Chapter 48: Author's Note and Thank You for Being Listed!
This is the second time I've written a book launch message after five years of writing novels, and it's also my second book.

From the very first time I picked up my pen to write about Native Americans resisting colonists, to now, about the Yellow Turban Rebellion during the late Han Dynasty, I've been writing for five years, growing from my twenties to my thirties.

Thus, he neither started a family nor established a career, only drawing disapproval from his elders, and wasting his years.

This new book was something I decided to write under the pressure of reality after graduation. I wanted to make money, but I also wanted to write the passionate stories that I had always wanted to write.

Before starting the book, I hesitated for a long time: should I write about the late Ming Dynasty maritime merchants in the 16th century, or the Yellow Turban Rebellion in the late Han Dynasty in the 2nd century?
The former, based on sufficient prior knowledge from the previous book, allows for a global perspective, spanning from Asia to the Americas and then to Europe, vividly depicting the grandeur of the Age of Exploration. The latter, however, stems from childhood aspirations and youthful ideals, focusing intently on the fertile land of China.

I thought about it for a long time, tossing and turning all night.

The prosperous end of the late Ming Dynasty was one of decay and despair. The Confucian ethics and bureaucracy were like a tightly layered spider web, preventing people from making any moves, much like the struggle of middle age to establish a family and career.

The heroic era at the end of the Han Dynasty was both decadent and magnificent. It still carried on the heroic spirit of the pre-Qin period, like the unburnt passion of youth.

Five years from now, I can still write about the late Ming Dynasty, and I'll write even better than I do now. But five years from now, I won't be able to write about the late Han Dynasty.

Ten years have passed in vain. All things, when out of balance, cry out; only the spark of idealism remains. Having experienced the vicissitudes of life, the youthful passion in my heart has dwindled to a mere breath. With age, that breath is worn away, and that's it!
Okay, that's all I wanted to say. It's going to be released today, and I'll try to update a few more chapters. If I can't finish writing, I'll write more tomorrow or the day after. I write very slowly; I'll carefully research and deduce, trying my best to be logical and reasonable. Right now, it's time to look for a job after graduation, so I can only guarantee one chapter of 4,000 words a day for now, and two chapters of 6,000 words when I have time. I'll publish it as soon as it's finished; I don't have any drafts saved. I'll note down any bonus chapters from patrons and will definitely make them up.
