Chapter 74 Hero
Have you seen Officer Eric take any medication?
"No, sir. I once fought Eric in the ring, and he knocked me out in two moves. God, do you think he needs any medication?"
"Officer, please answer my questions properly."
“Sir, I have never seen Eric take any medication.”
"."
"Jonah, what kind of person do you think Officer Eric is?"
"Sir, in my personal opinion, well, this is just my personal opinion, Officer Eric is definitely one of the most composed and gentle officers in the entire West Canyon Police Department. Compared to other officers, he answers my questions very well, gives me advice, and comforts me when I feel tired from work."
"."
"I heard you're Officer Eric's trainee?" Viva asked gently, looking at the striking young policewoman in front of her.
Compared to her attitude and tone towards other officers, Viva's tone became much gentler towards this young policewoman.
Annie sat in the chair and nodded.
“I’ve reviewed your files. Although we only worked together for two days, we were involved in two Code 3 cases: one routine fine and vehicle check, one suspected assault on a patrol officer, and one kidnapping of a girl?”
Viva asked gently, "Did Officer Eric encounter anything during the law enforcement process that you didn't understand?"
Annie shook her head: "No, Commander Eric taught me a lot, and he always went ahead of me in times of danger."
Viva raised an eyebrow and asked, "Can you tell me what he taught you?"
Annie said earnestly, "Teach me how to be a good patrol officer."
"."
West Canyon Police Department Inspector's Office.
Inspector Grey was still in her office uniform. She sat at her large desk, put down her tablet, and took a deep breath because Eric's fighting scenes were too intense. She looked at Daves, who was sitting silently on the small sofa in front of her.
"Just like you said, this matter can be handed over to the detective department for now. The most important thing now is to end the investigation of Eric as soon as possible."
Daves's heart skipped a beat. He didn't think much of the first sentence, but the second one struck him as odd.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
Inspector Grey suddenly chuckled: "Looks like you don't know yet. Well, that makes sense. You started coordinating with the investigation team as soon as you arrived."
Daves looked quietly at Inspector Grey, waiting for her answer.
"The girl that Officer Eric rescued just donated a million dollars to our West Canyon Police Department. They said Officer Eric is a good cop and they hope he can stay in the department and continue to be a good cop. They said they will actively follow up on this matter."
Daves was so shocked by the news that he opened his mouth, then shook his head, exchanged a glance with the smiling Inspector Grey, and looked in another direction with a chuckle.
"Inspector, are we about to have a hero?"
Commissioner Grey simply chuckled and said, "If a hero character appeared in our West Rim Police Department, or even in the Los Angeles Police Department, what do you think the higher-ups would do?"
Daves said rather bluntly, "I don't know, I never thought about it. I just saw what I wanted to see with my own eyes. I witnessed Officer Eric fulfilling his duties perfectly time and time again."
Inspector Grey chuckled, "It seems you really like Officer Eric. I think this is the first time I've seen you make that face in all these years."
“No, sometimes I really want to pull out my beloved gun and shoot that damn guy,” Daves said in a very serious tone.
“I’m serious, Inspector. Don’t look at me like that. I’m telling the truth.”
at the same time.
Eric drove his Ford Raptor to a slow stop in a small parking lot, glancing up at the building behind him through the rearview mirror.
The building isn't very big; it's rather ordinary.
However, the signs inside this building are very prominent.
Gibson Dunn, a top international law firm headquartered in Los Angeles, is a large and long-established firm with offices in 21 countries and multiple regions. It employs nearly two thousand lawyers.
Eric pulled down his hat brim, opened the car door, got out, looked up at a building that was about ten stories high, and started walking towards it.
He doesn't actually pay much attention to these things, so this is the public information he found last night.
However, Oleg is one of the two thousand lawyers working there.
Perhaps because of the firm's reputation, his parents, who died in a car accident last year, had been working with the firm, and Oleg was the lawyer who had worked with his parents for many years.
Unfortunately, this guy who had worked with his parents for many years turned out to be problematic.
His reason for coming was simple: first, to ensure Oleg received his due initial punishment, and then to obtain some information about the Graystone Alley Brotherhood from him.
There's also the matter of changing the contract and getting a new lawyer; as for the lawyer, he's already found one.
He was the employer and the heir to the estate, and had the right to replace Oleg.
Because it is a fairly large law firm, there are many people coming and going in the building, including lawyers, clients who come to consult on legal matters, and business people.
Eric, wearing a hat, a short-sleeved shirt, jeans, and yellow Doc Martens, was inconspicuous among the crowd. He asked for Oleg's office at the front desk in the lobby.
We took the elevator to the third floor.
Walk along the large corridor by the window towards Oleg's office.
He shook his right hand, his face calm, as if he was ready.
Eric walked to Oleg's office area and saw a middle-aged woman sitting at a small table and chairs outside the office door. She looked like Oleg's assistant.
"I've come to find Oleg."
However, before he could finish explaining his purpose, the middle-aged woman sitting inside gave him a reply.
"Uh, sorry, Attorney Oleg hasn't come to work today."
Eric frowned: "Do you know where he went? I had an appointment with him, and he told me to come over at nine o'clock today."
"I'm sorry, sir," the middle-aged woman said apologetically.
"I called the lawyer today, but he didn't answer. He's usually very punctual for work, so maybe something urgent came up."
Eric narrowed his eyes slightly, a sense of unease creeping into his heart.
Did this guy know the news and then run away?
Wait, that can't be it.
Based on the sequence of events, it was the gang that made the move. If the gang hadn't received accurate information yet, then Oleg, who was in the final link, shouldn't have known the outcome so quickly.
You should know that everything that happened last night has been covered up, so people outside definitely don't know whether he's dead or alive.
First, they decided to block the news and see how things developed so that no one would come forward, while they secretly investigated. This was a decision he and Daves made, and it was also standard procedure for the police department.
Therefore, the gangsters who made the move only realized something was wrong as time went on, and only then could they begin to investigate.
To know the ins and outs and the outcome of something, you need time; it's not something you can find out immediately by talking or making a phone call.
Oleg definitely didn't run away because he already knew the news.
He had no idea that the investigation had reached him.
"Why don't you sit over there and wait for a while?"
At this point, the middle-aged woman looked at Eric and seemed to feel a sense of familiarity, asking in confusion.
"you are?"
But Eric didn't answer and turned to leave, leaving the middle-aged woman standing there with a puzzled look on her face.
