Chapter 59 Grammar and Periods
"I will come to visit you in the Abyss," said Luger.
"Boring."
The succubus scholar drew circles on the table with his fingers, as if all the good mood after successfully blackmailing the potion had been tarnished by Ruger.
Ruger was estimating in his mind how long it would take based on his current progress in mastering the fire bomb technique.
As for the apprentice's Fireball spell deduction notes, while they helped him, he also discovered an interesting phenomenon. He was obviously just referring to the notes to compare and verify with each other to speed up his mastery. What he really learned was still the basic version of the book, but those little things that constructed the spell generation model were like living things. They would cling to him as soon as he knew and observed them. His basic version of Fireball was subtly affected without him knowing it, but fortunately it was a benign influence.
"You can adapt to life in the Abyss and enjoy the wider world. Perhaps you can even meet more succubi," Ruger said. "Of course, they may not be as knowledgeable as you."
"Boring."
The succubus scholar seemed to be far less yearning for this hometown she had never seen than she had said before.
Seeing Ruge sitting there in a daze, he no longer paid any attention to her.
She actually stood up, walked away, and began speaking Abyssal, giving a lecture to the only student who wasn't attending. This was her first real lecture in the hundreds of years since she arrived at the castle. Being able to listen and write didn't equate to understanding Abyssal. She began to explain the grammar and taboos, as well as the unique culture of the nobles of that plane—things that had no practical use, but were important to pay attention to during communication, to avoid any discourtesy.
He listened in a disjointed manner, and cooperated by straightening his body and turning to face the succubus who was teaching.
Just as Ruger figured out a point, he listened to a passage and couldn't help but sigh. The disappearance of a world means not only the creatures running and jumping on it, but also the death of those cultures, or some other strange things.
After listening to some strange knowledge just to relieve his boredom, he immersed himself in learning magic again.
When he opened his eyes again, the succubus was still talking, as if she was addicted to it. She had already talked about how the sages of the plane world throughout the ages explored the origin of the Abyss language, and speculated that the Abyss language originated from the first strange sound when the abyss was twisted and collided at the beginning of its formation.
The class time was over, but the succubus scholar didn't stop until the old butler Izel knocked on the door and Ruger followed him out.
When the classroom door slowly closed behind him, leaving only a gap, Ruger could still hear the occasional sound of her footsteps and the sound of her talking in class.
He returned to his room, meditated to recover, and then continued to study spells.
He had tied the tooth around his wrist with a piece of cloth, keeping it close to his skin, to prevent the young master from suddenly appearing and disrupting the conversation.
When he left the classroom, he had already agreed with the succubus on the time to take action. Although she had been lecturing without stopping for a moment, he knew that she must have heard what he had said.
All he had to do now was to make sure he mastered the Fire Bomb Technique before the appointed time. Thinking of the young master who had skipped classes, he decided to try it with the old butler tomorrow to buy more time. He always couldn't concentrate when there were people around.
Dinner is still served in the room.
"Hey, is this how wizards practice?"
The handsome young man emerged from the teeth and fell aside.
"Speaking this way is not what a noble should do. Maybe you should take some Abyssal language lessons."
Ruger recalled what the succubus scholar had said about the nobles in some other worlds who were very particular about their wealth and elegance.
"Of course I understand those rules. I've always been very polite when speaking to people since I was a child, with perfect respect and nobility. I just want to show you, a guest from a foreign land, a more relaxed side of me." The handsome young man said with a smile. "Do you think I can get to the library smoothly?"
Ruger sat on the ground, thinking about the spell while taking some time to chat with him.
"I've already given the Abyssal Language teacher some help and guidance. Of course, she's never met me before," the young man said, seeming quite pleased. "So, she'll assist you and give you a little help."
The handsome young man talked about things he thought were interesting, and even imagined the scene of his own body being burned in front of the gate of the castle.
"In my hometown, there is a rule not to inquire about the names of foreign visitors, so I have never asked you. Please don't think that I am arrogant and rude." said the boy.
Ruger only wanted to break the old butler's suppression of his space gate, and didn't really pin his hopes of escaping to heaven on the plans of this young master or the succubus. He didn't need to go through the main gate. After all, the castle was also sealed before, and he could still successfully enter. So he just needed to deal with the old butler.
"Can you teach me some tips on skipping classes?" Ruger said.
"Simple!"
The young man is proficient in this art.
"If it's just a short one or two times, just take advantage of old Izel's concern for you. It will go smoothly every time, and he won't report it to my father."
The boy said and Luger nodded.
Looking at the dust in the room, watching the handsome young man walking around without leaving any trace, what the two were talking about seemed to be pushing everything here to destruction again, but both of them were in high spirits, talking and laughing.
Ruger closed his eyes and continued to deduce the spell, not even knowing when the handsome boy left.
Another night of sleepless nights.
When there was another knock on the door, there was no chance to use the prepared words.
"Young Master, your Abyssal Language teacher is feeling unwell today, and the classes may have to be suspended for a day." The old butler stopped the dining cart beside him and told the good student a painful news.
"I see."
Ruger nodded, and he was almost able to fully master the fire bullet technique.
Looking at the old butler's back as he left, he did not rush to close the door.
He looked around, feeling this real yet wonderful experience, and decided to do his best to put an end to it. If the young master's confident plan to burn the corpse failed, he would use the devil's dice to give it a try.
Half of the people over there probably thought he was dead. They might have wanted to beat their chests and stamp their feet, but their hands and feet were awkwardly unable to move, and they could only regret in their hearts that they had not given him more powerful treasures.
But now that he thought about it, from the initial magic skin disguise, the preparation of spell materials and the knowledge of the Abyssal Tongue, to the effective healing potions, and the flexible hiding space, the half-human had already made comprehensive plans to allow him to run an errand safely and get the job done. He could have found a way to deal with most difficult demons. But he had never expected to encounter a situation like this.
Before dinner time, the fire bomb technique was finally mastered.
He leaned against the wall for a nap, and when he woke up, he waited and waited, but the old butler's knock on the door never came. There should be no mistake in the time, and Luger was very confident in his stomach's timing.
