Chapter 36 Qualification Recommendation Letter
Chapter 36 Qualification Recommendation Letter
Ron was a little surprised: "How do you know..."
"Haha... I've been in this market for quite a few years, and I'm very familiar with the school's procedures."
As she spoke, she took out a crystal bottle from a locked drawer and said, "I'll give this back to you first."
Ron took the crystal bottle and recognized that it was the bottle of artificial star dew that Holt had given him.
"Remember? I promised you that I would keep it for you temporarily and return it to you once you pass the apprenticeship assessment."
Mrs. Allen said, the sternness on her face melting a little, revealing a kind of relief that an elder feels towards a younger person: "Now that you have made a breakthrough, it should be back in your hands."
"I almost forgot about this agreement." Ron admitted honestly: "Thank you for keeping it, ma'am."
"And this." Mrs. Allen handed him a letter with a strange seal. "Take this letter of recommendation and show it to the duty officer when you apply for the initial resource allocation."
Ron took the letter in confusion. The seal on it looked extremely ancient. "This is..."
"As a junior apprentice, you are eligible to apply for a resource allocation from the academy," Mrs. Allen patiently explained. "Generally speaking, the quality and quantity of resources will be determined by your potential rating."
She paused, concern flashing in her eyes. "Given your initial qualifications and the time it took you to achieve your breakthrough, your rating probably won't be very high. This letter of recommendation should help you raise your clearance to the next level."
Ron felt warm in his heart. He had not expected such care at all: "Ma'am... I really don't know how to thank you."
"Don't be so sentimental, little brat."
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Allen immediately regained her usual sternness and waved her hand as if to drive away an annoying fly:
"I just think you're more pleasing to the eye than those overconfident guys, and I don't want to see you suffer in the school for nothing."
Ron put away the letter of recommendation and the Star Dew, feeling unsure of what to say. He was just about to summon up his emotions and say something heart-wrenchingly grateful...
"Alright, alright, get out of here now, don't delay me from closing the shop."
Mrs. Allen waved her hand. Although her tone was impatient, her green eyes shone with a gentle light:
"Don't forget to come to work on time tomorrow."
………………
The school's central hall is located in the outer area of the Black Mist Jungle. It is an ancient and magnificent building.
The towering spire is inlaid with dozens of luminous stones, which can emit a soft light even in the darkest night, illuminating the surrounding area.
Ron slowly approached the entrance to the hall, feeling a little nervous.
Although I have physically confirmed that I have reached the standard of a beginner apprentice in terms of mental strength, this is my first time experiencing formal qualification certification.
"It's best not to attract a large crowd like Locke..." He thought to himself, "It's not a pleasant feeling to be watched like a monkey."
He recalled the scene when Locke tested his mental power - almost half of the candidate apprentices in the dormitory area were attracted and gathered in the middle of the hall pointing and talking.
That scene would disgust him at any time, and in an environment like the Black Fog Jungle, being overly conspicuous meant potential danger.
Ron has always been a cautious person, especially after experiencing the conflict with Marcus, he understands the importance of keeping a low profile.
Fortunately, there were not many people in the central hall at this time, and most of the apprentices were busy with their own experiments or carrying out missions outside.
Ron relaxed a little and walked slowly towards the duty area in the corner. The duty area was a relatively independent space in the hall, where several apprentices in gray and white uniforms were handling various matters.
Ron observed carefully for a while and chose a female officer on duty who looked relatively free and had a kind face.
"Hello, I'm here to assess the qualifications of the junior apprentices." He maintained a polite but not overbearing attitude.
The officer on duty looked up at him. She looked to be in her thirties, with a pretty face but a little tired. The light blue badge on her chest indicated that she was a mid-level apprentice.
"Name?" Her tone was businesslike, but there was no impatience in it.
"Ron Ralph."
"Region?"
"The alternate apprentice dormitory area, east wing." Ron answered briefly, trying not to attract unnecessary attention.
The officer on duty nodded and flipped through a thick booklet at hand, his fingers sliding across it quickly. "Your name doesn't seem to be on the list of breakthroughs predicted by the school?"
"Yes, I broke through in the detention room." Ron answered truthfully.
The officer on duty paused with her pen. She looked up, a hint of surprise in her eyes. "Confinement room? There aren't any conditions there to support meditation."
"It's precisely this kind of environment that actually helps me a lot." Ron gave his vague explanation: "Being isolated from the outside world allows me to focus more on meditation."
The officer on duty looked at him for a few seconds, comparing the information in his hand, and his eyes gradually became interested:
"Ron Ralph... I found out that your mental aptitude test result was sixth-class star, right?"
Ron's heart tightened, but he remained calm: "Yes, ma'am."
"Sixth-magnitude star... I only arrived in the Black Mist Jungle more than nine months ago..."
The officer on duty said in disbelief, his eyes filled with surprise, "It's truly unusual for someone with this kind of mental ability to achieve a breakthrough within a limited timeframe."
She closed the booklet and stood up. "Come with me. We need to conduct a formal mental test."
Ron breathed a sigh of relief; at least he didn't have to take the test in public in the middle of the hall.
The officer on duty led him through the corridor to a small door marked with ancient runes.
Inside the door was an independent testing room. In the center of the room stood a crystal ball similar to the one in the hall but smaller, with complex runes engraved around it.
"Put your hand on the crystal ball and release your mental power." The officer on duty instructed in a calm tone, but the curiosity in his eyes could no longer be concealed.
Ron nodded and placed his right hand gently on the crystal ball.
He closed his eyes and mobilized his mental strength steadily and orderly according to the rhythm of the meditation method he was proficient in.
As spiritual power flowed in, the crystal ball began to emit a soft light.
Dark red mist surged inside the ball, gradually forming a clear and stable symbol.
Unlike the blurry and dim symbols when he first arrived, the symbols now were bright and solid, without any fluctuations on the surface.
The officer's pupils narrowed slightly, clearly surprised by the result. "The mental fluctuations are practically free of impurities, and their stability far surpasses that of an ordinary novice apprentice... How did you do it?"
