Summary

In the spring of the second year of the Guanghe era (179 AD) at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a great plague struck the north. In March, an earthquake struck Jingzhao. In April, a solar eclipse occurred, and Emperor Ling granted a general amnesty.
Zhang Jiao, a Taoist priest of the Taiping Dao, preached in Jizhou, using talismans and water to heal the people. In Julu Township, he witnessed tax collectors pressuring farmers, causing a family to be ruined and their land to fall into the hands of powerful landlords. Only an orphaned child remained, muttering obscure nursery rhymes in a daze.
Zhang Jiao, moved by the sight, stroked the boy's hair in a topknot and sighed:
The Taiping Jing states: "Heaven and earth are not benevolent, and all things bear burdens. When the world loses its virtue, the sins will befall the whole world."
"Your family's ruin and death are all the work of the world. And you, in your dazed state, recite nursery rhymes as if possessed, as if burdened by the lives of others..."
"Since that's the case, you will become my disciple and take my surname, Zhang Chengfu!"
Then, Zhang Chengfu opened his eyes and saw the tragic end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Plagues raged, floods and droughts alternated, officials pressured the people, powerful clans seized land, and the common people struggled to survive like ants.
This was a magnificent era, teeming with heroes and renowned generals. But it was also a cruel one, where those high-ranking nobles trampled over the corpses of the common people, feeding on their blood and flesh! They were the enemies of the people, and even more so, the enemies of the Yellow Turbans!
The imperial streets are trampled with the bones of nobles, a single torch will bring peace. The heavens are dead; the corrupt Han dynasty will be overthrown. The Yellow Heaven shall rise, shattering the powerful clans and aristocratic families. Blood will ignite peace; even ants trying to shake a tree will fight to the death. Don the yellow turbans; even if it takes sixty years of bloodshed, we will rebuild a Yellow Heaven for the common people!
