Chapter 114 Rotation

as always.

Eric finally arrived at the familiar corridor, glanced ahead, and seeing that Daves hadn't arrived yet, slipped into the patrol briefing room from the back.

The briefing room was in complete disarray, much like a classroom at school after class, where students were chatting and laughing in small groups, or some were quietly thinking.

But when Eric appeared, the entire stadium momentarily came to a standstill.

They looked over from both the front and the back.

One after another, seemingly casual glances lingered on the young patrol officer walking behind.

Compared to the veteran patrol officers who were used to Eric or familiar with his every vacation, the most obvious signs were seen at the table on the left in the front row.

"Annie! Can you please not be so obvious?"

A voice from the side interrupted Annie's gaze.

"You are about to become an eternal watcher."

Annie blinked and suddenly saw Eric, whom she hadn't seen for almost a month, looking over and nodding at her.

Caught off guard, she was startled and quickly turned to look at Lucy, who had spoken up beside her.

"what are you saying?"

Lucy gave Eric a knowing look, then glanced at Annie behind her, and raised an eyebrow.

"nothing."

“Okay.” Annie subconsciously pursed her lips, her mind still flashing back to the image of Eric nodding to her, her breathing becoming somewhat heavy.

During Eric's leave of absence, she was always accompanied by Officer Ruhr, but for some reason, she would always think of Eric during the uneventful patrols.

Do you think you might be reassigned?

Lucy's voice reached Annie's ears, and Annie looked at her.

Lucy continued, "After all, Commander Eric was originally your training instructor."

Upon hearing this, for some reason, Annie felt a surge of anticipation welling up inside her, though she didn't show it on her face.

"I don't know, let's see how it goes."

back row.

"it's over?"

Will turned to watch Eric walk down the aisle, greeting him all the way.

“Hmm.” Eric nodded, sat down in his usual window seat, and nodded to Weston in acknowledgment.

To his left is Will, in front of him is Weston, and to Weston's left is Darren.

Like a group.

However, Eric couldn't help but glance at the row in front of him; the look in that rookie Annie's eyes had almost given him goosebumps.

Because her eyes were so deep, he felt as if he were the only one in those amber eyes.

My gaze lingered on Annie. It had been almost a month since I last saw her. Like Jonah and Fakere, whom I had met before, this newbie had shed her naivety and had become more capable and cool.

The slightly upturned corners of his eyes were accentuated by his short, gathered brown hair, giving him a touch of dashing charm.

“Eric, do you think we should switch to the night shift?” Weston’s voice rang out.

Eric looked away and said calmly, "How would I know? You should ask Will. Compared to you guys and me, at least he's going to work normally."

Will shook his head and said, "Didn't Daves tell you anything just now?"

"What do you think?" Eric noticed someone at the front door out of the corner of his eye and offered a reminder.

"Daves is here."

Sure enough, the next second, Daves, with his usual expressionless face, appeared at the door, scanning the entire room with a menacing gaze and shouting loudly.

"Quiet!" Will and the others looked at each other and sat up straight.

At this moment, the somewhat chaotic briefing room returned to silence, as if the school bell had rung and class had begun.

Daves, having found no troublemaker, walked in, placed the documents he was carrying on the high table, and faced the patrol officers.

"I noticed there's one more person today. It's rare that this person is able to come back to work after having a great time, filling our manpower shortage."

Upon hearing this, all the patrol officers smiled knowingly.

Eric, who was also being watched, simply shrugged to acknowledge his presence.

“We should welcome Eric back.”

As Daves finished speaking, applause erupted throughout the briefing room.

Eric looked helplessly at Weston and Darren, who were grinning as they turned around, and waved his hand, telling them to stop playing around.

“Very good, it seems we will be a united and friendly group.” Daves nodded in satisfaction after the applause gradually subsided.

"We are confident that we can meet the challenges ahead."

Upon hearing this, apart from the rookie patrol officers in the front row, the veteran patrol officers in the back row all started looking at each other.

The same thing happened on Weston's side; they exchanged glances.

Because Daves's words answered all the questions: it was time to start changing shifts and working the night shift.

Daves gave an even more definitive answer the next second. Ignoring the commotion from the audience, he calmly said, "Starting tomorrow, we will begin rotating night shifts for two weeks."

After saying that, he looked at the row of restless newcomers: "The same goes for the newcomers; no one is an exception."

Not only Jonah and Fakere, who were sitting at the same table to the right, but also Annie and Lucy were exchanging glances and communicating.

As far as they knew, nighttime was the most dangerous time of day compared to daytime.

Now, all the newlyweds instinctively tensed up and looked at Daves on the stage.

Besides the new recruits, veteran patrol officers like Weston, who were in charge of training them, all showed expressions of "I knew it."

"Officer Annie!"

Daves looked at Annie, who was talking to Lucy in a row.

Annie woke up with a start and quickly replied, "Yes, sir!"

Daves said calmly, "From today onwards, you will continue to work with Officer Eric."

Annie's breath hitched. Although she seemed to prefer Eric, various emotions welled up at the last minute, after all, she and Eric had only been on duty for a few days in total.

"Yes, sir!"

She subconsciously turned to look at Officer Ruhr, who had been with her for almost a month.

Ruhr simply smiled and nodded.

Annie took a deep breath and, as she turned her head back, glanced to the other side, only to find the young man listening calmly.

“Ask me any questions you may have,” Daves said, looking at the patrol officers below the field.

As soon as these words were spoken, someone raised their hand to ask a question:
"Sir, I heard there was a robbery of a chain convenience store in the West District the night before last? Any new leads?"

Daves said calmly, "I will give you an answer about this tomorrow."

Another senior patrol officer raised his hand and asked, "Sir, what is the specific time period?"

Daves said, "It's a standard 8-hour shift, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Daves answered all the questions, and when no one else asked any more, he picked up the documents on the high table.

"If there's nothing else, then the meeting is adjourned. Same as always. Good luck, and I hope to see everyone here tomorrow, all of you."

"Yes! Sir!"
