school.

On the last day at the Weasley house, Mrs. Weasley prepared a sumptuous dinner.

After dinner, Fred and George put on a show using the Filibuster fireworks they had bought - magical fireworks that only needed to be wet to ignite, which was a perfect end to the last night before school started.

The kitchen was filled with red and blue stars, which bounced from the ceiling to the walls for at least half an hour. Afterwards, everyone had a cup of hot chocolate and said goodbye to each other and went back to their rooms.

In Ron's small room, Damon squeezed together with the two of them. Ron and Harry were serious at first, pretending to be going to sleep well.

But only two minutes later, Ron's voice was heard in the darkness:

"Damon, Harry, are you asleep?"

"No."

"Me neither, Ron."

"Oh - Harry, I really envy you. You actually studied magic with Damon for a month during the summer vacation. Now you have left me far behind."

Ever since Ron heard about this from Harry, he couldn't get it out of his mind - he felt it was very important.

Since he was able to catch up with Harry in 'Expelliarmus' for a few moments, it showed that he was actually talented - as long as he worked hard, he might be able to catch up in other aspects as well.

But now, he is more or less worried.

He had originally thought that he and Harry would be on the same starting line when school started, and they would make progress together. He even had some thoughts of surpassing Harry. But now he was already a month behind before school even started. How was he going to catch up?

"Don't worry, Ron, I can teach you when school starts.

Besides, there's Professor Lockhart! He's a great wizard who can easily deal with trolls and werewolves alone!
With him teaching us Defense Against the Dark Arts, what is there to worry about?
We will go to the Room of Requirement to practice after class every day. One day, the three of us will join hands to defeat Voldemort!"

Harry said this with full confidence and motivation.

This summer vacation was too dreamy for him, and he was willing to give everything for such a wonderful life - he would no longer be lazy and devote all his energy to the cause of fighting Voldemort!

"You're right, Harry, how could I have forgotten!" Ron was encouraged and excited. "This year there's Professor Lockhart! I know everything about him! My mother keeps telling me about him!"

When Ron thought about such a legendary wizard teaching them, he felt a surge of strength in his heart, and he wished he was already in Hogwarts right now!
"The three of us? You left Hermione behind, didn't you, you two rebellious sons!"

Damon listened to the conversation between the two, with a slight smile on his face.

Lockhart
I don't know what Dumbledore was thinking. He knew Lockhart was a idiot, but he still called him over. Did he simply want to teach the three little ones a lesson? Sometimes what you hear is so different from what you see with your own eyes.

Wouldn’t that be a bit too extravagant?
Or maybe he knew the wizard who had been oblivious to Lockhart, and wanted to expose Lockhart's true colors or punish him?
After all, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor position was cursed by Voldemort, and no professor could last more than a year.

If that's the case, Dumbledore is too sinister! He doesn't look like a Gryffindor at all!

He's a naturally evil Gryffindor! He's the one who should set things right!

"Damon, Damon."

Harry and Ron discussed the impending arrival of Professor Lockhart for a moment, and seeing that he remained silent, Harry asked:
"What do you think Professor Lockhart's strength is? Is it possible that he is more powerful than other professors?"

"Well, I don't know, but my first impression of him wasn't very good. He was too frivolous and didn't fit my image of a master."

Damon gave the two of them some hints, and as for what they thought, that was their business.

He still has a lot of things to do in the new semester that is about to begin - once he becomes an Auror, those Death Eaters will have no chance of having any good juice.
