Chapter 37 Theme Day
Chapter 37 Theme Day (2)
In the United States, homecoming events are held at the beginning of each school year, typically on a weekend. Monday through Friday are designated as pre-school theme days, each with a different theme. Students are required to decorate the school grounds and dress up, as well as participate in activities like signing a wall or creating graffiti. Friday is followed by a homecoming football game, and Saturday is the homecoming dance. These activities are typically designed to help new students integrate into the campus and for returning students to gain a sense of belonging.
But in reality, it all becomes a game.
"I'm not trying to be a loner, I just don't know who to dress up as. You know, when I search online for female superheroes and villains, the costumes are unbearable for me, let alone my dad."
As they walked, Gwen complained to Peter about why most female superheroes dressed so revealingly. Judging from the looks of the uniforms, Sheriff George would never spend money to buy Gwen a cosplay costume.
She and Peter are the rare people who dress like ordinary people. The only difference is that Peter wears regular clothes, while Gwen can't get a uniform at all.
"And you know what they would say. I was standing alone among a bunch of people wearing colorful clothes. Ugh! It was so embarrassing."
"You could actually ask me in advance, maybe I can recommend something."
"Good idea, why didn't I think of that?"
"If anyone asks you which superhero character you're playing, just say you're playing Wolf Girl."
"Who is that?"
"Uh, it's from the same series as my character."
Gwen had no idea what this character was, but she didn't say anything. Peter, on the other hand, glanced behind him. He could sense someone watching him, and his spider sense never stopped.
Culkin again? He's completely set his sights on me, but why? Is he suspecting I'm Spider-Man? Because I got bit by the spider he put on my neck, and Culkin witnessed the whole thing.
What was he going to do after confirming this? Was he going to connect with some villain organization? ...
"Peter? Peter!"
"Huh? Oh, sorry I was still thinking about Culkin."
Although it wasn't entirely right, Peter still apologized and asked Gwen, "What did you just say?"
"I was wondering if you could go with me to pick out an outfit after school. I originally thought this theme day would only last one day, but I didn't expect it to last this long."
"Forehead……"
Seeing Peter's hesitation, Gwen raised an eyebrow: "Why, do you have somewhere else to go?"
"It's hard to say...it depends on the news."
He also planned to borrow the computers and Jarvis in the Avengers Tower to analyze Culkin's recent behavior. If he really suspected he was Spider-Man, Peter would have to find a way to counter it. "Are you hiding something from me? You've been so secretive since you started high school. We rarely go to and from school together."
Gwen looked at Peter, who was lost in thought again, and couldn't help but ask. Peter quickly waved his hand: "No, absolutely not. Don't worry. If there is anything I will definitely tell you."
"Then it's settled. You'll go clothes shopping with me today."
"Row……"
Having barely managed to deal with Gwen, Peter and Gwen continued to survey the campus today. Due to the broad scope of the superhero theme and the diverse array of uniforms, the school was filled with an eerily joyful atmosphere. Besides those tight-fitting cosplay uniforms and tough guys like Harry, who sported an electric wheelchair, there was another way to cosplay as a superhero: the doll costume.
It’s fine if someone is wearing a Sonic doll costume, but why is there Pikachu? Can this really be considered a superhero?
Of course, there were some familiar faces at the scene, such as senior Jessica. She was dressed exactly like Sherlock Holmes, with a deerstalker hat, a double-breasted coat, and a shawl. At first glance, she looked like a standard Sherlock Holmes.
"Hey, Peter. Oh, hey, Doc."
Jessica clearly recognized who Peter was dressed as. Peter, on the other hand, couldn't help but ask, "Are you sure you're a superhero? You're just... Sherlock Holmes."
"Hey, Parker! Of course Holmes is a superhero, how come he's not okay?"
After Jessica finished complaining, she saw Gwen and said happily: "Hello, I'm Jessica, the president of the detective agency, and Peter is a member of our detective agency."
"Hey, I'm Gwen, we're... friends."
While briefly introducing himself, Peter felt Culkin's gaze again. He began to switch strategies and no longer gave Culkin any feedback, leaving him alone to sneak around as he thought he was doing perfectly. Peter planned to see what Culkin was planning to do.
But Culkin had begun to doubt the correctness of his answer. There was nothing strange about Peter Parker. Even Spider-Man's uniform was not found in his closet, and Parker had not noticed what he looked like.
Culkin was in a dilemma and began to wonder how to solve these problems. He was planning to follow Peter after school today to see if he was the so-called Spider-Man, but he unexpectedly found a video on his mobile phone.
It was a video of Spider-Man helping ordinary people and beating up thugs. That wasn't important. What was important was that it was released just now and Spider-Man had changed into a new uniform. Whether it was the action or any other angle, it looked perfect.
All of this made Culkin feel completely confused. Did Peter Parker really not seem to be Spider-Man? Was he really mistaken? Did the spider not give Peter Parker his abilities?

The person who released the video and played Spider-Man was, of course, Chameleon. With the help of Quentin Beck, he completed another outstanding performance, and this time, he was fully dressed as a superhero. In order to prevent the Punisher from suddenly appearing on the road and killing everyone, Quentin Beck actually solved the problem alone. He used projection to transform the warehouse into a street and then blocked it off, then lured Spider-Man to the building at the modeling point, and there, it was Spider-Man's doom.
When Chameleon thought of the humiliation brought to him by Spider-Man, he couldn't help but take a deep breath, but Quentin Beck didn't think so. He thought of Spider-Man and didn't know why the other party knew his name and something more important.
Quentin lay in front of the huge fish tank and couldn't help muttering.
"Infrared vision... infrared... infrared light is also light?"
