Chapter 91 Night and Day

Aisijin also noticed that Ruger had a poor appetite, but in response to her and Dashaheng's concern, Ruger just smiled and shook his head.

During this time, he realized several things. While realizing the hugeness of the cave, all his experiences were also recalled in his mind. When he came to his senses, he found that it seemed as if everything was making him realize his own insignificance over and over again.

He stuffed food into his mouth.

Aisijin and Dashaheng, who were sitting opposite, also seemed to be very satisfied with the meal. The meal provided by the city's top nobles for their family knights was of high standard. Ruger ordered five servings, ate one himself, and gave the other four to Aisijin and Dashaheng.

At this time, even if Lorigo returned to the manor, he would not come to disturb him.

After he finished his meal, he asked Aisijin and Dashaheng to stay on the first floor so that they could look at the stars they had never seen by the window. He planned to go back to the bedroom on the second floor to start an exhausting meditation. Meditation was not satisfying at all, so he lay on the bed and summoned his companion magic pet who was sleeping soundly, and asked it to lie beside the bed to guard him.

He started by mastering the new runes, consuming his mental energy over and over again, turning it into fuel for constructing the runes.

No matter how insignificant, he would strive to achieve success. He planned to live comfortably here for the time being and strive to become a Level 4 wizard apprentice as soon as possible. As for finding time to engage with the supernatural world, he wasn't targeting the potentially complex and entangled supernatural world of Star City, shrouded in the strife of mortal forces. He wanted to enter the world of wizards. Such great wizards must have many territories of their own, and that would undoubtedly be even larger.

Of course, he wouldn't miss out on this moment of enjoyment; it was a rare opportunity, one he probably wouldn't see again. He had a premonition that when he truly entered the wizarding world, he might not have such leisurely times. Therefore, he didn't mind helping Master Lorrigo with some minor problems; it was just a meal payment, and he found the guy quite pleasing to his eyes.

After the exhausting meditation practice, he began to recover his mental strength, and then seeing that it was still early, he took a short nap.

When he opened his eyes again, it was already bright outside the window.

Walking slowly to the first floor, he saw two dog-headed men who had been on guard all night and were looking out the window with curiosity. The so-called day and night were things they had never seen before. When they were reading those adventure novels of wandering knights, they would always find opportunities to ask him some strange questions. Only then would he realize what they had no idea about and could not imagine at all.

"Come, let's go to the yard and see." Ruger walked out with a smile.

The two big guys squeezed against the window, clinging to it like children, which was really funny.

After the two dog-headed men came out, they stared at the dome without blinking. After a while, they looked around and into the distance. The world under the bright sky was completely different from before. The night and darkness were also different. In their previous world, there was only darkness and a pair of eyes that could barely see things in the dark.

Send the two dog-headed men back to the Abyss bedroom space to rest.

He called Daisy, the maid.

"Send Miss Myrtle here, and tell her I have something to ask," he said politely.

Upon hearing this, the maid Daisy bowed and left quickly.

Ruge was actually very curious about what kind of status this red-haired woman held in relation to Master Lorigo or in this manor.

"Good morning, Lord Luger."

The meticulous red-haired woman didn't keep him waiting for too long. "Is Lorigo not back yet?" he said.

"The young master sometimes stays in the castle," the red-haired woman said. "If you need anything, you can tell me."

"I want to get in touch with the extraordinary circle in Star City. I wonder if you can serve as a guide and let me broaden my horizons."

Luger said, looking at the red-haired woman expectantly.

"Of course. It would be my honor to guide you, sir. I know there's a gathering in three days. It's considered the highest-level gathering I've ever been to, and most of the people who come are spellcasters." She hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Actually, I've never been to a gathering of this level out of concern for my safety. After I quit being a treasure hunter, my adventurous spirit seems to have faded."

Myrtle looked at him sheepishly.

"However, after seeing your great strength, I did become interested in going with you to broaden my horizons. I was even thinking about how to ask you for the proposal along the way," she said honestly.

"Okay, then three days later."

Ruger settled the matter directly.

The two chatted some more about Lorigo and the Star Family, basically things that were obvious and known to everyone living in this city. He was too lazy to ask about anything that crossed the line, and the red-haired woman might not tell him.

The Baron had six children: four sons and two daughters. His eldest daughter married young into a family that controlled the nearby catacombs. Of his four sons, the eldest was chronically ill. Lorigo was the second-born, followed by two younger brothers. As for his youngest daughter, she was fortunate enough to pass the wizarding aptitude test at a young age. She hadn't returned to this place in years. Even the red-haired Myrtle had never seen this distinguished young lady.

As for the Baron's illegitimate children, that's a bit tricky. Over twenty of them are apparently able to gain some benefits within the family, meaning they're useful. For example, those with certain talents, those who can practice Knight's Breathing Technique, those who are relatively intelligent, or those who are handsome and beautiful, are all considered valuable and will be nurtured by the Star Family.

After Luger finished his breakfast, he asked the maid Daisy to get a recliner.

He began to bask in the false sunshine in front of the door. He lay there for a while and it was really interesting. It brought back some of the feelings he had in his memories.

He couldn't help but marvel at it.

Presumably, everything about this light source cannot be touched by anyone except the one who controls it in the Starry Family, and the same should be true for other underground cities.

Ruger thought of the youngest daughter of the Star Family, and his heart was burning with joy.

The other person was a qualified individual who had been taken away by a wizard as a child and hadn't returned for over twenty years. Ruger's previous misjudgments of Lorigo's age had all been wrong; he only occasionally appeared youthful. The powerful nobles in the Catacombs drank a potion to slow aging, so Lorigo's actual age must be somewhat older. Of course, the potion they drank was certainly inferior to the one Kaliu had consumed.

He practiced silently step by step, feeling himself getting closer to becoming a fourth-level wizard apprentice, while looking forward to the gathering in three days.

Interestingly, Lorigo never returned.
