Chapter 4 Little Green Dragon

In the blink of an eye, Yun Jiao has been in this world for three years.

Her name in this life is also Yun Jiao, the same as when she was a mermaid.

"Jiaojiao, do you want to go beachcombing?"

Inside the dilapidated mud-brick house, a fair-skinned little girl, as white as a snowball, sat quietly on a small stool, while a chubby boy held a small dried fish in his hand and ate it slowly.

Her clothes were a bit old but very clean, and her hair was tied into two small buns with fluffy bangs framing her face.

Hearing someone call her name, Yun Jiao turned her head to look.

Those eyes were big and bright, with a rounded, cat-like curve, and the pupils were as clear as glass. The black, curled eyelashes were as thick as small brushes.

She was so exquisitely beautiful, like a doll, that her skin tone was completely different from the others in the small fishing village.

Yun Jiao often went out to sunbathe with her brothers, but her skin never got tanned.

"Fifth Brother, I want to go."

I don't know if it's because she was picked up by Yun Xiaowu, but this kid, who is clearly the older brother, is acting like a father.

When Yun Jiao was too old to take care of herself, Yun Xiaowu often changed her diapers, not to mention feeding her milk and providing complementary foods.

His family members jokingly say that he's raising a daughter at such a young age.

During the time she was learning to walk, he was more attentive to teaching her than anyone else.

This led Yun Jiao to also enjoy sticking close to her fifth brother.

After stuffing the last bit of dried fish into her mouth, Yun Jiao picked up her small bucket, grabbed her little shovel, and followed her brothers out.

The eldest and second eldest brothers went to help on the boat with Uncle Yun and the youngest brother, while the third and fourth eldest brothers were still in school.

Their family had many children and was poor, so they couldn't afford to send so many children to school. After Yun Xiaowu, none of the boys went to school.

However, the two students have to teach their younger brothers to read after school.

The remaining boys, after Yun Xiaowu, stayed at home, but the laziest, Yun Xiaoliu, and the youngest, Yun Xiaojiu, were taken to the fields by their grandmother to watch over them.

The ones taking Yun Jiao to the beach now are Yun Xiao Wu, Xiao Qi, and Xiao Ba, who are staying at home.

Three-year-old Yun Jiao has very short legs, and she seems quite busy trying to keep up with her older brothers.

When we arrived at the beach, the tide had just receded, and there were many people there to gather seafood.

They all greeted each other warmly, and Yun Jiao received especially many greetings.

Humans are visual creatures. Yun Jiao, being so small, stood out in the small fishing village with her exquisite beauty. Not to mention the small fishing village, there wasn't anyone as beautiful as her in the whole town.

So she's quite popular.

"Let's go, let's go somewhere less crowded."

Yun Jiao had no objections and followed her brother to a more distant place.

Yun Xiaowu glanced at her short legs and asked considerately, "Are you tired, little sister? I'll carry you."

Yun Jiao shook her head: "I'm not tired, brother, you can hold my hand."

She stretched out her chubby little hand.

Yun Xiaowu immediately grabbed and squeezed his sister's chubby little hand; it was soft and smelled sweet.

"I want one too, and my little sister is holding my hand too."

Yun Xiaoqi also came over.

Yun Jiao looked at the bucket she was holding in her small hands.

"Take this to Xiao Ba."

Without saying a word, Yun Xiaoqi gave her younger brother some extra work.

Yun Xiaoba got angry: "Why shouldn't you be carrying the bucket while I'm holding my sister's hand?"

Yun Xiaoqi said matter-of-factly, "Who told you to be so slow? Besides, you're the younger brother, so you have to listen to your older brother."

"Pah! You were only born a few minutes before me, what kind of older brother are you!"

"Even if it were a few minutes earlier, he would still be your brother."

The brothers bickered as they walked.

Suddenly Yun Jiao stopped.

"Brother, let's go over there."

She pulled her hand out and pointed in a certain direction.

The brothers gave a blank "Ah".

There's no road over there.

Although puzzled, the three older brothers decided to spoil their little sister and go check on her. Yun Jiao, a tiny, chubby little bundle, had to quickly turn her short legs to keep up with her brothers.

They look incredibly cute.

Anyway, all three older brothers were completely smitten by their adorable little sister.

This beautiful little sister belongs to their family, hehe...

The direction Yun Jiao pointed to was a rocky cliff, very high and steep, so high that even the best climber in the village wouldn't dare to go up.

But Yun Jiao led them around and they actually found a cave somewhere near the sea!
The three Yun brothers stared wide-eyed.

They've lived here for so long and never discovered this cave, how did the younger sister know about it?!

The three brothers looked at Yun Jiao in surprise.

The little dumpling, as pretty as a porcelain doll, said confidently, "I could tell from the sound."

The three Yun brothers: "???"

You can even tell the difference from this?
Others may not be able to, but she can.

Merfolk have keen hearing and can distinguish different terrains by various sounds even underwater, which makes hunting easier.

The three Yun brothers didn't ask, but in their hearts, they were even more convinced that their sister was the little lucky charm sent by the Dragon King.

"Go in?"

A previously undiscovered cave may be dangerous, but it could also hold many treasures.

The three brothers all looked at Yun Jiao simultaneously.

Yun Jiao nodded her little head, her tone very firm.

"Brother, let's go in."

"Okay, let's go in then. Jiaojiao, hold your brother's hand tightly and let's walk slowly."

The four of them went into the cave hand in hand.

It was fine at first, but it got darker and darker as you went in.

"I should have brought a flashlight."

The cave wasn't very big, about 1.2 meters high.

Yun Xiaowu had to bend over and crawl inside.

It's no wonder no one discovered such a small cave in such a hidden place.

"There seems to be a sound over there, in the puddle."

This cave can be submerged at high tide, and although the entrance is exposed now that the tide is out, there must be many puddles inside.

There might be sea fish trapped inside.

"Please don't let it be a sea serpent, please don't let it be..."

Sea snakes are highly venomous; if one suddenly appears and bites them, they're all done for.

Several people strained their eyes to make out what was in the water ahead.

The three Yun brothers couldn't see clearly, but Yun Jiao's clear black and white eyes could see it perfectly.

She suddenly broke free from her brothers' hands and ran forward.

"Beautiful!"

Amidst her brothers' panicked shouts, Yun Jiao bent down and grabbed the thing.

"Brother, it's a big lobster."

Yun Jiao's childish voice echoed in the cave. Her chubby little hands held a lobster much bigger than her face, and her big eyes were fixed on it.

The three brothers were initially worried, but were then pleasantly surprised by the large lobster that Yun Jiao was holding.

You can still see it clearly if you get close.

"It's the little green dragon!"

The small green lobster, also known as the Chinese spiny lobster, is considered expensive among seafood.

It costs at least 8 yuan per jin (500g), and the larger the lobster, the more valuable it is. Lobsters weighing more than three jin will be more expensive.

The one Yun Jiao was holding looked to weigh at least two pounds.

The three brothers were so excited that their faces turned red and their breathing became rapid.

This one is extremely valuable.
