Chapter 90 Wizards and Targets

Luger stepped off the animal cart accompanied by the red-haired beauty Myrtle. He was relaxed, showing no sign of being awkward in a strange place. He looked around. The manor was large, but surprisingly simple. At first glance, all he could see was plain grass, devoid of any decorations.

"Mr. Ruge, I can only let Myrtle receive you on my behalf. I will come back as soon as possible after seeing my father." Lorigo said with a smile.

The handsome young man's face turned pale after the long journey, but he deliberately walked down and stood beside the animal cart, maintaining his manners and composure in every move.

"Master Lorigo, just take care of your own business first. I am very casual with my friends." Ruger turned around and said, withdrawing his gaze from the scenery.

The handsome young man smiled even more when he heard the word "friend".

Ruger watched him get on the animal cart and go away with the knights, then followed the red-haired woman who stayed behind and walked towards the manor.

The two of them walked quietly along the corridor of the manor. An unknown small tree on the roadside bent over and turned into the roof of the corridor, and red fruits could be seen on it. This was the first time that Ruger was alone with her.

"Ms. Myrtle, is there a secluded place in the manor? Preferably a detached house," said Ruge.

Servants and housekeepers were already approaching from a distance, but the red-haired woman waved her hand to send them away.

Ruger watched with a smile. He had seen some servants were surprised by his appearance, but he was very professional and controlled his expression to keep it to himself.

She thought for a moment and led Ruger to the back of the manor, where a two-story cottage stood. It was not gorgeous, but it had a unique style against the backdrop of the surrounding trees.

"Are you satisfied with this place? Servants come to clean it every day, so you can stay here without worry."

The red-haired woman introduced herself to him respectfully.

"Very good," said Ruger.

Hearing this, the woman walked to the front and led him into the house.

Ruger looked around, sizing up the height of the roof, trying to determine whether he could free Aisijin and Dashaheng from the abyssal bedroom space.

"Ms. Myrtle, are there any wizards in Starry City?" he asked casually while looking around the house.

"Yes, there is one by the Baron's side, but he rarely shows up. I've only seen him once," she thought for a moment and said, "There should be others in the city, but I don't think they are as powerful as you."

She said and looked at Ruger in awe.

"When I was young, I also took a wizard qualification test. Although I have a talent for mental power, it is only the weakest level. No academy or wizard organization would want someone with my qualifications." There was envy in her eyes that could not be concealed.

"So you became a Gem Summoner?" he said.

"That's my luck. Fortunately, these little guys like me and allow me to become a spellcaster," she said with a smile.

"I won't disturb you, my lord. I'll tell the servants that if you need anything, you can pull the rope by the door. There will be servants waiting for your orders at any time. Please rest assured. No one will disturb you."

The red-haired woman said this and bowed and left.

As the door slowly closed, Ruger was the only one left in the room filled with the fragrance of earth and trees.

He came to the most spacious room on the second floor, and with a light jump, he threw himself onto the soft big bed he had been waiting for for a long time. For a moment, he had an urge to live here forever. He believed that Lorigo would definitely welcome him to be a long-term guest here, and even after a few decades, when Lorigo grew old, Lorigo's descendants would definitely welcome him.

But as the world's first kobold wizard apprentice, he naturally could not be trapped in such a manor and a soft bed.

He turned over, felt the comfortable bed, closed his eyes and began his meditation practice today.

He didn't open his eyes until the night deepened.

He went to the first floor and gently pulled the string. Soon a maid in a black dress came in front of him.

"Sir, please give me your orders. I am your personal servant. My name is Daisy." The maid saluted and said.

"Is Master Lorigo back?" he said.

"Your Excellency, the young master has not returned yet." The maid Daisy said respectfully.

Luger nodded.

"Do you want dinner prepared?" asked the maid.

"Well, prepare food for five people and send it here. You can decide the specific dishes." Ruger said.

The tall maid Daisy looked puzzled and bewildered when she heard this.

"Just follow the standards of a knight who has worked hard in training for a day." Ruger thought for a moment and said.

"Okay, sir, please wait a moment."

Daisy, visibly relieved, turned and left.

Ruger walked out of the house, onto the grass, and looked up at the sky above the Cavern City. As night fell, the stars, the symbol of Star City and the origin of its name, began to appear on the dome. It was truly beautiful. Thinking carefully about the names of the several cavern cities he had heard along the way, they all related to the sky, revealing a yearning for the heavens. This even included the Knight, a long-standing transcendental path in each cavern city. The full name of the transcendent knight was Star Knight.

He quietly looked at the fake starry sky that was gradually becoming clearer, thinking about the path he would take in the future.

In addition to becoming a wizard, there is one more thing to do: get down to the real ground.

The reason why he didn't have this goal originally was because he never thought it was a difficult thing. When he was still a short dog-headed man worried about food, he thought that Aisijin and the others didn't know how to get to the ground and were just too stupid to get lost easily. He was also worried that he would be beaten if he accidentally ran to the ground. It was not until he came into contact with Kaliu and the others and saw this magnificent cave city that he had to admit that perhaps walking to the real ground was a very difficult thing.

Instead, he originally thought that it would be as simple as going up there to bask in the sun and coming back for lunch in the afternoon.

No matter how many goals you have, as long as you figure them out and identify your own path as a wizard, all you have to do is to be clear about them.

He suddenly discovered that becoming a powerful wizard seemed to be able to solve all his troubles, such as some of the things Lorigo faced. If this young master was a powerful wizard, perhaps all the problems would disappear.

He withdrew his gaze from the stars. The servants had already brought dinner as instructed.

"Put it here, and you can get out."

He returned to the house and went to the largest dining table.

As the servants retreated one by one, he waved his hand to open the space door, and two tall dog-headed men stepped out.

"Brother Luger." Ai Sijin thought a fight was about to start and looked around alertly.

Dashaheng hummed twice while holding the hammer.

"Relax and let's enjoy the food together," he said with a smile.

Before he spoke, the two dog-headed men had already been attracted by the food on the table. The maid Daisy did as he instructed and brought food that knights with big appetites loved to enjoy, mainly meat, and the portions were very large.

The two kobolds began to eat heartily, but Ruger had a poor appetite.
