Chapter 120 Learning and Practicing
Chapter 120 Learning and Practicing
Electricity is nothing mysterious.
There's no need to get bogged down in the definition of electricity; that's for the exam. Yan Hui only needs to be familiar with a few basic concepts.
Voltage, resistance, current, power.
Voltage multiplied by current equals power, and the heating of a wire is proportional to the square of the current. Therefore, industrial machinery should prioritize 380-volt three-phase power.
Having understood these, the next step is to understand mechanics, especially the transmission of force.
Once you understand the fundamentals of mechanics, which include thermodynamics, friction, and materials science, you can then learn some basic mechanical principles.
Yan Hui mainly didn't understand electromagnetism, but he was fine with everything else, so the questions he asked Su Jin were basically all related to electricity.
It was Saturday, and the bookstore was a little noisy, so the two of them spoke quietly without disturbing others. Yan Hui asked several questions, which Su Jin answered smoothly.
Yan Hui had a premonition that within a month at most, he would be able to learn most of the high school knowledge that would be useful to him.
His studies are very utilitarian. For example, he doesn't look at chemistry at all now, and he doesn't study those f(x) in mathematics. He's not going to work with CNC machine tools, so learning these things is useless to him.
The three of them read until after 11 o'clock. Yan Hui went out and hailed a taxi, then called Su Jin and Lan Yudie, and together they went to President Teng's restaurant.
In the past seven or eight days, Yan Hui has come for the fifth time. The previous three times he came alone.
Because he came so frequently, several of the waiters recognized him, and the cashier manager also knew him.
"Boss, did you bring friends this time? Are there three in total?" The waiter immediately came over when he saw Yan Hui.
"Yes, just three people, not many, the main hall will do," Yan Hui looked around, "Did President Teng come today?"
"No, I didn't see Mr. Teng," the waiter explained.
"Okay, then bring the menu over and see what the two ladies would like to eat." Yan Hui's movements were incredibly elegant.
This wasn't an act; Yan Hui had been quietly observing the other diners every time he came over.
Everyone says that waiters know how to tailor their dishes to the customers, and Yan Hui now understands that a little bit too.
Whether a customer is rich or poor, from a waiter's perspective, it's hard to say that you can tell at a glance, but you have to admit that people are different.
A person who is inherently timid will inevitably be looked down upon by waiters.
An arrogant person may not be really rich, but he must be a key customer who orders the best food, and he has to maintain his pomp and circumstance.
The truly wealthy are those who are calm and composed; they've seen it all.
Yan Hui was imitating the last type of person. He found that this was the type of person the waiters respected the most, and that this would give them a better chance to get to know President Teng in the future.
"Do you come here often?" Su Jin looked at the menu, somewhat surprised.
It wasn't that she thought the place was too expensive, but rather that she really found it hard to imagine that Yan Hui, who owned such a small shop, could frequently come to such a place to spend money.
"Yeah, I've been here five times in a row recently." Yan Hui nodded. "There are a few good dishes here. I'll order first, and you can choose the rest."
"No rush," Su Jin said, continuing to look at the menu.
To be honest, she wasn't very happy. She knew that Yan Hui had only been in Jianye for a short time, and the business here was just starting out. It would be really inappropriate to start being extravagant at this point.
Before they even ordered, Su Jin proactively reminded them, "Yan Hui, I'm only saying this because I consider you a friend. You're starting a business now, you can't spend money like this. Let's go somewhere else and have a bowl of noodles."
A bowl of noodles costs only 1.5 yuan, while a meal here costs at least 100 or 200 yuan. The price difference is like night and day.
Yan Hui wasn't surprised by Su Jin's words, but Lan Yudie was. She glanced at Su Jin, genuinely not expecting her to say something like that. Lan Yudie knew about Su Jin's family background and assumed her friends were of similar means, so she didn't take it seriously.
"Come here," Yan Hui said, moving closer to Su Jin.
Su Jin was a little curious, so she put her ear closer.
“I came here to meet their boss, Mr. Teng. I’d like to do business with him if I have the chance. I’m not here just for a meal; I have other purposes as well,” Yan Hui whispered in Su Jin’s ear.
As he spoke, Yan Hui rubbed his sunken belly: "Look at me, if I really spent money recklessly every day, would my belly be like this?"
"Oh? Then I misunderstood you. Okay, I'll order these two dishes." Su Jin called over the waiter and ordered two dishes with Lan Yudie.
“Okay,” Yan Hui added four more dishes and a soup to Su Jin’s menu.
The lunch was very enjoyable. Su Jin felt a little embarrassed and told Yan Hui that she would treat him to a meal next time, which Yan Hui gladly accepted.
After dinner, Su Jin hailed a taxi and took the two of them to a bowling alley.
"Yu Die and I will play a round first, you watch us play, and then you can try," Su Jin suggested.
“Okay, you guys play, I’ll study.” Yan Hui readily accepted.
Su Jin and Lan Yudie have played with it more than ten times. They are both used to using an 8-pound ball. This ball is relatively small, making it a little more difficult to score, but it is easier to handle.
Yan Hui watched from the sidelines and felt that their fight was aesthetically pleasing, but lacked power.
They are both young and beautiful girls, and they would look good in any sport, but bowling is, after all, a competitive sport. Judging from the scores, their scores of 145 to 122 are indeed just average.
"You give it a try." Su Jin handed the ball to Yan Hui.
“I’ll use this one,” Yan Hui said, choosing a 10-pound ball.
“Ten pounds? That’s fine, you’re a boy, you’re strong.” Su Jin nodded.
"Wait a minute," Yan Hui said, picking up the 12-pound ball and trying it out in his hand.
"Don't rush, you'll hurt your fingers if you do that."
“Hmm,” Yan Hui said, putting down the 12-pound ball and picking up the 11-pound ball.
Seeing this, Su Jin sighed helplessly and didn't say anything. She had originally wanted to explain the technical points to Yan Hui, but she found that Yan Hui really wanted to show off, so she didn't say anything.
Yan Hui recalled what the coach had said yesterday and stood on the service line.
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, knees bent, arms hanging naturally at your sides. After catching the ball, start running, adjust your position, accelerate, continue accelerating and adjusting your direction, straighten your knees and lean forward to release the ball.
For beginners, the key is to aim using the "three points in a line" method. Yan Hui learned this yesterday, and today, holding this 11-pound ball felt particularly smooth. He made a shot right away.
In the first round, on the first ball, all ten pins were hit. The score is 10 points plus the points from the next two balls.
"So amazing?" Lan Yudie was startled. "Is this your first time touching a ball?"
“It must be a fluke,” Su Jin said, looking incredulous.
After the ball returned, Yan Hui repeated the action. He was incredibly lucky and hit all ten pints, earning 10 points plus the points from the last two balls, for a total of 10 points in the first round.
"Huh?" Su Jin realized something was wrong. "Yan Hui, your serve was definitely practiced! You're lying to me!"
