Chapter 260 Giving Gifts

Chapter 260 Giving Gifts

“Young man, you’re right, haha,” Mr. Ma laughed, then looked at Mr. Han, “Old Han, you have a lot of talent here now!”

"What are you trying to do? You want to poach my people? That's impossible!" President Han immediately saw through President Ma's intentions.

"Look at you, what do you take me for? You're always on guard against me like I'm nothing! By the way, where's Lao Lin? Why hasn't he arrived yet?" Boss Ma asked.

"His son is going back to Tokyo today. His flight is at around 2 PM. He went to see him off in person. He probably won't be here until 4 PM." President Han poured President Ma another cup of tea. "Today, besides Xiao Yan, it's just the three of us."

"Great! I knew you valued this young man highly. If your daughter weren't so young, I would have thought you were grooming a son-in-law." Mr. Ma nodded.

"Yueyue is only 9 years old. If she knew you said that, she would have come over and hit you, hahaha."

“She hit me? I’ll just stand here and let her hit me all she wants! How could Yueyue bear to hit me? Oh, by the way, I brought her a dress this time. My wife brought it back from Hong Kong Island a while ago. It should fit.” Mr. Ma pointed outside. “I left it outside. I’ll let my niece try it on in a bit.”

"Okay, she's gone to her piano lesson. She should be back around 5 p.m.," Mr. Han nodded.

Then, President Han looked at Yan Hui: "Xiao Yan, the main reason I called you over here is to introduce you to President Ma. President Ma is my good brother. We've worked together for over ten years, and we basically rent all the cranes we use on our construction site from him."

"You've already told me all this so quickly?" Mr. Ma couldn't help but glance at Yan Hui again.

As far as he knew, President Han had only known Yan Hui for a few months, and he never expected that President Han would trust this young man so much.

As mentioned earlier, equipment rental is the most reliable and profitable project on construction sites, but it's not something just anyone can do. Mr. Ma is a shareholder of Jian'an Group, a position that no one can replace, which explains why he can lease cranes for Jian'an Group.

"How could you possibly only have that much knowledge?" Mr. Han shook his head slightly. "His brother-in-law is Wang Ruihua, who has been supplying large air conditioners to the construction site. You should know him."

"Wang Ruihua's brother-in-law? Oh, I remember Wang Ruihua." Mr. Ma nodded.

My brother-in-law manufactures large air conditioners, while Mr. Ma makes cranes; they've definitely collaborated many times. You could say that whenever my brother-in-law supplies air conditioners to the Jian'an Group's projects and a crane is needed, it's always Mr. Ma's crane. My brother-in-law and Mr. Ma are probably quite familiar with each other, but there's a significant difference in their status; Mr. Ma will only say he "remembers" them, but won't admit to a close relationship.

“The weather is getting colder and colder, and we’ll be shutting down soon. I plan to hand over the group’s plywood business to Yan Hui when we start construction next year,” General Manager Han said.

"Plywood? How much could that cost? Old Han, is this how you take care of the younger generation?" Boss Ma probed again.

"He's only in his early twenties. As long as he can do one thing well, that's enough. We can talk about other things later." President Han finally settled the matter.

The two seemed to be having a pleasant conversation, but in reality, they had already exchanged a lot of information.

Mr. Han meant that Yan Hui would not get involved in any business other than plywood; in other words, Mr. Han would not provide Yan Hui with support in other timber businesses.

"Old Han, to be honest with you, these people who supply the construction sites these days, well, I don't really think they're reliable. Last time I was doing hoisting in Lixia, the outrigger pads on my crane broke, and my 150-ton crane almost tipped over! Damn it, just thinking about it makes me angry!" Boss Ma cursed.

"That's because you didn't spend the money! Why did you use a shim? These days everyone just uses sleepers, right?" Mr. Han asked.

“It’s not a paved road surface, so the sleepers couldn’t hold up, and it’s my fault. I should have added an extra steel plate.” Mr. Ma took a sip of tea. “I’ll learn my lesson.”

"It's good that you're alright." President Han glanced at Yan Hui but didn't say anything.

Yan Hui understood. Mr. Han wanted to tell Mr. Ma that Yan Hui would not get involved in the timber supply other than plywood, but Mr. Ma meant that he didn't care and didn't care about the entire timber supply sector.

The two chatted idly until a little after four o'clock, when General Manager Lin arrived.

Both General Manager Jiang and General Manager Lin are General Manager Han's secretaries, but General Manager Lin has a higher status, owns shares, and is General Manager Han's true confidant.

The three people sat inside chatting. Yan Hui made an excuse to go to the restroom and left the tea room. He didn't go back inside and found a place outside to sit and wait.

Around 5 PM, Han Yue and her mother returned. Han Yue immediately greeted Yan Hui: "Brother Yan, you're here! My mom said she's making dumplings tonight! She made them herself, and they're so delicious!"

"Really? Then I'm in for a treat!" Yan Hui knew this was considered the highest level of etiquette in Shandong Province.

He saw the nanny busy in the kitchen for a long time, but he didn't expect that President Han's wife would also do it herself.

"I heard about what happened last time. I'm so glad you didn't bring Xiuwen. Thank you so much," said President Han's wife gratefully.

"Sister-in-law, you're too kind. Mr. Han, Mr. Ma, and Mr. Lin are chatting inside. I'm fine. Is there anything I can help you with?" Yan Hui asked.

"You're a guest, what are you busy with? Xiuwen will be back soon, you can play with him then."

As they were chatting, the nanny came out of the kitchen after washing her hands: "The dishes are basically ready. Should you make the dumpling filling or should I?"

"I'll do it, I'll just wash my hands and come over," said Mr. Han's wife.

"Yes, there's one more thing. When Mr. Ma came, he brought a piece of clothing, which is here." The nanny pointed to the sofa, explained the matter, and then went straight back to the kitchen.

After taking a look, Mr. Han's wife knew that this was a dress she had bought for Han Yue, and took Han Yue to try it on first.

Two or three minutes later, Han Yue came out wearing her new clothes. It must be a Disney collaboration outfit; it looked very exquisite and suited Han Yue's image perfectly.

"Brother Yan, do you think this outfit looks good on me?" Han Yue immediately ran out to show Yan Hui.

"You look great!" Yan Hui immediately praised, "You look good in anything!"

"Mmm!" After hearing this, Han Yue immediately ran to President Han's room and knocked on the door.

Han Yue went inside, and Yan Hui followed her in.

The three adults stood up and showered Yan Hui with compliments without restraint, to the point that Yan Hui couldn't stand it anymore.

Han Yue was praised for several minutes before Yan Hui finally took out the crayons and led Han Yue out of the house again.

When Han Yue was hospitalized last time, Yan Hui knew that Han Yue loved to draw, but her family always hoped that she would learn some music. Therefore, Han Yue was even happier to receive such nice crayons, and said that she would draw a picture for Yan Hui. Then she took the crayon box and went into her room.
