North American riot police: Start by arresting P. Diddy!
Chapter 63 Above the Truth
Chapter 63 Above the Truth (Please read and vote)
Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.
The Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building.
The west corridor on the sixth floor has been completely blocked, and special agents from the Counter-Terrorism Bureau in black combat uniforms are guarding every entrance and exit.
The muzzle of the M16 was pointed at the ground, but his finger was always on the trigger guard.
Not even a fly can get in without a pass signed by the Attorney General.
The air in the conference room was so foul that you could squeeze water out of it.
The ashtray was full of cigarette butts, and the room was filled with the smell of cigarettes and strong coffee, which confirmed the tangled and irritable mood of the people in the room at the moment.
"The President, Secretary of State, and Speaker of the House, these three horses must not be moved. This is the bottom line, unless you want America to be on the global headlines tomorrow!"
"Okay, then go after the Senate Majority Leader and the House Committee Chairmen. We are the ones who run the judiciary of this country, and we need to do something about it."
"You're talking nonsense! Why do you, the Donkey Party, get away with it while we, the Elephant Party, have to be scapegoats?"
"It's just a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils. Don't you understand this simple truth?"
"I know your mother! I'm telling you, Chris, either destroy all these CDs or expose everyone! Anyway, the person sitting in the Oval Office right now is not one of ours!"
"Coming from the head of the Security Department, it's quite irresponsible for you to say this. We're discussing the security of our nation's image, not partisanship."
"What a ridiculous image! I never realized before that the black leader you elected has such an unconventional sexual orientation. Holy shit, only you donkeys can pull this off."
"You guys aren't clean either. There are people like you on this disc who look like the Communist Party!"
"."
At the front of the long table, Minister Holder rubbed his swollen temples. Three middle-aged men in suits in front of him were arguing with each other.
The three are Deputy Attorney General Ogden, Assistant Attorney General Chris, and Director of the National Security Division Thomas.
The Assistant Minister and the Director of Security belong to different parties and have opposing positions; and Deputy Minister Ogden, who should have remained neutral, is clearly biased towards the Democratic Party because he was promoted by the current president.
These people in front of us are the core team that holds the highest power in the entire Ministry of Justice.
Of course, it also includes the special entity directly under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Justice: the Counter-Terrorism Bureau.
This violent agency operates outside the normal judicial process.
"Jack."
Holder interrupted this meaningless quarrel and turned to the silent figure in front of the window. "What do you think about this?"
"I don't have any opinion." Jack said, his voice eerily calm, without even turning his head. "You make the list, and I'll arrest the people. It's that simple."
Holder smiled wryly and shook his head. "These thirteen discs involve members of the current cabinet and Congressional leadership, including many veterans of both parties. Which of these people isn't protected by 24-hour special forces? A single careless move could easily lead to bloodshed."
"The FBI might screw it up. But if it's left to my Counterterrorism Bureau..."
Jack smiled confidently, "I guarantee they won't even have a chance to draw their guns."
"Etc., etc!"
Ogden suddenly slammed the table and stood up. "I'm not questioning you, Mr. Minister. But are you really going to arrest people based on the names on these CDs? Even if the contents of the CDs are true, how complicated would the entire legal process be?"
"First, the Criminal Division needs to endorse the FBI's investigation. Then, the Minister, the Assistant Minister, and I, the Deputy Minister, must jointly initiate the special prosecutor mechanism. Even if we have the CD evidence, the Security Division still has to review the arrest warrant at all levels."
"This isn't over yet! We need to notify the White House Chief of Staff ahead of time to facilitate the internal party handover, and then coordinate a joint operation between the Marshals Service, the Anti-Corruption Division, and the Secret Service—and all this presupposes that the President is willing to give up his power of pardon!" "If any one of these links gets stuck, these CDs will become a pile of plastic waste. Forget arresting anyone, even filing a case will be a problem!"
When he finished speaking, Holden sighed silently.
How could he not know these procedures?
It was because he foresaw the numerous obstacles that he called these people together for discussion.
But the result?
These high-ranking judicial officials, who usually act with great authority, immediately began to play dumb, shirk responsibility and prevaricate when they saw that the CD involved important members of their own party.
Expecting them to work together to push the process forward is probably harder than climbing to the sky.
"In my opinion, we should just seal all the CDs."
Assistant Secretary Chris faced the crowd with an unusually stern expression. "While the truth is certainly important, compared to national security, these so-called truths are merely hidden dangers that could destabilize the nation. Classifying them as top secret is the wisest move."
"Yes."
Security Director Thomas, in a rare gesture of agreement, pointed out the window, his tone grave. "The war in Afghanistan isn't over yet. The president is planning to send more troops, and the Pentagon has already formulated an operational plan to intervene in the Syrian civil war. The war in the Middle East will only intensify in the future."
"The war in Georgia has reached a fever pitch, and Russia is further squeezing NATO's influence in Eastern Europe. The Army's European Command has already sent multiple requests to the Pentagon for additional troops."
"What's even more crucial is that the East is quietly rising up, seizing this opportunity. Our intelligence personnel have recently reported that their fifth-generation aircraft have entered the flight test phase, and construction has begun on their second independently developed aircraft carrier. Think about it, how long has it been? Perhaps within twenty years, their sixth-generation aircraft will also be available, and by then they will be directly ahead of us!"
The old white man gazed at the crowd and said in a deep, powerful voice, "It's been less than a year since the President took office, and the international situation has already become so dire. Do you really think that these scandalous materials that could tarnish our international image and cause domestic unrest can be made public?!"
He slammed the table and said passionately: "National security always takes precedence over the truth!!!"
There was silence in the meeting hall. Even Attorney General Holder, who had always maintained a neutral position and intended to make the CD public, could not help but close his eyes gently.
Witnessing this scene, Jack, who was standing by the window, couldn't help but look up at the sky covered with dark clouds.
His face was as cold and hard as steel.
National Security?
Politicians always use this term as a fig leaf.
It can cover up secret prisons and illegal wiretaps.
But it can't cover up the smell of blood.
They seem to think that by repeating it a thousand times they can whitewash the sin.
But they seem to have forgotten that history never judges the truth——
It only judges those who conceal the truth.
"Boom boom boom——"
A knock on the door broke the silence in the room, and a soldier guarding the corridor came in to report.
When everyone heard this, they exchanged glances.
The Black leader is here.
